They sell well thought out items from local Melbourne designers, with just the right hint of local charm (trams, postcode designs, aussie animals). Of course, they have other Aussie souvenir items that are non-Hello Kitty. My personal favorite find were the hand-carved wooden spoons with kangaroo handles. Be sure to bring in the tourist pamphlet advertising the store for a 10% discount.
