It was just us two and the pup. I enjoyed my time sitting on the porch in the hot tub when it was storming just as much as I did on the water. The cabin is so nice! They really go the extra mile. They had a coffee maker and 2 different coffees. There were plenty of towels and the AC is COLD!!!! The hot tub was a nice way to wind down. It's a family owned and operated business. There are only 4 or 5 cabins on the whole property. I will be back as it's only 1.5 hours away from my home in Metairie. Mrs. Janice and her family are good people. Give this place a try when you want to get away.

The best part is it's only about 2 hours from Baton Rouge about a hour from Biloxi and New Orleans. The Granny is the most secluded cabin they have. Each cabin has its our personal hot tub on the porch with we totally utilized! Each cabin has everything you need aside from groceries , charcoal and wine! The Granny is just a one bedroom but they have a couple cabins that are bigger . Your cabin sets only foot steps from a nice fishing lakes with ducks. There is a little small boat you can use for free. There is also a swing and a fire pit if you want to have a fire. This would be great for just a couples get away , a family getaway or a family reunion since there are four cabins I believe in total. The town of Poplarville is nice and seems to be a little lost in time which we really enjoyed. Our first visit we got massages I think we paid $60 each which wasn't bad. We couldn't get in touch with the lady last time though . There is a grocery store which we usually get some steaks to bbq for atleast one night. There is still a full service gas station with the old style pumps which is pretty cool. The only downside is there's not much to do and everything closes around 3pm on a Saturday except for the restaurants, gas stations, and grocery store. The only bad thing about the cabins is the owners are hard to get in touch with. Also if you like to snuggle and watch movies you may want to bring your own tv since the one in the cabin is around a 20 inch it's very small . You have to leave a message and they do call back. We were hoping to extend our stay but couldn't get them on the phone . Other than that it's a nice break from reality. All in all we will be returning because it's peaceful , the hot tub is awesome and the price isn't that bad at $125 a night .

We had a relaxed evening after a long stressful day at a very reasonable rate. It is obvious the owners/managers take real pride in building and maintaining this off-the-beaten path gem. Spotless bathhouse, full service, think the pull-thru gravel sites are 50 amp and the back-in concrete 30 amp. Rec room, playground, trail, campfire ring and table at site. Highly recommend - yes, it's a few mi. off 49 to get there (maybe 7-8 mi.), but it's a pretty country drive and away from most of the traffic noise. Oh! There are cabins too.

Their kindness and patience was much appreciated. We drove several hours and called rv parks that were supposedly opened 24/7 however no one answered their phones except here. We were traveling with two young children, thank you for not only answering your phones but going Above and beyond to take care of us. As far as the environment here, it is peaceful, relaxing, clean and beautiful. I would highly recommend this place!

Electric, water and sewage hookup included in the very reasonable daily rates. Small charcoal grill provided at each campsite. The small roads throughout the park are paved and are great to ride around in a golf cart. There is a large playground and other activities for the kids and there are several small beaches to go swimming. For those who want to rough it and go camping with a tent there are restrooms and showers available. Washing machines and dryers are located behind the business office. If you plan on bringing a boat there are 2 boat launches and a docking area located in the rear of the campground. There is a no wake zone along the entire campground. Since it's a very popular getaway I recommend you book 2 weeks in advance especially if you plan on spending a weekend. No WiFi

We had a nice spot on the river.....but when the weekend rolled around, it turned into a trashy neighborhood block party. Drunk people, golf carts flying up and down the road, and unsupervised children everywhere. Loud music at alllllllllll hours of the night. An equally ridiculous amount of boat traffic on the river- and it was like a competition to see who could blast their not-family-friendly music the loudest. No peace, no quiet, no respect for others, and not a single park rule enforced. There's a gate with a code, but what's the point of it??? All of the crazy is INSIDE the park! The campsites are fairly close together, so parking is limited...throw in a million vehicles, trailers, and golf carts, and it's a nightmare to maneuver through the park. There is a posted speed limit, which is obviously more of a suggestion than a rule because no one follows it. It was a nightmare just trying to walk our dog because of the constant traffic. This may be exactly the kind of place you're looking for, but for my family, it was terrible. Highly unlikely that we will return.

This year we stayed for our families July 4th reunion and had an excellent time until the new manger tried to charge us another $400 (on top of the $630). We were flabbergasted. Apparently their campsites are rated for only 2 adults & 2 children, and you pay so much extra per person, PER DAY. That would total $1000 for two campsites for 5 nights (yes, it was also a holiday). You can stay for the same amount of time at Paradise Ranch in Tylertown or Yogibear for less amount than that and they offer so much more for families. THANKFULLY, we were able to speak directly with the owners and had the issue resolved, but we definitely will not be back if this is what they charge, which is sad because the place is very nice and isn't crowded. We didn't have to worry about others running over our children with golf carts or loud parties. For the most part, the restrooms are clean, and the grounds are kept cut. I do appreciate the cameras they have around the park and the locked gate in the front. The boardwalk is a nice touch for sight seeing. Our friend stayed in the cabin and didn't have any complaints. Overall, as long as the prices aren't raised, we will return.
