I hired Wendy back in April 2025 to prepare my 2024 taxes. At first, communication was great -- she…read morewas friendly, professional, and quick to respond about filing extensions. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. After April, responses became few and far between. I reached out multiple times throughout May, June, July, August, and even into October, each time being told my return was "in progress" or would be ready soon. Despite months of patience and understanding, my taxes were never completed. Now, it's the last day to file, and I still haven't received a single finalized document or even a follow-up message. Six months is far too long to be waiting on a return, especially with no updates or clear communication. Wendy was polite in every message, but professionalism also means being timely, transparent, and reliable -- and unfortunately, that did not happen here. I've since had to move on to another preparer just to make sure my taxes are filed correctly and on time. Friendly person, but very poor communication and reliability. I wouldn't recommend if you need your taxes done in a timely manner. Update I spoke with Wendy Skaggs, EA on 10/15/2025 after discovering that my taxes were never filed on time -- resulting in late fees and penalties. She refused to cover those costs and claimed there was a system failure and even a possible data breach. If you filed through her or this business, please check your financial accounts immediately and consider placing credit freezes or fraud alerts as a safety measure. What's most concerning is that she never communicated the issue and kept it hidden from her clients. I was deployed during this timeframe and trusted her to handle my filing, which makes this situation even more disappointing. I'm sharing this to warn others before trusting their personal or financial information to this business.

Last year, while perusing FaceBook, I happened to see a post from the owner of the doggie day care joint I take Dante to and she was raving about this accountant who did her taxes. Knowing that I would need to find one eventually, I quickly got Ben's number from her. Ben is great. He got me more money back this year and saved me headaches and money related arguments married people tend to have this time of year. His pricing was pretty awesome, too. I would highly recommend calling him up if you need any financial services/advice/taxes.

I called to get a quote for my taxes and an amendment. I was very specific in what my situation was…read moreand was told that the preparation would be no more than $250.00. I made an appointment(the first of which Brenda cancelled so she could go on vacation) and dropped off my taxes. A week later I called to see if my taxes were done. They said I could pick them up the following day so I asked how much it would be so that I could have a check ready. I was told it would be $520.00 for the regular taxes not including the amendment. I asked to speak wiht Brenda and explained that I was quoted $250 and gave her the name of ther person that gave me the qote and that the person that gave me the quote told me specifically that they were putting the quote in the computer at the time I made the appointment. Brenda offered to drop the charge for the ammendment. I was still not happy because I was paying over double what I was quoted. My husband picked up the taxes and paid for them, however, I have sent Brenda several emails asking for her to follow up with me regarding the quote and she will not respond. I then had a friend call and get a quote for a similar filing situation and that person was also quoted between $200 and $300. This is a classic case of bait and switch. Do not use her services.
