Back in 2016, when Mattia College of Miami closed its doors to the school unexpectedly, it caused many of its students to be left without any information about nursing studies or where to go thereafter. After doing research on schools in the area, I went to the Universal Career School looking for a way to continue and finish my nursing program. The Universal Career School opened the door for me and many of my clasmates. We were able to obtain the correct information and were given the best communication from the administration staff. The faculty did a great job by preparing us well for the classes and they provided excellent support. I graduated last year and I have shared my archives with my classmates, instructors, and the administrators. I also participated in the first graduating ceremony with my RN license already in my hands. I was able to pass the NCLEX on my first try as the Universal Career School had prepared me well. Today I am working as RN in a large hospital system. I am forever greatful to the Universal Career School for all the help they provided me towards my end goal of having a career in Nursing.

I took the elevator to the fifth floor and I was quickly greeted by students there to direct you in. I was very impressed how the party was put together. I got to meet Vicky Santiesteban Faculty Advisor and the students in my son Gavin Louis's club Natalie Kasper, Madelyn Gibson, Andrew Acosta, Tiffany Sims. The students representing their work to the magazine PANKU really impressed me with their art work and literacy. They each took turn explaining there piece of art or literacy. It was a great evening and pleasure to attend the event. The students did a great job. I can't wait to go again if my son continues in the club in the future.

I felt a pain in the lower right side of my back that caused me to gasp in pain. It put me on my hands and knees for 12 hours because no other position was tolerable. The VA prescribed me some meds that were useless and only caused me to be constipated. That was a whole other set of problems. Needless to say, I have been almost house ridden for weeks from excruciating pain. Unable to sit or lay down without barely tolerable pain. One of the people I worked with recommended the Institute and thank God! The staff was so welcoming from the initial phone call to the women that worked on me. Molly really stood out. Not to say that they all were FANTASTIC, but she went through a series of questions. To be honest, it was a lot of questions. She was so comforting and understanding, as it allowed me to unload the pressures that I have be feeling for months. I could tell that she really wanted to understand where my known and unknown pain was coming from. 3 women worked on me, Molly being one of them. I felt so comfortable. I normally get free healthcare from the VA, but this was need I say "magical". The administered cupping and acupuncture, with little to no pain. I left there slightly skeptical, but wow what a difference. Right away, I had 20-30 percent less pain for my drive home, and then more pain returned at home. My pain had slightly moved in my back. I did a little stretching, had dinner and people, I would say 80 percent of my pain is gone after one visit. I can't thank them enough for their caring and thoughtful service they gave to me. It was like a warm hug after a tough day. Thank you, thank you for taking care of not only my back, but taking care of me. They know what they are doing and revived me from despair. So the people working on you are interns directed by doctors of Chinese medicine. They're very educated but still learning. Their caring and gentle approach convinces me they've chosen suitable paths. I keep going back because I feel good, kind of zen, when I leave.

Having played poker in a casino over 15 years, I have decided to give dealing a shot. I have…read morealways wanted to deal poker professionally, be it part or full time. But I have no experience sooooo I enrolled in the Mizrachi Dealer Academy Inc. The program is 120 hours long, which takes about 6 weeks minimum considering the dealer school is only open M-Th. I currently have logged about 18 hours and it is a definite W.I.P (work in progress). Stacy, the instructor, is very demanding and has her own in-your-face style. But there is no doubt an end game method to the style. Poker dealers generally take in between 50k-60k so going to poker school is worth it. In order to get a dealing position, one must pass an audition at a casino. There is where the poker school is crucial because of contacts to local poker rooms. Otherwise, it is tough to get that perverbial foot in the door. Stacy teaches you the proper techniques from the ground up. But, as there are other students, one must also practice well on his or her own. I currently have my own green felt and poker chips at home for practice purposes. Completing the 120 hour course does not guarantee anyone a diploma and an audition, as everyone learns at a different pace. But those students with over 120 hours are allowed to attend the classes until they are audition ready. Gulfstream Casino and Mardi Gras Casino are the two major contacts in connection with the dealer school. However, once you become an adept dealer with a diploma, most other casinos may give you a look. I only know of a few other poker dealer schools in South Florida. Based on my 18 hour experience so far, the Mizrachi Dealer Academy Inc is the way to go. Because if you can handle the pressure there, I believe it to be a piece of cake dealing for real in a casino. You are taught, among other techniques, how to pitch the cards, count the bank, cut the chips, proper shuffling, the different poker games, count and take the rake, running the game, what to look for, and several other necessities for dealing success. But it's not easy. I know the game well but was surprised how little I knew about dealing. Awkward at first, I now feel like I'm beginning to hit a little groove. The 120 hour course costs $1,300. It may be paid in two increments. So, if you are looking to switch careers like me, give poker dealing and this school a look. It can be a part time job as well...

I'm a nervous wreck and it's hard to believe in myself in most situations! Boy oh boy did Stacy change that. The way she believed in me, helped me to believe in myself. She has a way of making you WANT to be better. If you take her course, you will want to prove yourself to her and it will push you to practice every day. It will push you to want to do it for yourself. She never gives up on you. If the course was double the price I paid, I would still do it. She goes above and beyond to implant the rules in your head. If everyone learned from her, the casinos would all have perfect dealers. I'm so happy I took the step to take this course.
