My husband and I came in for a deep tissue couple's massage while we were staying in town for a few days and we couldn't be happier. Felice and Maryvill did such amazing jobs. We came in there sore and tight and left much looser and in less pain. We were so impressed with how they were both able to pinpoint all of our painful trouble spots without having to tell them. And unlike other people I have gotten massages from, when Felice asked me how the pressure was and I asked for more, she gave me more. Usually I get weak, ineffective massages that don't help me at all. This was such a welcome surprise. Felice also spent more time on my neck and shoulders because I told her that's where most of my pain was beforehand. I really appreciated that. My husband said that Maryvill seemed to find every spot on his body that was sore and made the pain go away. I felt a little sore afterwards, but it was a good kind of sore. I haven't felt this loose in a long time. The massages definitely weren't inexpensive, but they were well worth it. I'm from Chicago and go to a true higher end salon and this was not it. I had to go back to the hotel do my hair. I was not happy. I kept telling the stylist what to do and just gave up because she had my friends hair to do (who also needed to redo her hair). $50 for a blow dry and flat iron. No updo. For both my friend and I. This is a mixed review. We hired Spa Verde for my wedding hair and make up, culminating in 11 women in total. The actual location is very nice but smaller than expected. The owner (Kathleen) reported that it was small on the phone but stated that they wouldn't have difficulty hosting our wedding party day of. After visiting for my trial run, I realized that the wedding party would have to have their services done in shifts and it really wasn't feasible to have it at the spa (which was honestly frustrating). We decided to change our location to the venue, which ended up being more ideal in the long run. Planning and response time throughout the process was less than ideal and I at times felt like I was trying to chase down the owner to receive answers. That being said, I was more than pleased with day of services. Both of the makeup artists were from Spa Verde and were so positive, fun, and excited to share in the day! Both of the hair stylists were contracted in (former employees at Spa Verde) and we loved their styles, efficiency, and speed! All in all, if you have a small wedding party (like 2-4 people), Spa Verde would be a good choice, otherwise if you decide to go with this salon, I suggest having the services done off site. read more

A few girlfriends and I planned a special getaway for the weekend, which included services from Spa Verde. The 3 stars is for the massages themselves. We had a really hard time with reaching anyone, given it was off season, but they were open. It was so challenging, we called 3x to confirm due to the lack of response from spa verde. Once there, everyone was very nice and pleasant. My massage with Ava, was lovely. She went to town, really worked me out. Another gf received a facial, from Kathleen, sadly it was lackluster. Extractions with no steam; yikes. No massage of the hands and feet, just an application of "lotion" as she called it. The worst was she stepped out for about 10 minutes, for what seemed to be, answering phone calls. Having been an Esthetician myself for 15yrs, this is a big no-no. My friend did say her neck and shoulder massage was nice, though. Lastly, the other girls had an ok massage. One of their therapists seemed to be sick, as she continuously broke contact to blow her nose and get a drink of water. Yikes...maybe stay home and call on another therapist? All and all, it was ok. They're disorganized and give an alright massage. The options in this area are pretty slim, so they may be your best bet. Just go to Ava, you'll be alright with her. read more

This was my first massage, but after a very stressful past months i decided to splurge while on vacation. At the time they had a christmas deal that included the aromatherapy with my deep tissue massage. It was a little odd at first but I'd chaulk this up to it being my first. But this was by far one of the most relaxing experinces of my life, the bed was so warm you just melted away in it with soothing lavender steam in the air. The blankets were nice and kept you tucked in. I honestly would of fell asleep if i wasn't so ticklish, it was a great hour though and i left feeling the most relaxed I've probably ever felt. read more

We had a very unfortunate experience. My mother took the time to book in person as this is one of the only places in Door County that can do side by side pedicures. She then called to confirm. When we showed up there was only one person on staff and they could only do one pedicure and one manicure. In 2014 I got a perm at a place I had never gone before and my hair got fried. I left that salon panicking because I now had split ends and a frizzy, knotted mess which was very foreign to me. I had never, ever had a problem with perms so I had no idea what to do. I tried as many at home treatments as possible until my cosmetologist cousin said I would probably need to get few professional treatments done in order to restore my hair. I had been to Spa Verde several times to get my hair colored, so I figured I'd see if they had a treatment that could help my mess. Best decision I have ever made. Ellen worked WONDERS with the disaster I had gotten myself into. She did a scalp treatment as well as a deep conditioning treatment to get my hair back to where it should be. Only three appointments later, my hair was healthy, happy, and unfried! I was able to get my hair permed (I went to someone who knew what they were doing this time) and I still go to Ellen every 2 months or so to get another treatment and keep my hair healthy. One of my favorite ways to treat myself when I go on vacation (or at home) is to get a facial. We found this spa near where we were staying and scheduled an appointment. I was scheduled for a 60 minute facial with Kathleen at 2:15. I arrived about 15 minutes early and was put in my room about 5 minutes before my facial was scheduled. I then waited another 15 minutes for Kathleen to join me and for the facial to begin. When she joins me she asks minimal questions about my skin and then gets to work. The beginning was a basic facial, cleanser and exfoliation, then the trouble begins. She immediately begins going for extractions, WITHOUT steaming my face!! These were some of the most painful extractions I have ever had. She dug unnecessarily deep into my skin to the point where I was tearing up. This took up the majority of my 60 minute facial, where she then put a clarifying mask on and applied toner and moisturizer. Though the extractions were the worst the website does say that all custom facials come with a steam and two masks which I did not receive. Though I don't think my skin could have handled another mask after Kathleen had her way with it, it shouldn't be advertised as such on their website. All of this being said, the atmosphere was very nice and relaxing and Kathleen was a very pleasant woman to talk to, this being the reason for 2 stars instead of one. read more

Massages by Cheryl and Becky were wonderful. The only problem we had was with a henna my daughter had applied there. The woman admitted she didn't have much experience at it. She did a terrible job. My daughter was really embarrassed and had to live with it for two weeks! They had indicated earlier the the cost for the henna would be $25 perhaps a little more, yet they had no trouble charging us $50! Beware of the henna but massages are marvelous. read more

I scheduled myself for a pedicure because we'd be in town for a few days. I was called the same day asking to move my time around to earlier so they could fit in more appointments. Luckily I could. When I got there it seemed packed. Small waiting room. My sister had bought me a gift certificate for my pedicure and called it in. When I went to check out they had "lost" it and I had to pay. All the ladies seemed very disorganized and some even a little short with me even though I didn't do anything. My nail tech was also frazzled and I could have gotten a better pedicure for a much better price at home, probably would not recommend to others. read more

Went in for a facial. I had an appt with Kathleen. I waited 30 minutes . Lots of confusion on who was getting a massage, and who was giving it as I sat there. Never offered water while I waited. I finally go to the room for the facial. Kathleen is cordial but seemed a bit frazzled. She did not use steam to open my pores, which was mentioned as part of the facial on the website. She used a scrub on my face, then proceeded to use a tool and press down to clean my pores. It hurt like hell, but I went along with it. She never did ask if it was too hard . She did not explain each step, but having prior facials I could figure it out. She talked during most of the facial, so I didn't feel very relaxed. She rubbed lotion on my feet, but there was no massage, nor on my hands, again that's what the website said would happen. The site said it was the best choice for a facial/ massage. I got a partial facial and no massage for $75. This spa has potential, with more organization and people who aren't in a hurry to go onto the next guest. read more

I had an appointment for a mani-pedi which I booked on-line the day before. I knew it was an all natural organic place which is one of the reasons I chose it. I drove a half hour to get there only to be told they could not do a pedicure since they did not have chemicals to remove my current polish. First when I arrived Kathleen greeted me but did not tell me that we would be starting 15 minutes late. I was scheduled at the same time as my husband and I would have appreciated knowing that ahead of time.I have had numerous facials and massages over the years. I know to communicate clearly and throughly about sensitivities, allergies and medical conditions. I did that with Kathleen for a 60 minute facial. Kathleen was very thorough and competent, seemed to listen well. She decided to give me a vitamin C mask toward the end of the treatment. Did not explain what it was and if there might be side effects. We left and went to dinner. I immediately went to the restroom and wet my face with cold water. My face was bright red and inflamed and I could not stop perspiring. I mean I would dry my face and it was instantly soaked. I drank about 8 glasses of water at dinner to the point the waitress began to wonder what was up. We went on a trolley tour that night and I was miserable until about 8:00 p.m. The massage was at 4:00 p.m. I emailed Kathleen about getting a massage as my husband raved about his practitioner. She scheduled the appointment and said, " I was going to try and call you today to see how your skin is doing. I am hoping the vitamin C masque wasn't too strong for you. If it was I would be happy to give you some calming masque to apply." Wow! Why didn't she tell me that the day before? If she sensed it might be don't you think that would have been helpful information to have? I went to the massage and Kathleen was at the front desk. I was SHOCKED when she did not ask how I was. Not a word. Every practitioner I have always asks me how it was the previous time. When I emailed her about her lack of inquiry she was defensive as I expect she will be when she reads this.
