Dr. Ilahi There is a major disconnect with the reviews and what I experienced. I do NOT recommend this doctor to anyone, especially if your injury is work related. This group is fantastic. I first saw Dr. Omer Ilahi close to 20 years ago and he repaired my torn meniscus. I had terrific results. He is very kind and an excellent surgeon. I have driven to his Pearland office when I need to see him on days he is at that location. The staff is truly compassionate and always try to get me in asap. Receptionist, nurses and the dr. are all so wonderful. So grateful for them. I would not go anywhere else. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY SURGERY UNLESS YOU LIKE PAIN. This is my experience with Dr. Omer Ilahi, I went to Dr Ilahi with severe should pain from an injury. He performed an X-Ray and then sent me to get an MRI. It was determined that I had an almost complete rotator cuff tear and that my secondary bicep tendon was complexly severed. He suggested immediate surgery and I complied, knowing that time was of the essence with these types of injuries. I was concerned about the pain after the procedure, which was only supposed to take 1.5 hours and turned into 4.5 hours. He stated to me then "You will not be pain free". I should have caught this at the time and would regret it later. I had just recovered from two-foot surgeries several months before and my Podiatrist had promised me, that I would not be in pain during my recovery period as I had pins put into my foot from multiple breaks. She was incredible, but not Dr. Ilahi. When the procedure was completed, he went into the waiting room to speak to my wife while I was in recovery. He stated, "the procedure was a success", but there was more rotator cuff damage than the MRI showed. My wife is a Nurse Practitioner, she even took notes. This statement was deceptive and false as I found out later that night, after I fell at home and Dr. Ilahi called me on the after-hours line. That he was "NOT" able to reattach my torn ligament and bicep muscle. I would "ONLY" have 50% of the strength that I had before. I asked my wife did he inform you of this? She stated, no he told me everything was a success. This was deceptive and malicious; he should have told her, it was only a partial success, the truth. This Provider is not only deceptive, but extremely arrogant. He does not listen to the patient. The best was yet to come as Dr Ilahi prescribed me for pain Talwin and Toradol. I had not looked up Talwin, but later I was to find out that it's deadly and they stopped prescribing this in the 80's due to side effects. My pain was unbelievable, so I took the prescribed dosages of the medication. It only took away about 30% of the pain. On day two I started feel confused and shaking, sweating and then eventually hallucinating. It was truly a "week of hell". I called the Dr Ilahi's office and told them what was going on, they stated "well you will see him tomorrow, so continue the medication." When I went to the office 6 days after my surgery, I told the Dr. Ilahi what had happened with the medication, he did not seem the least bit concerned. On my foot surgery they had prescribed me 2 weeks' worth of Noro 10 and it did miracles with the pain. I asked Dr. Ilahi, why could he not prescribe me the same. He stated that he does not and will never prescribe that medication for pain. He did not care if I had pain. I understand about the abuse of medications, my son passed away last year from Fentanyl. He instead switched me to Tylenol 4, which make me throw up and nauseated all the time. I called his office and demanded to know why Dr. Ilahi did not care that I was in pain and could not take the Codeine. He still would not keep me pain free; this was the MOST PAINFUL recovery I have ever experienced in my lifespan. His nurse stated he does not and WILL NOT prescribe me any Norco 10 and that they would try some type of new medication to see if it would work. Well, that medication came in today, special "mail order". I took 2 tablets as described and was lightheaded for about 15 minutes and still in pain. Throbbing shoulder pain that NO ONE should have to endure. It's my since desire to let anyone know if you are considering Dr. Ilahi to consider, "is the pain, neglect and lies" worth it. In my opinion, this is patient neglect, abuse and malpractice. While Dr Ilahi get paid tens of thousands by my insurance company, I suffer in pain and agony. To keep your patients in pain, while you are too scared or uncaring to keep them "pain free" after a 4.5-hour surgery is outrageous.
