The staff hasn't been kind and, frankly, I'm sick of being barked at by them. Would be different if actual dogs ran the thrift store. I cannot support people that consistently disrespect others. He has behavioral issues and has bitten both my husband and myself on multiple occasions, once needing stitches. He is hypothyroid and takes medicine daily for that. The Welsh terrier had hip surgery (AFO) before he was one year old. He eats his food so fast that he would bloat terribly afterward and have pain so we hand fee him. If you take time to research this puppy mill breeder you will find multiple violations and other buyers that had the same or similar problems with their dogs. Responsible breeders don't breed multiple breeds!

They even asked us to keep in touch to let us know how she's doing. I dealt with one of the owners, Lex. He gave us a wealth of information on the breed, whether she would be right for our family and what to expect, he was more than happy to answer all of our questions. He handed us off to an employee for check out who was just as knowledgeable. They gave us good information on dog care places in the area also. We recently took our puppy to the vet for her first checkup and the vet said she is very healthy and from good breeding stock. Highly recommend!

But, oh my, we had problems from day one. She would get car sickness, so we couldn't go anywhere on the spur of the moment because we had to give her meds. Emma didn't like being held. She was very sweet but not a cuddly dog. She would get ear infections, anal gland problems, she had allergies, bladder (crystal) problems, weak patellas, and finally we lost her from liver disease a few months before her 9th birthday. It was so heartbreaking because it came on so quickly. And it's so painful to lose a dog that my husband still gets teary eyed talking about her. The other thing is that she was suppose to weigh 7-8 lbs, but she weighed 13, and she wasn't overweight!! We now have a Shih-poo that we purchased from a local breeder. She was so tiny and so sweet and lovable. From when we first saw her, she would follow me and jump at me to pick her up. Since we brought her home, she has to be with me constantly, but still gives my husband a lot of attention. She's not a barker, and the friendliest little girl. I would highly recommend getting a dog from a breeder that you can go and meet the puppy, spend time with it to see how you both interact. If the dog doesn't like being held, or seems distant, that will be its personality. We've had a lot of dogs over the years, and the ones we personally met and spent time with were the best. Maybe our Emma was one off with this breeder, I don't know. But Emma was at the vet so often, and I was thankful that we were fortunate to be able to afford all that expense. Many people can't. The internet face they show is very deceptive. Go to the Dept of Ag web site and check licenses and inspection reports. Google the address. This location is right in the heart of commercial breeders zone. I do not recommend this place and hope you do your research before purchasing here. Even if your puppy did not get sick, you are contributing to the breeding of the mother.

I first contacted Pat seeking a male basset hound in early 2017. She shared she had one male left…read morefrom a litter born 1.6-my birthday-so I requested to have information regarding that puppy. Pats communication with me required repeated prompting throughout the process. It took an act of Congress to get pictures of the puppy and she would not send pictures of the parents. On the day we went and got our puppy, pat met us at Walmart as she shared she does not let anyone see her kennels so as not to disturb the other dogs. I had never purchased from a breeder before and sometimes pretend live in a rose colored world and think I can trust others. When Pat arrived, she threw the puppy at me and shared she had never made this mistake before...the male puppy was actually a female puppy. My husband and I struggled with this as we wanted a male as we already have a female. Playing with the puppy, we realized there were some walking issues. Pats story changed a few times. At first Pat shared the dog had never walked before, then said the dog had never walked on grass before. Hmmmm. The puppy also had scars on her back and head. The one on her back is a perfectly straight line-Pat said all were due to the mother nipping and teaching the puppy. We decided to make it work with the female puppy. During the first vet visit our vet was very concerned regarding joint, ligaments, formation of bones...We did X-rays went to a specialist, etc. The vet shared the scars on her head may have been from the mother or other dogs but dogs don't bite in straight lines so the scar on her back is a mystery. I contacted Pat to inform her as I was very upset. I told Pat I would keep her updated regarding a diagnosis as I thought she would want to know if hip dysplasia or something genetic came about. Pat told me I could drive the 4 hours back and she would resell the puppy as a "special needs dog." Pat then refused to communicate with me and shared further communication would need to be through lawyers. Our puppy requires daily special medicine for her pain while walking, she often limps and yelps in pain. We will have to continue to see specialists for the rest of her life. The specialists we have been to share our puppy is likely the product of over breeding and careless breeding and likely was never allowed out of a cage. They have suggested if her pain progresses it would be a quality of life issue. there are other issues: She is aggressive; food aggressive, toy aggressive, anytime and anything with no trigger aggressive. We have done multiple obedience classes and are hiring a personal trainer to deal with her specific issues. She does not understand the social cues other dogs give her. Thankfully, my husband and I are vigilant and stop play before it turns ugly. we have had a dog sitter refuse to watch her as she is "too difficult." Our puppy is also below breed standard so we wonder if perhaps she was a runt. And unfortunately we have not cured her of feces eating....Many things have lead us to believe our puppy suffered and was neglected prior to coming to us-too much for a yelp review. I shutter to think what would have happened had we not saved this puppy.
