We ate lunch at the nearby Twisted Laurel, which was excellent. Things to know: Parking is not free. There are a couple of metered spaces nearby and there's a pay to park lot across the street. There are no bathrooms or changing rooms close by (that I could see). On their website it says there is a public bathroom, but I couldn't find it. There isn't a lot of shade except under the trees and on the amphitheater stage. These are really too far away to keep a good eye on a small child. Bring your sunscreen! There are no benches nearby to sit on, but there are concrete blocks so bring a towel for parents to sit on. It's a public fountain, so we were glad to have our water shoes. The fountain is advertised to have a lot of features and lights, but we didn't see any of that while we were there. The water shoots up out of the ground and doesn't change. That's enough for my preK kid, but might get boring for older ones. We brought some water toys and those were a big hit. While we were there a summer camp or daycare came through with 50 kids who were well-behaved, but they took over the amphitheater area and most of the fountain. We ended up leaving because it was just too crowded.

Hope to try the indoor and outdoor pools. Easy to find off the hwy at the Mountain View Marriott exit. Located across the street and one light down from the hotel. Huge parking lot. One of the perks of joining is the pool and Aquatic Center are included in the price. Everything looks new and is kept very clean. When the medicine ball was falling apart at the seams it was replaced.

I was a member of a Lifetime Fitness in Chicago area for around five years. Lifetime was great but…read morevery costly. We moved to Kingsport area and joined the YMCA. Especially for the money the YMCA is a far better deal, but even at the same cost it is a great deal. The equipment is in great condition, the classes are great, and the walking track upstairs is a real plus. I could not be happier and look forward to many years of exercise to come.

We stated 5 wonderful days in Hemlock Cabin and loved every minute of it. The area is so peaceful…read moreand beautiful. We came with our 3 young adult children and 2 dogs, we all want to return for another vacation! The river is gorgeous, I started my day with my coffee and the river. The facilities include a fire pit, tables and chairs outside, a grill in a cabana area, horseshoes and we took advantage of all of it! Convenient to quaint Elizabethton and Roan Mountain, and we rafted down the Watauga River with Wahoo Adventures. Plenty of time to rest, walk, play games, work on a puzzle and enjoy the peace and quiet. When you're ready to plug in you can enjoy the Direct tv and Netflix available! The owners are lovely people and our dogs loved playing with theirs. I highly recommend this location--it has made me rethink beach vacations and make mountain/river vacations the way to go!
