Our family did a day trip to the sand dunes from our campsite at Lathrop, and we were looking for…read moresand boards to rent on the way. Spindrift is a cute, colorful shop right on the main street through Blanca. We ordered them online a few days before, but there were plenty of boards when we arrived. The large group in front of us seemed to be walk ins and received boards with no issue. Amy greeted us and got us set up with our boards and sled. We had three different style of boards for different riding experiences. She gave us all fun "jobs" on the dunes and thorough instructions. We all agreed the world needs more Amys. She is really pleasant, welcoming, and a wonderful individual. The dunes are another 30 minute drive from Blanca, but well worth it to get the quality and variety of boards and sled versus what you can get at the store right by the Dunes. The prices were half of that store and the boards are superior in every way. Useful tip Amy gave us - wear socks with your sandals or crocs. That sand temperature in the summer is no joke and can burn your feet fast. Just rock the socks! I highly recommend Spindrift to anyone looking to do sand boarding or sledding!

What an amazing experience did we have visiting this awesome place…read more My friend is visiting for a few days and we decided to go to the Grand Sand Dunes to explore, and while we were at it we decided to experience sand surfing. To sand surf you require special equipment so we stopped here to get what we needed. Little did we know, we got way more than just the equipment. The beautiful being that greeted us (the owner herself!)at the store was so warm and inviting. She gave us pointers on how to sand surf, she explained the whole process of how to properly use the board, the waxing method, lots of kisses from Bella (the cute doggy that was with her), and just an amazing vibe. The value of the gear rental is very affordable, but the value of the whole experience has no price. Thank you so much for your awesome, we had a fantastic day thanks to your expertise and wonderful vibration!

What a great store. What a great owner…read more What great staff. A group of us were camping in Colorado, and to my relief and delight, Fox Creek Co. was a mere 2 miles from our camps. Food. Gear. Snacks. Fishing licenses. Cool swag. What's not to love? We mainly needed ice. Like every day. Driving 45 minutes to Alamosa was NOT going to happen, PLUS we were really liking the Fox Creek Store. A few stand outs (for me) were the Fiah Stickers. Minnesota girl here so am always delighted to see a cool fish. ;) ICE. Sodas. Camping and fishing supplies. Facial tissues (for the New Area Allergies.) Grab an Amish Pie (or two. or 3. Can't remember if I ate 4 or 6?) A light and absolutely delicious pastry filled with fruit. I had Strawberry - rhubarb. I also had to get a big homemade apple cinnamon tear away bread. Yes... it had a nice drizzle of frosting. It was a great addition to breakfast and made a great snack. I think what really stood out for me though was The People. Steven, the owner, was often on-site and insisted on carrying the ice to the car. Nice guy. I mean, REALLY NICE GUY. And his family work the cash register and counter. I could go on and on about things I loved about the store but the bottom line is simple: nice people. Convenient. FAIR competition pricing. Thoughtful inventory. Propane. A dump station. And licenses. I will actually miss theu daily trip to Fox Creek now that I'm back in Arizona. Oh!!! You not only will be supporting a local small business, but local, independent artisans. One guy makes the flies. A woman makes beautiful jewelry. If you wander around, you'll see handmade boot cleaners, quality knives, and so much more. Not just 5 stars. 5 shooting stars for welcoming visitors, while providing friendly, topnotch customer service.

Fox Creek Store - Nice one, eh? My dad was a fisherman. How I wish I could send him a few. These touched my heart a little.

Fox Creek Store - Basic tackle and fishing gear. Forgot or break something? Well... maybe you can get back to fishing after stopping in here.
