The prices range from £0.25p to £20.00, but most items range from £1.00 - £4.00!!!!! It is the best bargain shop, best for daily essentials.

There is nothing that makes this store worth travelling miles just to see (it is, after all, just a grocer-type place) but when your are here you'll see that it is worthy of it's four stars. It does indeed sell everything you would expect of a convenience store - with a healthy alcohol section (substantial, not necessarily good for you) - but that should only really equate to 3 stars in my eyes. The fourth star is awarded for the level of cleanliness and the sense of order here at G Express. ALL of the aisles are well stocked with a large variety of goods, neat, tidy well arranged. But the best part of it is that G Express became the first place where it was so clean I could see my own reflection in the floor! THE FLOOR! Alright, it's not like looking straight into a mirror but the are definite outlines and facial features visible, I could clearly see me - in the floor! Awesome floor. That aside, the staff are all quite chilled and friendly and an impressive modern computer system is running there which includes a large flat-screen TV which doubles up as their CCTV when their not watching football or their favourite show. This was always a popular store for as long as i can remember. It used to be owned by someone else up until a few years ago, and the new owners have really improved the shop. It used to be really run down with only one half of the shop in operation. I think the other half was used for storage, which was a waste. Then the new owners came in and really gave it a vibrant look. With the fresh fruit and veg outside, it really looks like a market stall, until you go inside and it becomes a standard newsagents. This is apart from the half that used to be used as storage. now, that half is like a mini-market. It sells a wide range of foods as well as the standard milk and bread. This shop also has a prepay service, so you can pay in your bills or charge you electric key, if you do pay as you go. It also sells mobile top up vouchers. If it only did oyster top ups, then it will be perfect, although there are 2 other shops around the corner that do oyster top ups, so its not that much of a big inconvenience.

I also never found the supermarket particuarly clean and tidy it wasn't by far one of Sainsbury's best outlets I have been to a very nice one in Woking and the difference is massive. Although... As of November 2008 they are extending and refurbishing which is long overdue. I have yet to go but if it is good I just might start shopping in Sainsburys instead. Watch this space

What a great little store this is, punching well above its weight…read more Located less than a mile from the Town Centre, with free parking at the back of the store off Vale Road or on street, its easy to get in and out of when you are in a hurry. Unlike Tesco! For a smallish store it certainly has plenty of choice. I've never been unable to find what I want/need or a suitable alternative and whilst it might be classed as a convenience store you don't pay conveinience store prices as its part of a big group. Their membership (loyalty) scheme is one of the best and can be paid straight into your bank account or you can opt for vouchers, or donate some or all of your 'Share of the profits' to community projects. No messing about with points or prizes! I love the fact they were the first to promote Fairtrade and support green issues long before their rivals or before it became trendy. As a 'Member' you also get a real say on how the Co-op is run. The store also has an off licence, lottery machine, pay point, sells newspapers etc. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about what they sell. A real asset in the community!
