I started taking Spanish classes here. It is great because the class size is super small, so the instructor works at a pace that is best for the class. Unfortunately, I had to stop going because the scheduled time just wasn't working for me since I work long hours in Santa Fe. My wife and I drove from Phoenix for this weekend immersion course, and It was well worth it. This is a great course. I took the 'beginner' as I had a few years of HS Spanish long ago. My wife took the 'intermediate' course because although she had her masters in Spanish it had been many years since she spoke the language. In brief, the professors did a terrific job with materials and lessons. Each of the three teachers switched through the two groups for different lessons, which gave us a nice perspective of styles, accents and vocabulary/ grammar. The professors were very knowledgeable and fun. The lessons were well organized and suited to our levels. I give Spanish ABQ two thumbs way up! I took 24 hours of private Spanish lessons there over two weeks and can honestly say that I learned and "tightened up" an awful lot of Spanish. I was blessed to have two incredible professors in Guadalupe and Paola. They were extremely vested in my success to learn and were quite obviously well prepared for every session I had with them. They were more patient with me than I was and made the sessions jam-packet and yet peaceful too! I hope to be back to study there again someday. Albuquergue is a great city too and has a lot of things to do there and in the surrounding areas. We hiked a lot, visited some great museums (check out the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center-fantastic) and took in nearby Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Bandolier National Park, Tent Rocks National Park and others. read more

I wanted to take a few private classes to brush up my Spanish before heading to Mexico so I called SpanishABQ. Margarita was very accommodating and we set them up. I was very pleased with the comfortable relaxed atmosphere and the variety of activities. I have been taking classes at SpanishABQ for almost a year now. I had knowledge of basic words, so I started on the very first SpanishABQ course - The First Eight Weeks. The class sizes are very small unlike what you would find in a college setting. Currently, including myself, there are only 4 students in my class. This makes it very fun and relaxing to learn Spanish together. Margarita is a great teacher who incorporates many different activities into each class. I am enrolled in Spanish 2 by Spanish ABQ. I admit it I am having difficulty but not because of the instruction. I know a little French so it creeps in now an then. As in French verb conjucation is a sticiking point so it's more study and repetition. The instructor we have is good, listens well and puts up with our broken spanish pronounciations.
