I live up in midtown now and still make the 30 min drive whenever I need to go see him...he has the BEST bedside manner, makes you feel like you're one of his friends, AND he always gives your medicine to you from his sample closet so you don't have to spend money on prescriptions. I think I've had TWO prescriptions filled from him in the nine years i've been with him. My whole family goes to him and just absolutely adores him. He is a birth to geriatrics doctor so take your babies, take your friends, take your grandma - Doctor Lockwood can service them all (with a smile!) After going to several doctors and specialists since I was 15 to try and figure out what was wrong with my stomach, Dr. Lockwood did a simple blood test and found out I was allergic to dairy - that's all it took! I can't say enough amazing things about Dr. Lockwood...I love him so much. He really takes care of me and my loved ones like no Doctor I've ever met before. Mismanaged time is expected, & there is no hospitality or care for their patients. Again, please do not waste your time here. Shantel Bryant not only tried to turn a blind eye to the fact that her medical assistant did a bad blood draw on me, even after the girl admitted it, but she also got hostile and hung up the phone on me for asking her to pay the $77 imaging fee to have my arm looked at for blood clot etc. She had the audacity to state "blood draws don't cause blood clots, especially when done with a butterfly needle." This statement shows Shantel's lack of medical knowledge. Not only is she not a nurse, there is no doctor at this facility. Which concerns me. How can you call yourself a "doctor's office" with no doctor practicing in the building. If you end up at this facility ask to speak to the doctor before being seen. I will never use them again! I informed them we needed a follow up as per the on call physician and added that she had a fall two weeks prior and we needed to check on a small crack in her pelvis that had been treated by an emergency doctor in Alabama. The representative offered the first abvailable appoinment 12 weeks away (October 14). She then had only one available virtual appointment five days later that didn't work and put me on a waiting list for the following Friday. I called today to inform them I am changing practices as the new facility was able to see her as a NEW patient within the week. I called Emory to inform them of our change and to take us of their waiting list and the attendant on that call said they had tried to call later that 1st day to schedule an appointment and neither my mother nor I, as her POA and prefered contact, received that call. We initially chose Emory as long time residents of GA and I would never suggest anyone at any age or health level choose Emory. I will say I liked Dr O'Neal and believe she would admit she is overworked if I had had the opportunity to speak with her. There are many Primary Care Practices for Seniors that make healthcare a priority. Emory does not fall in that category.
