It was also a good feeling to support the work they do for the community.

I went there to play indoor pickleball with friends on a Wednesday. Annual fees are $45 for DC residents and $63 for non-residents. The gym has 4 permanently lined badminton / pickleball courts and nets are portable. The ratio of BM to PB varies depending on the number of players and was 2-2 on the day I went. Friends told me the court times are 9-1pm. The courts were clean and not dusty, this good traction, the portable PBall nets were not droopy thus sufficed. Visibility can be an issue as the lighting is not very bright with no skylights for natural lighting while the walls are red making visibility for indoor orange balls challenging. Suggest playing with blue or bright green yellow indoor balls. Play was non-stop with my friends as the place was not overly crowded. Good alternative for a windy or rainy day. Public parking lot located across from the center.

My parents brought my sister and I here after school everyday and we would do hw and then play board games or sports outdoors with other kids that came here. Good place for your kids if you want them to meet new people and to have a place to complete their homework. This afterschool program is pretty diverse. Not only was it an afterschool program but it also served as kind of a day care for older children. I came here during the summer and would pretty much spend the entire day here playing games, hanging with friends, and doing outdoor activities. They provide food as well and everything is free(if your parents income is below a certain number). Would definitely recommend this place to everyone. I mean, it's not Trocadero Clubhouse's fault that the particularly tall fellow was an imbecile or that the then happy couple was mismatched from the start and destined for unhappiness with each other or that drug addiction is often tragic and deadly. This is an update on my previous review after getting married here in November…read more Despite some of the cons(see previous review), it is completely worth it. Absolutely beautiful, staff onsite was friendly and willing to pitch in if needed even though that isn't included. There are extra tables onsite(some good size rectangular ones). Both the upstairs rooms have some chairs and there is a bathroom upstairs in the larger room(perfect for a getting ready room!). There is even a clothing rack in that room! The water damage is still very obvious from the redwood Grove where a lot of people will have their ceremonies. The hillside going up toward sloat is still barren and does not look good a a back drop. I would recommend having your ceremony in the east meadow(included with rental), it's so pretty and very spacious and more private. A lot of traffic goes through the redwood grove area. The lights in the main "dining room" have a dimmer which is nice! There is a restroom behind the bar in the main building as well as the public restrooms just outside on the deck.

After about 15 minutes, one of the staff members approached me and apologized for the delay, explaining that they were missing an ingredient but assuring me that the drinks would be ready soon. I appreciated the communication and courtesy. However, it still took roughly 30 minutes from the time I ordered before we finally received our drinks. What made the experience more disappointing was that they had also run out of straws, so none were available with the drinks. In addition, the drinks themselves did not quite meet our expectations. Some tasted watered down, others seemed overly creamy, and none of the drinks included boba. I'm not sure if the missing ingredient mentioned earlier was related, but it may have contributed to the overall experience. While I appreciated the staff's professionalism and willingness to keep customers informed, the long wait, inventory shortages, and drink quality made this visit less enjoyable than we had hoped. I would be willing to give Kapwa another try in the future, as this may have been an unfortunate off day.

They are sweet but delightful to sip while you chill at the cafe whether you have work to do or want to indulge in a creative project. The cost of the boba goes toward fundraising for youth initiatives and other community needs! The times i have visited they've hosted free pop ups and events like a clothing swap and dessert tasting. Came here for their annual easter egg hunt and the entire family had a blast! The event center is a bit dated, but the team did a great job sprucing everything up for the easter festivities. Kids were organized into groups based on their age range with staggered time slots. They brought out a fresh crate of eggs filled with candy and toys for each round. Although there was a good amount of kids and parents, it still felt fairly spacious and not overly crowded. After the egg hunt, we walked through the tabling booths that were set up inside and took a picture with the easter bunny in the adjacent room. They also organized story time for the little ones. Going outside, there were vendors set up in case you were interested in purchasing their goods. There is a wide grassy lawn where they also had activities set up and a play structure available as well. At the same time of this event, they also had a vintage car show happening in the parking lot with several food trucks set up. Even with this, there was plenty of parking available here. All in all, this was a great venue space!

MINI STAGE I loved the little stage perfect for performances or shows. HIGH CEILINGS Ceilings felt tall like inside a chapel. The building and complex felt modern. KITCHEN INCLUDED Commercial kitchen with fridge and freezer. TABLES, CHAIRS INCLUDED At least 6 round tables and 6 long rectangle tables included with chairs enough for 50-60 people WEEKEND DIFFICULT PARKING Beware there are youth soccer games from 8 am onwards. The whole parks street parking while free of charge was at capacity. TIP It's one giant room with no small breakout rooms. I brought pop up tents for privacy for breastfeeding mothers at my party. Would rent again.

They knew the game was for fun and to help the younger kids grow. What a friendly game of basketball! Personally, I gave a pair of shoes to this young Asian male and his sister because they played their hearts out! Recommend this recreation center with my whole heart because it is full of love.
