"Old school" also means no appointments; just walk-ins. And no credit cards; only cash. He started cutting hair at 18 and now a seasoned citizen, and he knows his craft well. However, I usually only have a day or 2 notice or sometimes require a walk-in, but Crystal is a great men's stylist in high demand. I was relieved when I called Tuesday afternoon because I was able to make an appointment for Thursday with Raena, a new stylist under Crystal's wing. She did a fantastic job! At the end, Crystal made sure to come check her work and share her tips of the trade so Raena was able to bring it to perfection with a few more snips. She's a talented stylist and fast learner who I recommend! Details: After 40 minutes I was just as satisfied with my fade cut and beard trim as ever and the $15.00 price can't be beat so I tipped $20 cash on top! FYI cost of quality comparison: In Denver: I pay $35 haircut + $25 for straight razor shave plus tip for 60-90 minute appointment. In San Francisco: $75 haircut + $10 beard grooming or $30 for straight razor shave plus tip for 60-90 minute appointment. He doesn't get out much. So we learned of this fellow thru his wife a receptionist at the apartment house. He came to his apartment and cut it there. Oh he was all smiles! Fast forward we think his hair had not been cut since maybe 1 time? We are out of state. So I reached out again. His hair was past his shoulders and the beard..it was keeping up! He doesn't have a car anymore so he doesn't want to be a bother. He has some important health related appointments coming up and wanted to look nice. He got some lousy news earlier and it's going to be a tough road ahead. I asked for before and after. OMG!! He looks amazing. He is just super kind and compassionate and told us to just call him anytime. There are still wonderful, kind and compassionate people in this world. I think we found a rare gem. There's a big age gap between these two guys, but Teruan must have been super patient and sweet, bc B-I-L just was happy and excited. If you need a business that is honest, kind, compassionate and takes a gentle touch with an older guy with some big barber needs why look any place else?? I have been to the shop across the street before (review is on Yelp) , but it did not appear open at 0900 when I arrived. I searched the map and found Jeff's, however, the actual barber shop was hard to find. I found a hair salon at 62 S. Broadway and was willing to give it a try. The door was locked so I decided to look elsewhere for a haircut. As I was leaving I noticed a barber pole on the back (West) side of the building. This is where Jeff's is located. Once you figure that out, it is worth it. Jeff has been in the community a long time. His barbershop is quaint but nice. He is a friend of the military and with my $2 discount, my flat top cost $10. The company was good. The haircut was good. If I am in Peru and need a trim, I will definitely return to Jeff's.
