Love the art, both the public and the student art pasted inside. Meeting spaces, event space. The library itself is down the rather cavernous hallway - the library itself feels pretty gigantic; enjoyed browsing the suggested new titles on offer. The used book store appendage outside the main doors was open this time around during my visit. I wish they took more than just cash or check. Could not partake : ( I saw tons of appealing books and also they had puzzles and puzzle books. A great place to spend a couple of hours in Bellevue.

But no, one minute past and i'm out of luck. I can't comment about the library in general, but the two workers who said no to restroom access one minute after closing have no discretion/flexiblity/humanity/compassion.

The recent refresh (the "Mercer Island Refresh") seems to have paid off, with great user spaces and that cozy, enclosed Children's Den with the cute bronze bunnies--it's perfect for families! They have a fantastic selection of books and materials, and it's a great place to settle in for a few hours of work or reading. The ample parking is a huge plus, too! My one note is that it can get a little noisy in the afternoons, especially around the teen lounge area, which can make focused studying a bit of a challenge at peak times. Overall, it's a well-organized, inviting space with friendly staff and a central role in the community. Highly recommend stopping by for a peaceful afternoon!

This is MY library. I live 3 miles from it. I used to visit this library a lot in person before…read morereading ebooks was possible. Now I try to do all my reading that way and visit less frequently. This was a poorly designed and thought out library, way too small for the community it supports, one with the highest income by zip code per person for any similar sized city in the US. The parking lot is too small, the spaces too tight and the parking garage is horrible. It is dark with huge concrete pillars everywhere and with tiny parking spaces. The concrete posts are scratched and chipped from drivers hitting them with their cars. I had to rescue a driver whose new Volvo was wedged tightly against one of the pillars and she couldn't figure out how to extract herself. The side of the car was completely smashed. The parking lot is frequently full, forcing us to park in an adjacent church parking lot and hike to the library. The entitled patrons who can't be bothered to park in the church parking lot park in the 5 minute short term book drop parking stalls forcing those of us who came solely to return books to hike back and forth from the church simply to drop off our books. I like that they have a copy machine with which your library card offers a few free black and white copies a week. A color copier too that offers fewer. As a note, the Snohomish Library system is WAY more generous with their free copying privileges. They also have a much larger selection of books, and more of them per title. The gas fireplace is nice. I've sat there a few times while reading magazines. The Redmond and Issaquah libraries are far superior to the Sammamish library. They are located too far away for me to use often, but I'm always sad when I visit them and am reminded that MY library is so diminished in comparison.

MOST of the librarians I've dealt with have been kind. There was one older lady who was not my cup of tea, but whatever. I wouldn't recommend coming here to work or study at all, though. This is an extreme hotspot for the local kids because of the free internet, books, etc. There's kids of all ages here, unsupervised, a lot. It's very common for them to be yelling and running around inside and outside of the library. The selection for books here is much smaller than the Kent and Covington library as well, but it does the job.

While the moms slurped their lattes and exchanged the latest celeb gossip, the kids were running around, played hide and seek and were crazy loud. Don't get me wrong: kids in libraries is a wonderful thing but whatever happened to good parenting or librarians enforcing a basic standard of behavior? Going forward I'll go to the Issaquah library instead. It's a shame because the Fall City library has a good selection of books and mags, they have exhibitions from the Fall City Historical Society and they are perfectly located next to Aroma Coffee. But with librarians (and parents!) not doing their job this place is going downhill :(

You do not need to be a resident of North Bend to use the library and there is no credential required to access the internet. You only need to be a resident in order to borrow materials. One of the perks of the library being in the King County Library System is that if one lives elsewhere in King County, one can still stop and check items out. Fast forward to present, and this library still serves as the source for certain items I can only get from here in the KCLS circuit of libraries. Most recently, I put on hold the only copy in the KCLS libraries of the 2006 movie "RV". I placed the hold request on approximately Thanksgiving Day 2023 (Thursday 23 November 2023). The printed holds slip in the DVD when I picked it up at a different KCLS library today, Tuesday 5 December 2023, printed the date of 24 November 2023 (the day after Thanksgiving). I appreciate the honesty in holds dates for item(s) I get from this library. The copy of the DVD is in good condition, including no fingerprints on the bottom of the disk. Item(s) I get from here tend to be in good condition.
