My original CubeSmart rate at the Miramar Beach, FL location (Unit 111) was $178.20, and without…read moreany meaningful notice it was raised to $231 -- a 29.6% increase. When I anonymously called CubeSmart on December 1, I was quoted $154.20 for the exact same unit size that I'm currently being charged $231 for. I spoke with the on-site manager, Lisa, multiple times. She told me she emailed and left voicemails for District Manager Eugene Ware, and I left him a voicemail as well -- but I have never received a response. No follow-up, no explanation, no transparency. I'm a single mother with a long-term lease in the area and will need storage for many months, so CubeSmart is risking losing thousands of dollars in long-term business over this. If this issue is not resolved, I plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and will continue posting reviews to inform others. This experience has been extremely disappointing and feels unfair and lacking in integrity.

Had an average to below average experience until the end, when it went to HORRIBLE…read more I gave notice that I would be vacating the storage unit on 9/18 about 45 days in advance. When I came in to verify, the manager, "Bubba" (yes, that is his real name) asked me specifically to let him know as soon as we were out of the unit (even though i had paid until 9/30) as "he is full, and has a list of people waiting". So, when I came in to check out of the unit on 9/19, I asked if they put someone in the unit early, if I would get the prorated amount back for the time the new person was in until the end of the month. Bubba went nuts, just kept screaming "Month to Month", when I tried to ask a question, that is all he said over and over. He is the most unprofessional person I have ever met. I never told him he was wrong, or it was unfair as I'm sure that is what my 3 page tiny-typed contract says, but I was just asking a question. All he had to say was NICELY that the contract doesn't work that way. He then screamed at me saying "You can come down and leave a lock on it until the 30th". Well, that doesn't do me any good, and I'm not a vengeful jerk like he was being. I was just asking a question to see how the process worked, as MOST places don't try to double dip. I paid 215.00 on time every month for 7 months, and really didn't deserve to be treated the way I was. I would NEVER go to this place again, and would NOT recommend this to anyone, as you could tell Bubba has no social skills and obviously has anger problems. When we moved in, we were trying to get the truck situated, and he came out and yelled at us then about where we were driving the truck - I should have known then, but it was too late and I needed the storage. Please do NOT use this place, people like this don't deserve your money.
