The facility is clean and well lit, and everyone appeared to enjoy being there, even with someone showing up at closing. When I left Dr Turner's office, I had paid a copay and about $50 worth of NATURAL supplements. I think his supplements are very reasonable and very helpful. My insurance covered this appointment because he was seeing me for a certain condition and weight loss. If I saw him for just weight loss, my insurance would not have covered that. If you read the innovative medicine website, it is clear that most insurances don't cover weight loss and this is where most people complain. Have you ever looked at your EOB when you've gotten it in the mail? It will tell you how much the dr bills for each visit and every doctor I know charges between 150-250 depending on their specialty. When I found out my insurance was not going to cover any of the costs, as first told to me by the office, I requested a detailed invoice for any current charges and a refund for the money that was left. I felt like I had a sinus infection, bad headache (I never get headaches), sinus pressure, stuffed up, run down, all the symptoms. WellNow is around the corner from me, so it should have been an easy decision. After checking in, I had a short wait and was guided to an exam room. I described my symptoms to the nurse and was told to wait. A few minutes later the nurse practioner, Rebecca, comes in and very brusquely tells me that I have a virus and needed to see a functional medicine doctor because I have mold in my body. Really? I used to get sinus infections all the time when I lived in Texas, and still get them once or twice a year. Rebecca is younger, probably 25, and it's doubtful she spent much time as a nurse seeing patients. Rebecca them throws open the door and tells me "We're done here," stomps out and throws her pen on her desk. I replied "Thank you" and left. I then went to another urgent care where the NP was closer to my age and probably had a lot more experience seeing patients and is willing to listen to them. She said I had a sinus infection and wrote a prescription for an antibiotic. I cannot recommend WellNow with an NP with a bad attitude and unwilling to listen to how a patient feels.
