Let me just say this: the service here is something special. We had a reservation, and the host--whose name I wish I remembered--went above and beyond to make sure we got the best table. Overlooking the lighthouse, at sunset. That moment alone made the meal unforgettable. And then the food landed. The lobster roll was everything I hoped for. But it was the seafood platter that really got me. The fish was perfectly done--crispy, golden batter with just the right heft. I always say, you can tell a good fish and chips from the first bite of the batter. This one passed with flying colours. But more than the food, this place teaches a masterclass in service. Peggy's Cove draws tourists from everywhere--different cultures, languages, expectations. I watched the staff handle it all with warmth and patience. Some customers barely spoke a word, but the team's kindness cut through it all. No tension, no stress--just people being good to other people. It reminded me: kindness is a universal language. Stick to that, and everything else falls into place. Thank you, Sou'Wester, for a meal that was not only delicious, but full of grace. You made our evening feel like something out of a storybook.

We came here as part of a tour to Peggy's Cove. It is right down by the lighthouse there, well close enough to see from the restaurant and chosen for its location but also they had some really good lobster. We were expecting a lobster roll, but they placed a full lobster down in front of each of the 40 people on the tour. Have you ever cracked open a lobster? This was my first so I think I did well on my virgin experience and stripped the meat from as many places as I could find. The served coleslaw with it and rolls and for desert warm gingerbread cake with ice cream. Nice tasting and a challenging lunch.

A wonderful restaurant with amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean. Great and warm friendly service with nice ambiance and good food. We were seated beside the window with a great view of the ocean. We had steamed lobsters, freshly picked from the lobster tank. Our server went the extra mile to show us different types and sizes of lobsters and helped us to select. The restaurant itself is quite spacious and has a quite large gift/souvenir shop attached. It is next to the big parking lot of Peggy's Cove, still it's hard to find a spot. The good thing is there are several reserved spots for the restaurant customers.

Go to this restaurant. This restaurant has great staff who are so friendly and helpful. The interior was super cute and pretty nice for a touristy restaurant. The food is good with a reasonable price for a restaurant next to a big tourist attraction. The gift shop was crowded but had some interesting things to buy. Even though I would recommend going to the other shops for they have things from local artists.

Located next to the lighthouse, this restaurant and gift shop can get quite busy on cruise ship days. They have restrooms and will stamp your passport for free (so don't forget them). They have a wide variety of gifts, handmade goods, and local foods to mark your trip to Peggy's Cove and the lighthouse.

Sister Sarah and I had lunch on Wednesday at the Sou'Wester Restaurant. We had a great view from our table. We both had Nova Scotia Fish & Chips (local haddock hand dipped in a light beer batter and fried golden brown served with fries and coleslaw) which was really good. I'm not a fan of coleslaw so gave mine to Sister Sarah. Falen was our server ... she was friendly and took good care of us.

We were in Peggy's Cove on a cruise ship excursion and our tour guide said the gingerbread from the Sou'Wester was not to be missed. We decided to get some for the bus ride back to the ship. It was really good - more similar to spice cake than traditional gingerbread in my opinion - and we got ours topped with lemon sauce. Overall it was really good, but the line to get it was really long - there were several tour buses there at the same time, so be prepared to wait.

Great location. Super great to warmup here when cold out. Lots of dine-in seating. Staff were super friendly and have high chairs and booster seats. Free bread to start helped keep the hunger away. Very tasty. Kids loved the grilled cheese. We all loved the nachos. Big prices of lobster init. Lobster cheese dip was also good. Chips are layered with a layer of salsa in-between. 9/10. Beer cheese soup had great flavor and croutons gave it a nice texture. Gingerbread cake was 10/10. Soo soft, fresh and not too "spicy" in the ginger sense. Overall a really great choice when visiting Peggy's Cove

This is the restaurant attached to the gift shop at Peggy's Cove. The prices do seem high, whether that's typical for the area, inflated since it's a tourist spot, or a combination of both I'm not sure, but just something to be aware of. We weren't super hungry so we just grabbed some seafood chowder to go. It was ready after a short wait. We took it outside and sat with our chowder on a chilly day overlooking the ocean, how wonderful is that? The chowder was really yummy. It had generous chunks of seafood, tender potatoes, and overall well seasoned and hearty. We both enjoyed it very much. If you're visiting Peggy's Cove and feel like a bite to eat, this spot is a good option to check out.

This is a must hit spot when you visit the iconic Peggy's Cove! Make time to eat here and explore the huge gift shop attached. We mostly stopped to eat because of the rain and the kids were starving but this turned out to be one of my highlights from the trip in terms of food! Plus our server was such a dear, lovely human being, even with the place packed she was still thoughtful, calm, and on it with taking our orders and bringing food out as soon as it was ready. The complimentary bread with lobster butter is one of the big reasons you gotta stop here. The bread was so fresh and fluffy; paired with say what!? Lobster Butter!! I would have ordered it if it wasn't complimentary but I love that it came with the meal even more! We also got the Special: Keith's beer and cheddar soup. Absolutely amazing flavor and consistency. It was so so good. And the Lobster nachos were well and uniquely layered, with giant pieces of lobster throughout. I would highly recommend this dish as well. Okay everything we tried was phenomenal but you can't skip the dessert! The homemade gingerbread with ice cream! Was incredible! Moist, Flavourful, Fluffy! Not too sweet, and not too spiced. Eat eat eat, I want to eat it all again!

We ordered the lobster roll, the chowder, salmon cakes, and the mussels. The Mussels were good, fresh, the lobster roll tasted fresh, but what really surprised me was the salmon cakes. Normally I'm not a fan of fish cakes as to be it's too soft, and lacks flavor except for the fishiness, however these salmon cakes were soft in the delicate way but the salmon were in large enough chunks that the flakes gave it some structure, but paired with the dill sauce they were outstanding!

I've only actually been once, but it was enough to make me swoon. I mean...I've been following them on social media for ages and have drooled over their photos, but now that I've been inside, yep, it's love. I love that just about everything in the shop is made in Canada, and there is so much love for local Nova Scotian artists too! I could have bought a car full of goodies - Rifle Paper Co journals? Adorable prints? Jewellery dishes shaped like woodland animals? And then the jewellery itself that is just so gorgeous, it's hard not to want a little bit of everything. The store is packed full of goodies in every space available, but it doesn't feel cramped or crowded. The set up is perfect for browsing in a crowd (even though I was there in the off-season). I can't say enough about this charming shop! I can't wait to go back.

Just. YES. After a…read moreday of shopping the south shore, inundated by stereotypical 'maritime' crap that I just can't get down with, I almost let out an audible cry of happiness when I walked into this brand new addition to the Lunenburg scene. The modern, open and bright space really let the products on the shelves shine rather than forcing customers into an awkward stumble through overpacked aisles of random nick-knacks. Within seconds of seeing all the inspiring and adorable prints, handmade pillows and stuffed toys, quirky greeting cards and stationery, and tons more, I knew I was in trouble. Much like a similar store in Halifax (Love, Me Boutique), I just wanted it all. And that's okay...because every purchase helps support a legitimate local artist or crafter which makes me feel MUCH better about gift-giving than just picking up your average mass-produced 'Authentic Nova Scotian' anything. Besides, there were so many great products available for less than $20 which makes it easy to do some damage without having to hate yourself for it later. I will absolutely be back. Hopefully soon and often.
