I moved to CT 6 years ago... say hi to Covid. Once life returned to our new normal, I was in need & I mean really needed to find a dentist. During covid, my back tooth cracked, a crown broke, it was just all not good. Going to see Dr. Salesky and his team was the smartest thing I've done. Judgement free and an amazing staff. The first thing he asked me is "what don't I like about my smile". At first I was a bit surprised since the back of my mouth needed help but I told him one of my teeth looks discolored. Well not only did Dr. Selensky and his team jump into action repairing the back teeth but before I left, he had adjusted the shade of my front area tooth and it was like a gift. Gentle, kind, patient and so very thoughful. That is for everyone in the office. They all go above and beyond. Simply amazing. My message: Don't be afraid, just call and I know you will feel the same way. I've been with him now for a few years and he takes his time discussing options, your choice always and while my teeth were not in amazing shape, I trusted him and today I left there with tears in my eyes because my smile had never looked better. I went there not knowing my dental medical was not active they didn't say anything until they was done with the procedure of trying to up sale me on the most expensive procedures available when I was done it was $600 and they said my dental is not active so I had to pay them cash and on my credit card until I com back with my dental papers when I did they never refunded my money at all read more

I am very disappointed in the practice. I was referred by my dentist of 20 years because he closed down his private practice. I made appointment for teeth cleaning in July for a November appointment. All my records were sent. When I sat in the chair the hygienist said she will check my insurance to see if xrays were covered. She came back and took a full xray of my mouth. 2 weeks later I get a bill for close to 600 dollars. I called the office and spoke with someone in billing. She seemed understanding and insured me she will call me back. She never did after 3.5 wks I feel duped and taken advantage of. I find the approach just greedy and pimping off a elderly woman like myself. New patients beware!! I will find another provider and speak with my carrier about the ethical nature of this atrocity on a elderly woman like myself. read more

From the minute I walked in everyone was friendly and helpful. This was my first time here but I felt like an old friend. They were very busy but it did not seem like they were rushing anyone. I was taken a little bit past my appointment time due to an emergency. I understood completely. It's good to know that, should the situation arise, I would be given that same consideration. The care was superb, gentle, and painless. Everything was explained before anything was done. I was put at ease and reassured every step of the way. They made clear all the instructions and required follow-up procedures. They were not satisfied until I was. You know, it's a dentist, and no one looks forward to going to the dentist, but this experience was one that removed all anxiety and apprehension from the equation. I can now go to my next appointments smiling going in and of course, going out. My experience at Southington Dental was great...as soon a you walk in the door you are greeted by the front office staff who are friendly, welcoming and are the nicest professionals you could ever meet. My dental assistant for the day was Marcala she was professional , friendly, caring and outgoing. Marcela ask me for a update as far as have I had any issues with my teeth ,gums, any discomfort or change since my last visit.. My teeth cleaning was professional and gental without any discomfort. After my cleaning Dr Zelinski came into the room with the same professionalism giving me a update on what and how to continue my progress. What can I say about Dr. Neal Salesky and his practice? I can say plenty. Let's just say it's been a while since I have seen a dentist, I have relocated 5 times in 5 years, and things like dental care sometimes take a back seat. So I needed a 50,000 mile tune up, plenty of work to be done. Dr. S. promised me a pain free experience and at 51 years old I have been to dentists many many times and never heard that promise because no one has ever been able to keep it. Well, let's just say I needed a bunch of work done and to my great joy, Dr. S kept his promise. I had a pain free experience from beginning to end. If you don't like dentists because you are scared of pain, this is the guy for you, even the novacaine shots I did not feel. If you read my 100+ other reviews you will note that I tell it like it is. I don't know anyone who enjoys going to the dentist. I actually never minded it until I got older and understood/guessed what dentists were actually doing during visits! It can be frightening. I have been searching around for a dentist for a while because it's been a long time coming. Stumbled upon Southington Dentistry on Yelp, and I'm glad I did because they made going to the dentist less frightening for me. The dental hygienist talked me through everything she was doing, and the dentist was very friendly and the overall visit was fast and efficient. I must also give major credit to the staff up front. They were so friendly on the phone and accommodating for my appointments when I finally came in. One woman up front helped me work out scheduling appointments in order to benefit most from my insurance. That was very helpful for me and I'm grateful for that. Under quoted me by +$400!! I was in tears when I was handed my new statement, forced to sign it that I would pay it. Keep in mind, the world is in a crisis and I was told 'everyone is going through it'. In other words, the Dentist needs to pay his second mortgage on his summer home, so the bill stands. This might not be true, but this was my interpretation of how the situation was handled. I now have a $700 bill hanging over my head during this crisis because I needed dental work done. I know a lot has to do with what Insurance will cover, but at the end of the day, this private practice makes the decision of what to charge their patience. The folks in this dentist office are the nicest, most caring and patient people I've ever met. They will take a LOT of extra time to make their patients feel completely comfortable in any situation. After suffering from dentist-phobia for YEARS, I can say that I actually like going to the dentist. I only wish they were a member of my insurance company's preferred provider network (Delta Dental). All I wanted was a cleaning. I went in knowing that you were not an Aetna preferred provider. Was informed that usually it is about $20 more for a cleaning. I got billed over $200.00 on top of what my insurance paid for my "cleaning". I have been going to a different dentist in town since and am not required to pay anything additional. I had a root canal done in Wallingford CT he was a specialist but yet he did not know he was doing a root canal on a tooth that was cracked. The tooth should have never had a canal done. I was in severe pain for days after and went back to Wallingford specialist after a week of serious pain. He said the canal was infection and gave me antibiotics. 5-days went by and pain had gotten worse. So I went on yelp for the first time and found Southington Dentistry, they are sent-from HEVEN. He had given me meds to kill infection and pain. Meds cured pain and feeling so much better. Tooth will be extradited after antibiotics kick in. Unlike the other dentist who did not wanna provide anything for infection before doing root canal . I would like to that Jesus for directing me to Southington Dentistry. They really care. I came to Dr Salesky after being referred from a friend. I was impressed as soon as I called to make the appointment. The office staff are all very friendly and helpful and even called a week early to see if I wanted to come in earlier since they had a cancellation. Nicole was very nice and not only explained everything, but showed me the pictures of my teeth and the problem,s which was helpful because my old dentist office didnt explain anything. She was very knowledgeable and made the visit very comfortable. Dr Salesky was also very nice and explained the options available and his suggested plan. It had been an embarrassingly long time since I had been to the dentist on a regular basis. ALL the prior experiences I had were painful and super stressful to the point I became absolutely terrified to go. A little over a year ago I had a broken tooth and decided to give it one more try. I could never have expected how easy Dr. Salesky and his team would make it. I literally had tears in my eyes and was shaking like a leaf. He was WONDERFUL calming and I had ZERO pain. Although I am a senior I thought it was a good time to change dentists. The dentist I had for four decades in a different town has been very good and extremely hard working. He is now in his late 70's and his patience has slipped so I decided to see Dr. Salesky. He talked with me about my concerns and fixed a dental problem my previous dentist inexplicably didn't.
