After returning to this practice following a few months away, I was genuinely shocked by the level of unprofessionalism I encountered. Dr. P immediately made unnecessary comments about my vacation destination, revealing a surprising lack of basic geographical awareness. He then shifted into odd commentary about my birthday celebration -- remarks that were irrelevant, inappropriate, and frankly unwelcome. Throughout the appointment, Dr. P spoke far more than any chiropractor I've ever seen, and unfortunately, his conversations consistently veered into tangents that had nothing to do with chiropractic care. Many of these comments were rude, dismissive, and completely out of line for a healthcare setting. The most concerning moment occurred as I was leaving. I asked a simple question about using a foam roller for a "snowman" exercise, and he responded by accusing me of being racist -- then corrected himself and said I was being sexist for saying "snowman" instead of "snowwoman." This kind of crass, performative humor is not only unprofessional but deeply uncomfortable, especially for young women seeking care. After reading another woman's negative experience, I felt compelled to share mine. Women should be aware that this practice requires a thick skin for abrasive behavior, inappropriate commentary, and an overall lack of respect from the doctor. To make matters worse, I had even considered his referral to another chiropractor closer to my home. That experience turned out to be even worse in terms of professionalism. Based on both encounters, I do not believe these environments are safe or appropriate for young women seeking chiropractic care. Additionally, during my visit, the staff was printing hundreds of "free exam" invitations and asked me to refer friends. I called the next day and made it clear that while I am happy to recommend local contacts, the doctor's conduct must be addressed -- otherwise new patients will walk out just as I did. Although Dr. P may be technically competent, the environment he creates is unacceptable. Based on my experience and the experiences of other women, I will not return and strongly caution others -- especially young women -- before considering this practice or any referrals associated with it. read more

I have been through the mill with my back, 30 plus years of construction sure has taken its toll but Southport has "had my back" ( no pun intended) for the 5 years I have been going. They have taken great care to promote my well being and although the damage has been done and I will never truly be out of the woods, I am doing much better in general. I have been to other chiropractors over the years, but not one took x-rays before adjusting me until I went to Southport Chiropractic. They showed me exactly what was going on with my spine and neck, and told me for the first time (and showed me on the x-rays) that I had a small curve in the bottom of my spine that nobody ever noted before and was actually the cause of a lot of my issues. Having doctors who take the time to do a thorough examination makes all the difference in the world. People comment on how straight I stand now, and I can turn my neck for the first time in years. Let me begin by saying, I have never been a big fan of chiropractic care. I was in a very bad car accident, have been sent to many doctors, which eventually led me to Dr. Pinsky at Southport Chiropractic. This is the first time I have received actual help resulting in short and long-term effects. In the almost 3 years that I have endured these problems and pains, this is the first time I can turn my head to the left. I can also go through days without back spasms and my hip feels so much better! My overall pain has decreased and my mobility and range of motion have significantly increased. Almost as incredible as this experience is the environment and the staff. I do not feel like I am in a medical office. There was none of that rush in - get pushed out. The receptionists are welcoming, and during my first visit, provided a perfect explanation of their procedures. Each time I have been there there has virtually been no wait. Incredible. (I have waited for doctors for well over an hour.) Dr. Pinsky strikes a perfect balance of professionalism and kindness. He clearly understands that being friendly helps to relax the patient which must make chiropractic procedures easier to conduct and definitely more comfortable to receive. I'm very selective on any of all my Doctors, but when a well-known lawyer recommended me to this male / owner of the practice, Dr. Pinsky, - I thought for sure, HE would be a professional. Unfortunately, from day one the conversation was very "familiar" by him and asked me personal questions on my health - and then went to different "personal" questions about my single-hood & dating apps. I specifically asked - "what makes you feel so comfortable you can ask me these questions". It just seemed odd. But I thought I maybe was being too aware. Afraid not, I should have followed my gut instincts. After a few months of seeing the practice and enjoying the relief of continuous major headaches, I trusted the other two doctors in the practice and I also had my three daughters seen, evaluated and treated by them all. Thankfully conversations in front of my daughters were cordial. However, my last visit - turned out to be a lesson for all of my daughters and I. As we were walking out of the office where Pinsky just treated my eldest daughter and myself, Pinsky pinched me on my butt. I was shocked. But then he followed it up with whispering in my ear "I guess now you can tell everyone I sexually harrassed you, just like the way it's all over the media". This was in front of my daughters, thankfully they didn't see or hear what he had said - however, as i replied, in front of them and the assistant i said "yes, i'm sure you need to be extremely careful in this type of practice how you handle your patients. it can go bad quite quickly." I was pretty shaken up as we left quickly after that. I turned cold toward him immediately and shuffled my daughters out the door and told them, "we won't be going back". When they asked, I explained, doctors are people we should trust - and he chose to treat me this way. They were all furious. and as a teaching moment, i made sure they understood that this is NEVER welcomed or asked for by any doctor or anyone they don't consent to. Thankfully, they all understand and respect themselves and now see how much I respect myself. Please don't recommend anyone to see Pinsky. I did like the other two doctors - but I am uncomfortable returning. So this is my verbal testimony - and if need be, share it with whom you can. First off, when I select a doctor, i do not want to be "worked on" by their partner. If I schedule an appointment with one Doctor, I expect to be treated by him/her. This is not the case with the Chiropractic Helth & Wellness. It is like a free for all in that office. One nice thing I do have to say is that it is very clean and most of the equipment is new/in good condition. Second, BILLING. This was a HUGE problem. I have a well-known and widely-used insurance company, Aetna. Everyone knows it; a lot fo people use it. For "some reason", the office was not submitting claims for the services they billed me, which I am pretty sure is illegal. I overpaid and the answer I received was "we will see how we can reimburse you, but we are not sure if we will be able to". I have been seeing a chiropractor for 8 years or so. Presently I see Dr. King. I have been very happy with him. My monthly fee is what I would have paid as a copay in another state, and so this is so affordable for me. The office is open late on Thursdays, and this is helpful with regards to my work schedule.
