Since I had no medical insurance, I didn't feel like paying for out of pocket medical expenses. I stumbled across the website for the Wake Tech Dental Program. http://dentalhygiene.waketech.edu/clinic.php If you need your teeth cleaned, then if you are a student at Wake Tech, it is all free. And trust me, I have seen some grills at Wake Tech that needed some attention. And if you are not a student, then it will cost you a small fee of $20. That is not bad for some people that need that $1200 deep intensive cleaning because you have not ever been to a dentist in your life. (They did state that they have some people who need some serious TLC.) But it is good to only pay $20 for something you might not otherwise be able to afford. As far as the cleaning and treatment goes, they did the screening, complete work up, blood pressure check, x-rays and the whole 9 yards. The techs, even being students are very knowledgeable, and gentle. I will put it like this, my first year student tech was so gentle, I actually fell asleep in the chair, while she was in my mouth. The instructor thought it was funny, but I was tired. You don't have to worry about being left alone with some student that have never done any work on a soul. Because first they practice on each other, then they call in their family members and friends to practice on. So, if they didn't kill their family members, or friends, you have nothing to worry about. Now as far as the facilities for being a student, well, they are poor in comparison to the other campuses. The student lounge, while larger than the North campus, is also the cafe, which is also larger than the North campus, but they have nothing to eat except the vending machines. The library is quaint. The computers in the library I think were running Windows 98. Ok, maybe Windows 2000, but they were old, and very slow. Even trying to do some web based school homework on them was very difficult because the computers were not capable of running certain programs or software. The computer in the computer lab were a step up. As a student attending the campus, the issue parking deck cards, and you are supposed to let yourself in. As a student visit from another campus, security is supposed to let you in provided you have proper school ID. That does not always work, as security told me that they were not going to let me out one day since I didn't have a school ID. One quick phone call to the security chief at home fix that issue. So, here is the wrap up. I don't know what it is like to take classes there, but the students complain about the lack of food. I was a HUGE fan of the dental clinic that they run, and they do excellent work, so that earned them a bunch of stars. I did however remove a star because if I went over to that campus, and had to use the library services, or computer, the equipment was dilapidated. Many of the students there are high school that will graduate with their HS Diploma, and college AS at the same time, so you can't beat that. Almost having a BS by the time you finish high school.

Meredith College is a great neighbor. I regularly walk the Raleigh Reedy Creek Greenway through the…read morecampus. It is clean, safe, pavement fairly level (a few spots roots are erupting the surface) and offers wooded, as well as, open and sunny portions. Open dusk to dawn only. Youngsville is a small town (population 1360 or so) and Youngsville library fits the bill - a small…read moretown local library with not a huge variety but a good amount of charm and warm feelings. The building itself is quite nice, the property is very pretty as well. The actual library is quite small, very tiny kids section hear the front and limited books in each department. I didn't find what I was looking for but I did see some very current and new books. I love to support local and will definitely donate books to this location - looked like they accept magazine donations, too. Good option if you are a local resident. Just don't plan on finding more unusual books or a huge selection.

I have rising sophomores and I feel confident that the education and the preparation Southeast HS provides, will help them to be ready for their future endeavors. The high school experience is what you make it (applies both to the student and parent). Proactively engaging with the helpful and professional staff at Southeast high school help to make the experience for both myself and my children a positive one.

I've visited on several occasions for my nieces dance recitals, football games and much more. The school is really clean and the staff are always friendly and eager to assist parents. Last week we went to the summer dance recital and I was super impressed with the talent displayed. The dance director, team of choreographers did an amazing job with the young ladies and (1) man. The entire production was stellar. The lighting and sound was great too. I'm proud of my niece Tania and SE Raleigh High is the BEST!

It's National Library Week so I figured I'd check out a new to me library. I will say in general…read morethe Wake County libraries are so awesome. Richard B Harrison Library is no different. It's directly off of New Bern Ave and easy to drive right by it without even realizing it's there. This is the smallest library I have been to in Wake County, but it is still has everything you might neat. They have beautifully curated displayed towards the front and then the standard racks after that. They have quite a few computers and a printer if you need to utilize it. The children's second was also quite cute. They have a nice little seating area there and plenty of fun books on display. I love that Wake County in general has the Lucky Day section. It's a small section where you can get new release books and skip the month's long waitlist. I was able to score the new Emily Henry book that just got released yesterday. It truly was my lucky day! The librarians were both very friendly and parking was easy as well.

The hall where the play was performed is majestic, historic and is the centerpiece of campus. However, as with older buildings, there are steps to climb and bathrooms were located on another floor. But, an elevator is available if needed. Small and intimate setting inside Theatre, which was set up with seating on three sides. No bad seat in the place. No concession stands either. Thanks to Peace University for hosting RLT as they undergo renovations. Peace also has offers performances done by their students. I look forward to returning to this beautiful campus in the heart of Raleigh.

I also liked the view out each window. I'll try to plan an event here soon with my association management company. Some things to work on: finding specific room numbers was very difficult. Hopefully they'll put out signs soon so people don't have to wander around in circles and go down each hallway to find their room. Apparently if you rent a space here, you have to work out parking with a completely different division. This needs to be streamlined to get more business. Convenience is key.
