After living majority of my life with extremely large breasts, I finally decided to look into a…read morebreast reduction/lift this summer (2023). As a 32 year old woman with no kids still, I was a bit hesitant in moving forward with the actual procedure , however with a free consult I decided to check it out. I met Dr Larsen and his staff at Buckhead Plastic four weeks prior to my actual surgery date. He was the only plastic surgeon I decided to meet with (some of the others in town wanted to charge me for a consult that would be applied to my surgery, which I thought was a bit odd for a medical procedure) but the one meeting was enough for me to decide I wanted to work with him and his team. On top of that, I heard through friends I know in aesthetics that Dr Larsen was the owner of the Chastain Surgery Center, which in my opinion, says a lot about a doctors success in their profession. From my very first appointment (consult), I felt very comfortable in a situation that isn't "so comfortable" for any woman insecure. The bedside manor of Dr Larsen and his employees made me feel so comfortable, and they were relatable (my nurse told me she had actually had a breast reduction herself)! I received my official "quote" or "consult" (not sure what this is technically called in plastics?) but decided to move forward immediately. One week after my consult, I was able to schedule my breast reduction for several weeks away. During my pre op with Dr Larsen, he probably spent an hour with me (because he is a human and I can talk), which just confirmed once again why I moved forward with this. His ability to make me feel comfortable (first time surgery girl here), but also the time he spent getting to know me, made me feel like he was invested in helping me achieve my desired look. Just. So. Nice. I could make this review go on forever, because of how incredibly changed my life is. I am 6 days post op, and could cry with my incredible results (I did almost cry at my 2nd post op yesterday where I literally gave Dr Larsen a hug). For the first time in my life (after puberty), I am so excited about my boobs! From the staff at the surgery center, the staff at Buckhead Plastic, and Dr Larsen, my anesthesiologist (who's name I cant remember), everyone! Thank you. Dr Larsen and his team have completely changed my life, and I am so happy with my decision of working with him and his team.

An ambulance picked me up from the surgery center after excessive bleeding and bruising was noted on my back were I had lipo of the flanks. I spent 6/18, 6/19 and 6/20/21 at Northside Hospital as a result of the blood loss from this surgery. I was iced down with ice packs and received blood transfusions because I was bleeding out. I was anemic for weeks following the hospitalization but thankful to be alive. I could have left 3 children behind with no mother as a result of this. I received my medical record from this practice and Dr. Larsen notes in there that I would leave a negative review in my medical record!!! I was bleeding out as a result of surgery and could have had a heart attack and died but he was concerned about a possible negative review so much he added that to my medical record. I have the ability to share my experience. I paid a premium for Horrible treatment both surgically and personally. I was excited to spend $16k with Buckhead Plastic for a procedure that Denise recommended--a tummy tuck and flank lipo. As a result, I paid that and have over $32k in hospital bills from my stay at Northside Hospital post operatively. I was mocked when I requested a refund and I was released as a patient as Dr. Larsen detailed I sent hostile emails. They do not like receiving anything other than praise so expressing disappointment is construed as hostile. I filed a complaint with the Georgia Medical Board as a result of his failure to provide proper antibiotics post treatment in addition to all of the above. If you have a bad experience, you need to make the medical board aware as I did. It was not a good experience for me. I do not have the body I wanted. I have paid a premium and he has refused to refund any portion. He offered to operate again and perform "clean up" and I declined given the initial experience, my anemic state and lack of confidence in his ability. I had seroma and hematoma was a result of him fitting me in a garment too loose at Northside Hospital. If I would have read the reviews I would never selected this practice. I was in a rush and I am paying the price for going to a surgeon who had next day availability in ATLANTA!!

I have a shifted sesamoid bone that is under the ball of my foot post-surgery, and it is causing discomfort when walking and swelling. I had also fallen down the stairs at some point after the initial surgery which increased the pain that I had in that foot. I had a follow up surgery scheduled for the beginning of May, with the initial surgeon, to remove the pins that were implanted as well as the sesamoid, but after my first visit in this office a CT scan was recommended since they X-Rays were not conclusive. My appointment was on April 24th. I scheduled the CT scan for the very next day and made another appointment to have it read in this office on May 1st. I went in for the disc to be reviewed, but after sitting in an exam room for about 30 minutes, they came back in to tell me that I could not be seen that day. They did not have Java on any of their computers and could not review the images but told me that my co pay would be refunded and someone would reach out once they had it downloaded. I never received a call. I had to reach out to them multiple times about the status of my images, and in the time in between, I cancelled my surgery due to time constraints and waiting for a response or appointment to review the images. I was finally given a time to come back in on May 14th and was told that they were able to download the program and open the files, but only after I called them. No one ever contacted me. Once I got there, I was asked for a co-pay even though the first one hadn't ever been refunded. Not a big deal. They just applied it to the new visit. I go back into the exam room and the nurse has me take off my shoe and sock. Normal procedure, except, they then put a scrub type sock on my foot and had me walk barefoot on my injured foot to another room to look at the images. My foot had a fracture that occurred after the first surgery, and it is assumed that it happened when I fell down the stairs. They knew in advance, since they looked at the images before I arrived, that my foot was fractured, and I had told them at the prior visit that it was painful to walk on that foot without a shoe on. Maybe not the best practice to have someone walking around on their injured foot. I am taken back to the exam room, and they go over a plan which includes letting it heal for 6 weeks with another follow-up before surgery can be considered. A magnetic box is also recommended to promote new bone growth and expedite the healing time. I am told that someone will call me with the information for that device, and I am also instructed to not take any oral pain relievers since they will further slow the healing process. No topical medications were named or prescribed, but I was told to use a topical if needed. Some felt inserts were given to me to put in my shoe to relieve some of the pressure on the ball of my foot, and that was the end of the visit. On the 21st, I still had not received a call about the bone growth device and called the office. The calls go directly to a call center instead of the office locations. After giving her all of my information she asks which pharmacy I use and advises that there are no medications on file for me. I explain that it isn't for medication, and she puts me on hold to contact the office directly. She comes back on the line and says that no one could speak to her, but she is sending them a message high priority, and someone will call me back. On the 24th, I still have not received a phone call. I call back in to the call center and am told that the message has been read, and what else would I like for her to do about it. All she can do is send another message, but their office closed early and there is no one there. I am out of patience at this point and her attitude was not helping matters, so my 6-week follow-up appointment was cancelled right then and there. The doctor was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable, but the office staff and call center are abhorrent at best. Patients do not really seem like a priority, and if you are told that "someone will call you" for any reason, prepare to be clinically ghosted.

The front desk staff was friendly as well and informed me of all my possible charges prior to me being seen. I appreciate this as it allows me to decide what I can afford. Although my issue was not resolved, the doctor used great care and methods to alleviate as much of the discomfort as possible. FYI, the GPS takes you to the wrong side of the highway. This business is in an old bank next to Wendy's.
