Food area . I often go there to shop for food, walk around and come out with very little. I just don't find it as good as the hype that surrounds it. To be fair my advice on shopping is know where you want to shop for certain items and shop around. The labels on food is very confusing, I spend ages working it out. Very often the big font price is the per Kilo and the price of the item is alot smaller. and higher in price. Be careful that joint of meat that looks like £8 isnt £16 plus when at the till. My biggest gripe with this Store and I have to check if it happens at others is: As soon as you enter the door your mobile internet stops, Thats annoying. You can't use the Tesco mobile app you bought from them. To use Yelp Checkin I had to sit in the cafe and put my mobile on the window pane to connect to Internet, took it off and it went again. The facilities inside the store are good, and it even features a Pharmacy, Cafe as well as products or concessions from multiple brands including Accessorize, Decathlon, Timpson, Greggs and even a Post Office! The selection in terms of groceries was also pretty good, I did find the store a little hard to follow, struggling to find certain products at first. They seemed to stock most of the items you'd expect to find in an ASDA, I still prefer the product ranges available at Tesco and Sainsbury's, who I feel have a better selection of brands, but this store was pretty good for an ASDA. There is a large car park, however, do be careful if approaching as a pedestrian, one of the main crossings is on a sharp corner, which is poorly lit, meaning it is difficult to see if any cars are coming, as it is a blind spot, this would be dangerous in the middle of the day, which almost caused me to get run over, let alone in the dark nights - with winter coming, they need to sort it out as it's a safety hazard. 4*

I find the goods are a little on the pricey-side compared to what you would pay in neighbouring town's stores such as Tesco and Asda. Staff aren't too bad, there is one member of staff though who spends more time talking and holding up queues rather than getting people through the check-outs quickly. I would avoid shopping here in the hours 8am-9am and 3pm-4pm as the kids from the school opposite descend on the store and staff don't seem to do anything to keep them from behaving.

Being a Simply Food store, it is much smaller than your typical Marks and Spencer department store and is the only branch remaining in Wigan now, following the closure of their town centre branch. Considering this is a small store, they did have a relatively good amount of stock, including fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy and meals, I did find the Frozen section to be rather poor, which wasn't down to the supply issues which is currently causing havoc on the UK supply chain, but simply down to having very little freezer space, which mainly consisted of desserts. The staff around the store were helpful, the lady that helped me was very apologetic when she couldn't find what I was looking for, but still tried her best to try and help me find the mini chicken kievs (Be sure to try them by the way, they're gluten-free and one of my favourite Marks and Spencer products!) Being a retail park location, there is parking directly outside. 4*
