Decided to add an update for new services I've had over the last 8 months. Spa Serenity is now my go-to for haircuts; they're a an expected price for a more upscale place and I've only been disappointed once -it was a little hurried because I think I was her last client on a Saturday. Otherwise, it's a great place for your routine haircuts. I usually do my own Brazilian waxes but I decided to save myself the inconvenience and have one of the lovely ladies make it quick. Yes, it's pricey but considering the time and pain it takes me for these I'd say it's worth it for how long the results last. Painful? Oh yes, but maybe 20 minutes tops. Usually people are nervous or embarrassed to get into the awkward positions a Brazilian requires but the conversation was calming and fun so the whole thing went smoothly. I booked my next one 7 weeks out and will probably make it a routine too. read more

We had made a group appointment. 4 days before the appointment one person tested positive for COVID and others were exposed. When we notified them we could no longer make our appointment because of this, we were told we could avoid the cancellation fee by still keeping and attending the appointments. We chose to cancel but I am disappointed that this place disregarded the health and safety of their employees and guests by giving us the option to keep the appointment. We figured businesses would take the bare minimum precautions so the fact you can attend COVID positive/potentially positive even after making them aware does not make me want to give this place another try. read more

Usually don't give one stars but I had a horrible experience here and I feel like I should share it. Went here for my moms birthday with a few others and they all had great experiences. I was taken back by an employee whom I will not name. But it started off fine and relaxing until I got the chemical peel put on and I could feel it go on my eye. I finally said something and asked if I could flush it out because it was burning really bad and they gave me a q-tip... they went on with the facial and it was still burning and watering. Like I don't know why they didn't care, it's a chemical peel! After the facial I said something again and they said "I'll give you 2 more q-tips and I'll meet you outside the door when you're done". my eye was red for the rest of the day but is fine now but I was super concerned with the lack of care I was given especially when it was supposed to be a relaxing setting which is wasn't at all read more

Wanted to get massages with a friend to celebrate my birthday, and this was a reasonably priced, and highly rated spa halfway between us. She got the hot stone massage and I got the therapeutic massage. The atmosphere there was just beautiful and so inviting. I never wanted to leave. I had Renee and she was just amazing! Asking if pressure was okay a couple of times because i hadn't had a massage in years. Asked if there were spots I wanted to focus on, and really worked magic! My husband and i came to Spa Serenity as a late anniversary gift to each other. This was my husbands first time getting a massage and my first time it this spa. He had the Hot Stone Massage and I had the Hot Buttered Stone Massage, which I enjoyed immensely! The massage it's self was amazing. I gave minimal direction and the masseuse did the rest. I was seeking relaxation and that's exactly what I got. My husband was a little nervous at first but his masseuse was reassuring and friendly. He must have been comfortable, he eventually fell asleep lol Overall the experience, service, ambiance and price were well worth it. While vacationing in the Dells, I wanted to treat myself to a massage but didn't want to spend the pricey fees charged at some of the higher end spas. I opted for Spa Serenity. Contrary to another reviewer, I also had Beth and feel she did a WONDERFUL job! Being a massage therapist myself, I appreciate a firmer touch and find it more beneficial. Beth made me aware up front that she does have a firmer touch and I let her know I appreciate that but may not be able to handle it on my legs. I said I would let her know once she got there however she started with a lighter pressure on my legs and asked how it felt and it was perfect. If you prefer a "fluff n' buff" massage as we call them in Michigan, I would be confident that Beth could do that if asked however, you're really missing out on the therapeutic benefits of a firmer touch! I am giving 4 stars because there were some construction/repairs being done during my massage. I feel those types if things should be done after hours however, I don't know what the repairs were for and it's possible it could have been an issue that couldn't wait. I would imagine most buildings in Baraboo are older so possibly a leak?? Who knows? Without those, I would have given 5 stars easily! read more

My friend and I wanted to treat ourselves to a girls day out by doing a one hour couple massage and we both ordered extra service for calves. The staff seemed bored during the prep and being the last session on a Saturday they seemed rushed. Right after we left we both realized we didnt get the extra service. We called the spa right away, explaining we had paid for the service but didnt receive it. We asked for a credit for future service and were told we needed to call back on Monday and talk with the manager. I called and left 2 follow up messages on Monday and we never received a return call. Sure wish we wouldn't have tipped well. We wont be back. Poor customer service. read more

I went as an escape on NYE, while the family went skiing I enjoyed my afternoon at the spa! It started with a manicure with Katie, which turned out great!! Beautiful room and relaxing. Next up was a hot stone massage with Renee which was amazing, I highly recommend the hot stones especially during this bitter cold winter!!! Overall loved the atmosphere and staff!! read more

I'm giving it two stars in fairness to the staff ( most of whom were pleasant and friendly) and the ambiance which was quite nice for the price. I get massages regularly back at home and was really looking forward to getting one during my vacation in the Dells. We were seated in a waiting room when the masseuse Beth came in. She gave me and my friend a form to fill out. About a minute later she came back in and asked for the form. I told her I hadn't finished it yet and had barely filled in my information. She said that that was fine and took the form (isn't there a place to list health issues and sign a waiver of some type?) Apparently that didn't matter. I asked her if I could use the restroom and she told me she'd prefer to get started and go over the things she needed to and THEN she would show me to the restroom. Ummmm. Okay. I guess I can uncomfortably hold it until you're ready. She went over what she wanted to and then i asked (again) if she could show me to the restroom. Finally I was able to relieve myself. I stepped into the waiting room to speak to my companion and Beth quite rudely told me that she was pressed for time. I almost cancelled my massage right then and there but I came with a group and would have been waiting for several hours anyway so I proceeded against my better judgement. Once the massage starter it didn't get any better. The pressure was way too much to the point where I had to stop her twice to tell her that she was hurting me. One time, I might give you a pass. But twice????? Once the ordeal ended, not only was I not relaxed but my lower right side was sore. I spent the rest of my night trying to stretch out whatever it was she injured. My friends all had great experiences which is the only reason I'm giving any stars. Go if you must but avoid Beth at all costs!!! read more

I've always loved coming here for a massage when I'm on vacation and over the last 10 years have never been disappointed!

Cute and cozy place. I especially liked the faux fireplace in the relaxation/ waiting room. Hubby and I had massages and I was kind of disappointed. The massage room itself was nice and comfy as were the tables for the massage. I didn't feel like my therapist read my body language very well and went too far with the pressure. I didn't want to disturb my husband so it would have been difficult to let her know other than squirming away from her. My husband was disappointed as well. It's a really cute place and maybe it would be different if we had other therapists. read more

My wife and I thought the ambiance was nice and relaxing. We stopped in for pedicures and I thought mine to be very relaxing and the only thing I would've added was a polish on my toe nails after the job was done. My wife enjoyed hers too but her heals are still very crusty and needed to be worked on more and probably with a bigger file. read more

They did a nice job with renovation..... That's about all the positive I can say. So I had the $ 50 pedicure, sorry but not my best. I had one once here in the old building and found the couch to sit on while getting the pedicure most uncomfortable. I thought that would have changed with the update, but no, just as uncomfotable then for 30 minutes of the pedicure someone was doing something with cellophane? Wrapping something? Kid playing with the suckers in the bowl in the waiting room? Not sure but SO annoying and when I mentioned it to the quiet one doing my pedicure, she just said " oh, I hadn't noticed" and kept working! the 2 people in front doing the wrapping spoke loud most of the time, Not spa voices! Massage was great but had the misfortune of being scheduled with someone who did not seem to know how to do a manicure and pedicure. She did not talk more than 5 words during both a manicure and pedicure - worst manicure and pedicure ever.
