I have a small yorkie who has some health conditions that the vet knows his history. Well he had been chewing on a rubber band which he had swallowed did not get choked but I was still concerned. So I take him to the vet just to have him checked out and maybe there was something I could do or they could. It was not life threatening. I know I did not have an appointment and expected to have to wait till they could fit me in which that was no problem I totally understand that but then the receptionist tells me there will be a $75.00 emergency fee and I was still going to have to wait. I don't know what they consider an emergency they sure weren't going to treat it like it was. An emergency to me is right away care I'm not sure why they were going to charge me that, It's not like the vet was closed they were open I just didn't have an appointment which is really sad not like you know when your pet is going to need to be looked at. And also $75.00 plus the examination he would of had done. I just couldn't justify this so I left went to another vet there in princeton which is strictly walkins. They gave him something to make him throw up which he did with the rubberband and charged me $68.00 and I wasn't there 30 minutes which I was well pleased with. Just seems like to me since the county seat has moved up in the business world they don't seem to be a nice as they were.

Our boxer dog and boxer mix dog seemed to have had a pretty great 3 days there! The owner was very nice and professional each time we talked to him from calling ahead and asking questions to dropping the dogs off and picking them up. He even helped us to load up our dogs, their toys and dog beds up in our car when we picked them up. The price for boarding was very, very reasonable. In fact, cheaper than I thought it would be! We have never boarded anywhere else so when I called around and asked questions and pricing from other local places before hand, let me tell you, this is the best prices you will find in the Gibson/Vanderburgh Counties area. Also, we are going to have to go back and purchase the dog food he was feeding them as one of our dogs is a very picky eater and no matter what we do, sometimes she just doesn't eat very well, and apparently she ate very well during her stay! The owner openly admitted to booking herself hourly with a different dog. She's running a dog grooming business like a doctors office, despite that properly grooming a lot of breeds (like my mothers Schnauzer she's butchered on more than one occasion) takes a full hour just to brush prior to the bath I give her. I showed and handled dogs for several years as a young girl. Only as a novice, so i didn't show long enough to further my handling career due to college but long enough to learn basics and this woman isn't fooling me. You can't properly brush, trim, wash and bath, then dry and brush out breeds with a tendency to matte, all in an hour without corner cutting. Also, there's the fact that mom's Schnauzer cut request, you know, for the Schnauzer dog she owns, is either blown off or simply not able to be fulfilled secondary to lack of basic grooming education, and is returned to mom looking like some kind of methed-out version of a Chinese crested disaster. Save yourself the cash and your pups self image and move on to a more reputable groomer.
