One section has the grab-and-go goods like sandwiches, beer, water, as well as the prepared foods counter. The other side is more groceries (meat, eggs, ice cream, etc). It's a little inconvenient as you have to line up, pay, walk to the other side, line up and pay again. But I can see given the location why theft is an issue.

With a great selection of quality goods. Including a great wine and beer selection. We were staying in a hotel around the corner but had a small kitchen so made use of the place for snacks, drinks and breakfast. They have a pretty good variety of sauces & condiments & everything shelf-stable (including many different flavours of Sriracha). Prices seem reasonable. Service is helpful. I highly recommend Lili Markt if you're looking for Asian groceries in Vienna.

There is fresh produce available, but with the market just across the street I dont see the necessity unless the market happened to be closed. Lots of interesting delicious meats, drool worthy freshly baked breads and the chocolates- oh the chocolates! Hugely convenient, I'm a fan!

He offered more bread if I wanted it. The locals sitting next to me all told me that I made the right decision to come. The decor inside looks pretty old-world, with a variety of meats and cheese hanging in this super tiny place. Yes, I will be back if I get to visit Vienna again.

In general German owned grocery store Hofer has it strong and weak sides…read more The prices are v-e-r-y good fx. for getting essentials like eggs which are definately cheaper than at Interspar. Another item I got there and am probably the most happy with is my Austrian Sim card and phone number. The pre paid cards they offer from HOT come at a good price and credit balance can be purchased both online and via Internet banking. Usually the staff is helpful and super quick as well. Hofer's Achilles heel is the variety of groceries which could be better especially at this particular one which is quite small and I couldn't find basic stuff like strawberries and bananas. Some items were only available in large packages so a stopover at another store to find some leftover things from the shopping list was a must in my case. Another thing is that you can only get a trolley for a 1 Euro coin deposit which personally I'd rather skip but ofcourse it depends on who you ask.
