I hired him last year to bring in top soil and lay sod on about 1/2 of my small backyard. When he…read morecame, it was only one person, James. (Frankly, I think he is a one man show.) A huge amount of dirt was dumped on my driveway. Rather than having a piece of equipment to carry the dirt to the backyard, he hauled it by one wheelbarrow at a time. It took him half the day just to get the dirt in the backyard. The next day, he came to lay the sod. OMG, what a fiasco! The pieces were about 2" above the existing sod. He didn't even try to taper it down to meet the existing grass. The entire thing was a mess. I ended up having to re-lay the new sod. I tried to get him back to correct it but never could seem to get him. DO NOT HIRE THEM. They (he) doesn't seem to have enough experience to be in this profession.

They buy things seasonally so their available stock rotates, but that's fine for me because it just means more trips out there! Check out Facebook for their current offerings. They have really fantastic prices on their fruit trees, and the workers there are always helpful in deciding what to buy for your particular situation. If you find a plant that's not in top condition, they are usually pretty generous about working with you on the price. Payment is via venmo/PayPal, just as an fyi.
