Some one had left their vape on the ground near the baby books. The building is very cool but it isn't taken care of. It has a lot of potential but I really can't recommend going.

A library card is free! I've been helped quickly on a few occasions without judgment for some of my goofy questions in trying to locate some books or using equipment. This is one of the quietest and the most clean libraries I've been to. They take their time posting ads in the front lobby about community events held at the library and in town. They hold events here like chess, family story time, social workers helping folks with resources, book clubs and master gardening. They have tote bags available for borrowing as well to take your items to/from home which I think is pretty convenient if you forget your own or end up borrowing more than you intended. You're permitted to print in color or black and white from the computer stations on a weekly basis, up to what would be a cost of $11.25 for free. 1 black and white page is $0.15, and 1 color page is $0.50. Once you hit the $11.25 in the week of what you have printed, THEN you have to actually pay for the printing. It's free up to that point. This is for all libraries within the county. You can reserve a computer to use online at home ahead of time so it's ready for you when you arrive. I think that's really cool. Even though this library is smaller and the selection is too, you can go online while there or via your own devices and get anything within King County sent to Fairwood for you to pick-up. The parking lot is large and has easy access. There are conference rooms and study rooms to rent/use and community events. They also have a scanner, copier, and fax machine. There's a ballot box out front as well as a drop-off box but it's in the building, no drive-up drop-off.

I'm not a fan of parking garages. The library itself is spacious and very open. The high ceilings and bright natural lights greet you as you walk through the door. There are plenty of rooms for studying/conferences. The librarian is so helpful. There isn't enough self checkout computers. Also, they close early on the weekdays (I think 5pm). Bummed that they don't have handy little paper/pencils to jot the codes (location) down near the lib catalogs. My old dementia brain can't remember anything. Pro tip: if you need a particular book, it's better just to put it on hold. Said that it was available but couldn't find it.

I have to say, the staff at this library set the bar HIGH for KCLS - engaging my children (even the shy one glued to my leg) in what they like to read, finding books for them that they haven't read before but match some of their interests and validating their opinions about the books they were reading. They also ran a tight ship organizing a popular summer lunch program. On this particular day, there weren't enough bag lunches for the number of people who came - but they scrambled and arranged for more. It's convenient to access the different KCLS branches if in the area, so when we were in Issaquah, I decided to check out what this library had to offer. Located on Front Street in Issaquah the branch is a good size for services and such. It's smaller than my primary branch, but is larger than other ones I've been to. There was a large meeting space right by the entrance, that you can reserve for free. Parking on Front Street is pretty easy to find; however, I did see a parking lot behind the library. There was also a Friend Shop where you can purchase used books for two bucks or so. And though it's not in a separate room, it's located in the entrance way of the building and has an honor system where you put your money in the cashbox. There seemed to be plenty of space for tables and chairs spread out throughout the library for lounging, in addition to a couple study rooms. Book selection was average, but saw that the DVD selection had a better assortment of TV shows than my Bellevue branch. It's nice to know that when in Issaquah I can check out this location for what it may offer and utilize the same services that I can at my primary branch.

You are allowed so many pages to print for free weekly up to a certain amount in b&w or color. My printer died, and I don't have the funds right now to get a new one, so the library has been a saving grace for me. I also have had to use the scanner/fax option to get things in, and it's really a blessing, considering it is 50 cents a page to do this at FedEx Kinkos and it's free at the library.

I did not recognize the library at all after 17 years. If it had not been for the road leading in, the library would've been completely unrecognizable. The entrance has wood plating and very modernized lighting. The inside looked more like a study lounge in a college than a college. The library is still modest in size but was very new and had a lot of natural lights from the windows. There was a computer lounge as well as many study rooms and one meeting room. I have to admit, I almost miss my old library but I can't deny how attractive the new designs were. They have a check yourself-out-station, which was pretty neat as you don't have to wait in line during busy hours. While not extravagant, this will always have a special place in my heart.

This location offer such a amazing atmosphere for him. They have computers that are free to access for the little ones and adults. There was a safe place for him to use crayons and color pencils without making a mess. The location itself is not super big which can be one of the perk since you can see everything without feeling overwhelmed. Their variety of kids books are just so diverse and visible. The first thing you see when walking in is the kids books section which makes it feel super welcoming. The walls are painted super cute and kids friendly. The staff is all super nice and helpful on helping me checkout the books for my son. They didn't mind that my son was yelling slightly even though I felt bad about it; he went to the back counter and instead of telling me to get him out and making me uncomfortable they made him feel welcomed and spoke to him nicely. They asked about his day and offered him stickers. This to me was just such a amazing experience because having two little ones are not easy to care for. Overall, this location surpassed all my expectations with amazing librarians.
