This is a new…read moreurgent care office in the Helena area, and my first impression of this place wasn't the greatest. We arrived around noon as walk-ins only to be told that the soonest we could be seen was 3:15 p.m. and that we'd need to come back at that time. So that's what we did. When we returned to the office we took a seat in the unkempt waiting area--there were a couple of used masks scattered around and someone left their icy-hot patch stuck to the arm of a chair. There were also some wall-mounted flat-screen TVs that weren't turned on (one of which looked like it was made around '09). The only plus side of this place was the care (which is really the most important part). The nurse was very attentive and worked quickly with blood pressure and strep, flu, and COVID tests. And the doctor (Elizabeth Deslattes, DND, ND) was extremely friendly and professional. She asked my son a lot of questions and seemed genuinely interested in his well being. Thanks to the quickly expedited consultation and exam, we were in the building for about an hour total. I will definitely come back for any urgent care needs, but the staff needs to be better aware of the state of their waiting room and clean it up from time to time. Also, turn on the TVs. Even the worst cable channel can help miserable customers/patients pass the time.

I guess I should have brought in a copy of my bank statement. I waited in the waiting room over an hour. Then I was put in the room and waited 2 hours and 14 minutes exactly before an np walked in. It took her 5 minutes to give me a prescription. I came out of the roosnd there was a big chalkboard across from my room (in the back corner no less) on the chalkboardvin big block letters it said CASH ONLY PATIENT! I was furious. Not inly dies it not matter that i paid cash...I PAID! But it is not anyone elses business that i do or do not have insurance. I pay my way like the rest of the world. What if i had been a minority or a young person struggling? Scew you and your chalkboard! Do you think they apologized either.NOPE! AGAIN. DO NOT GO HERE!​

I admit I have had to go to Medhelp in Pelham several times over this past year with respiratory infections of some sort. I have a tendency to have an awful cough day and night and the only thing that works is a cough medicine yes with (omg a narcotic). Dr. Wever's nurses and staff are wonderful but today he treated me as if I was only seeking drugs. I am writing this at 3:30am because I got prescribed "pearls" which are the equivalent to taking a tic tac so, I am awake coughing. This bodes well for my nursing students tomorrow. I realize there are people just wanting drugs and, if that was the case, I could get better drugs outside of the office if I wanted. I was there for help with this cough and, to listen to my lungs, Dr. Wever barely touched the stethoscope to my back ( in just two places) and two on the front. Never asked me to take a deep breath or even looked at my throat. He made his mind up I was only there for a tiny bottle of cough medicine, that would not get me far if my goal was to get high. I love paying a co-pay and to take time off work to be viewed the way I was, and to still be up coughing. I also didn't appreciate his nurse being the one to tell me he did not prescribe me any cough medicine. That was not her responsibility to explain why he chose not to treat my cough appropriately. The front staff and all nurses there are absolutely wonderful and this review does not reflect on them in any way. I work in healthcare and I know we all get skeptical but sometimes, just sometimes, patients need to be treated as an individual that comes in for help but instead leaves feeling worse than when they came in. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude and dismissive. She had zero care or concern for dealing with someone who's obviously sick or she wouldn't be there. No compassion. No help. Just curt and ugly. Embarrassed I referred her after I spoke so highly of MC only for her to be treated like she was just some young dumbass that didn't matter. Say you're a miserable person without saying you're a miserable person.

The person on the phone said they'd have to run the insurance card to verify so we went on in. When we got there they wouldn't verify that they would accept our insurance, even with the card, and wouldn't see my wife unless they scanned our credit card in advance. I don't know about the docs but the front desk was not helpful. We left and went a couple blocks down the street to Eminence Urgent Care and it was great.
