Yes I recommend Florida National University. I dealt with their registrars and veteran's affairs personnel and have nothing but great things to say about their staff. I am grateful to the University for all they've done and continue to do. I understand everyone has had their experiences, but mine is my own so it's all I can speak to. The location is easy to find, as driving past it is a landmark on the north bound palmetto expressway. There are different places to park at this campus and I see it growing at a good pace. I was able to get my required documentation squared away fast quick and in a hurry. I value my time and I'm glad they valued it as well. Note: you'll need a parking decal if you're going to park there so don't rest on your laurels when it comes to that. read more

My experience with this university has been very disappointing. I encountered serious issues with administrative support and a lack of reasonable academic accommodations. During a course, I was pregnant and experiencing a medical condition that was properly communicated to the professor, yet I was denied the opportunity to take an exam or receive any reasonable alternative. This decision negatively affected my academic progress and created unnecessary stress. The lack of flexibility, communication, and student advocacy is concerning. Institutions of higher education should ensure fair treatment, especially in situations involving protected conditions such as pregnancy. I wish someone had warned me. The program I completed at FNU wasn't accredited, and I didn't find out until halfway through. Because of that, I couldn't take the ARRT exam after graduation, despite all the time and money I put in. Some professors were kind and helpful, and I do appreciate the support they gave us. But the school failed to be transparent about accreditation and certification requirements. Now I have to find another program just to qualify for the career I was working toward. If you're pursuing a healthcare career, especially in radiologic technology or sonography, do your research and make sure the program is properly accredited. Don't make the same mistake I did. RUN away from this school. They lie to you and have so many hidden fees that they only tell you about once you're already almost a year into the program and about to start your core program. I'm in the sonography program (tuition is 35k+) and then once you're about to start your core classes then it's all of a sudden it's $1500 for clinicals $750 for your lab classes on top of other miscellaneous fees. Then also your classes aren't even actually classes you're just reading a textbook and teaching yourself with the teachers telling you "the material is in the textbook" whenever you ask for help. The Medical Sonography program is HORRIBLE. For the price that we are paying (35k+) please do yourself a favor and go to any school but this one. The director of the program "Fernandez" is very egotistical. He belittles you and tries to intimidate you. If you dont know something he makes you feel bad about yourself and makes it a huge deal instead of teaching you. He puts so much stress on the professors & students. I had the worse situation of all with their collection and financial aid department specifically with Karla G that after paying a settlement to be with no debt with the school wanted to charge me the whole amount again in order to allow me to enroll in classes. Expect the Hialeah attitude. Never met advisors and professors so disrespectful. And I come from a community college. Graduated with my AA in MDC. Transferred over to FNU as even with the Dean's scholarship I could not afford NOVA. I was literally in the middle of losing my home and the professors and staff were completely unhelpful as I got a loan for $10,000! You would think this would include everything but no. I was expected to still pay for codes out of pocket. When asked if I could take another class because I literally could not afford it, the advisor said I had NO choice. Either pay or fail the class I suppose. I was hospitalized for a week due to extreme abdominal pain that turned out to be a massive ulcer that had started to cause bleeding. The professor gave me until the weekend as an 'extension' ..... I can not make this up. Even after I provided photos at the hospital, of the papers, all signed, my medication... Professors NEVER explain anything. They upload assignments left and right with no explanation as to what to do or when it's due. Then they'll send out an announcement saying it's due tomorrow. Some professors give SO much attitude... it's unbelievable. One professor failed an essay because my Safe Assign showed plagiarism. The plagiarism in question was ALL MY REFERENCES. Of course the sources have been used, we had to cite those specific references. I asked the professor if he bothered to even OPEN my paper as he would've seen what was highlighted as plagiarised, and he told me "There is no need." I went back and forth for A MONTH with a professor trying to get an assignment opened that SHE SAID I could let her know and she would open it. I kid you not the conversation was her asking again and again which assignment, EVEN WHEN I SENT A SCREENSHOT! I TOLD HER THE NAME A MILLION TIMES and she would reply days later " Which assignment?" "What about that assignment?" The advisor gives massive attitude even over simple misunderstandings. They will constantly talk to you like you're an idiot and reply in extremely disrespectful ways. If I could AFFORD to leave this stupid university, I WOULD. You are better off ANYWHERE else. I would've stayed in MDC had it not been for the fact that I would have to wait an entire semester to start. And to any professor or staff that reads this, check your reviews. It is an embarrassment that you have SO many students saying the same thing. They make everything sound so quick and easy when you apply but they do not care. They just want your money. I never write reviews, but I believe I should share my thoughts about this school. As a student who has graduated from a community college with a 3.7 gpa, I can tell you this is the worst school to attend.... I started classes back in October and been disappointed since day one. Sadly I won't be returning for the following term.... Apart from this, the school is extremely expensive, yet the school offers poor education. The online courses are very poor organized, making it more likely to fail than actually pass. Professors assign many quizzes weekly, but only power points to study. Professors don't take the time to make study guides or even record lectures. All they do is assume students will figure it out. However, my biggest complaint about this school is how little professors actually care about their students and their needs. You can have an emergency or any obstacle get in the way of your studies and they are so heartless to even give you a chance. There's many classes that you need to pass with a B or higher, meaning a C is failing. Therefore, you will need to pay and retake those classes. Honestly don't waste your time or money coming to this school.... It's better going to a community college that's cheaper and you're more likely to pass than a school that wants you to fail so you can keep retaking classes and paying for them. read more

I have been attending this school for the past 3 years and to be sincere I cannot complain. I went 1 year on campus and the other two fully online. I am doing the Bachelor in Health Services Administration and every time I have had a problem they have helped me. The school is not perfect, they do mess up sometimes. My professors are really good, I can contact them at any time and they will get back to me. One of my professors even replied my text at 11:00 pm at night on a weekend. His last name is Pelaez and he teaches Principles of Business Management, very good professor :). Very disappointed with this school. I had high expectations about them. Their teachers and advisors are amazing and care about their students. But the BSN director doesn't. They lie to you and tell you the program is full but then you hear from other students that they got accepted. When I confronted them about the situation they said they know how they do things. People are nice if you speak with them. It's just a mission to speak with anyone on the phone. When I registered I was given the run around on accomplishing very simple things spending 5 days just to get registered. Just called 5 different offices, no answer. Ironically, the young ladies at the bursars office and Student services are professional are AMAZING. Also, they're tech systems and processes are outdated. Sending official transcripts to my next school is now on its 2nd week with no communication from records department regardless of the 4 messages I left during this time. I went to two other college websites and sent transcripts within hours electronically to my new school.. I also had to over pay for my monthly balance on the last week of classes just to finish the final and not be dropped when before the last week I went into the office and ask financial aid to update the balance being though it was incorrect. Low and behold I over paid to finish, then went in to get reimbursed, had to fill out a paper to ask for my money back, then took a week or more to receive it and would of took longer if I didn't link my bank account. Again, I don't hate this school or the people in it, I simply know after being at multiple universities across the country they are the most inconsistent and unprofessional I've dealt with. All employees need to have a mandatory meeting once a month so everyone's on the right page and express each others knowledge because everyone is not on the same page as the presidents mission. I think a school's review should have something from faculty(or future faculty) as well as students so you have a more rounded exposure to the inner workings of this school. A few days ago, I was contacted by a person"E.Z." claiming to be the HR Director for FNU, in response to a faculty job posting they had listed on recruiter website. During two separate phone conversations with him, I had to endure his hacking and coughing due to his "allergies" while I calmly attempted to get more information. Though his prior email stated I was supposed to meet at the S. Miami location, in both phone conversations "E.Z." told me I would be based and interviewing at their Hialeah campus. Today, when I arrived at Hialeah location...I was consequently directed to S. Miami campus. Once I got there at second floor lobby, in front of security guard, female receptionist, female student and campus dean, "E.Z." insisted on reprimanding me about the mix up in directions and scheduled time. Even though I said nothing to him but "hello". A professional would have realized the lobby was not the place to discuss such things. However, when I politely asked "E.Z." not to argue this issue, but that I was there for interview, he insisted on continuing this public display in an obvious attempt to discredit me and protect his "bruised" ego in front of staff. I knew at this point I would not receive a respectable and objective interview by this organization. Being offended and shocked by this childish, unprofessional behavior and hostile tension, from a grown man, I politely responded by saying, "this conversation is over". As I was walking down the stairs to leave, no sooner was I out of site, "E.Z.", the security guard, the campus dean, while still in front of the female receptionist and female student standing in the hallway, proceeded to laugh loudly about my walking out. I stayed on the stairwell to listen to "E.Z." continue to ridicule me while repeating his embellished story to the staff without my presence to defend. To avoid any further potential for confrontation, I left the facility never looking back. Once again this is an example of someone without the maturity or professional decorum, blindly being allowed to abuse their authority... without accountability. Consequently, well qualified faculty applicants that could be a positive influence to facility and students are being chased away. The type of behavior I encountered today from FNU management proves to me how we will be disrespected and mistreated as faculty and possibly you as students. It's my opinion, if they're so at ease to ridicule faculty and guests in their public forum, they will probably do the same to any student that they may develop a bias towards. Be reminded management of FNU, a school can not remain accredited if they fail to keep qualified faculty, or fail to provide respectable care to it's members. Also, realize, the majority of people running the HR department are not necessarily qualified to teach the programs you're trying to fill. A word of advice to potential students. If you're going to apply to FNU, as with any school, a BIG red flag, you need to be concerned as to how often a school needs to replace their instructors in any of it's programs and/or how long the faculty positions are advertised vacant. Note: Prior to my posting I made four separate good-faith attempts(at the invitation of the secretary) to keep this matter internal and communicate my concerns directly with "M.R" the president of the school based at Hialeah campus. Even though each time I spoke with the secretary politely explaining my call was important to me and the benefit of the school, "M.R." refused to accept my calls. If FNU is motivated to accept accountability for their distasteful treatment of me today and turn this into a positive outcome, I will be happy to update this review in fairness to all parties. read more

My boyfriend goes to this school. He has been going for a year now. So far I havent met a single teacher that takes his/her job seriously. He has experienced "teachers" from not caring and barely giving classes, to the ones that bully him with "you should know this already", to the one that just dont teach at all. He is paying 35000 for his degree, and the least teachers should do is give the fundamental tools for the base of his career. THEY DO NOT!!!!! If he says anything his word is taken for granted.
