Frucht Topfen Torte--my favorite! Fruit cake with soft layers and a white chocolate flower 3. Punsch-krapferl--a pink pretty cake to look at, like a little girl's princess cake. It was too sweet for my taste. Service was wonderful. The bakery/cafe is clean and well-lit, and I enjoyed people-watching and spending a relaxing breakfast here.

We ordered the afternoon tea set, a classic I've had many times here. But when it arrived, the quality was frankly shocking. Not only was there visible dirt hanging off the bottom of the tray, but the food itself was of unacceptable quality. The sandwiches were completely dried out - I don't mean toasted, I mean visibly desiccated and wilted. The salmon had clearly oxidized edges that had already turned hard, an obvious sign that it had been sitting around in the open for hours. The roast beef sandwich was soggy and thoroughly soaked through. The tuna had begun to bulge and run out. The petit-four cakes were even worse. Not only were several of them also visibly dried out and tasted like it, too, but one of the cakes was missing half of it, looking like someone had taken a bite out of it. The Punschkrapfen was almost inedible, a congealed filling and top that had already started to crystallize, so it could barely be cracked or cut. Another sign of something that has been sitting in the open for hours. The tea did not appear to be freshly brewed, either. Usually we would get a tea pot with leaves inside, to steep directly at the table (a given in good tea houses, really). This time, however, we got a pot with ready-made tea and no leaves that tasted stale and flat. This would have been complaint-worthy and completely unacceptable for any average to low-end restaurant. For a price of just over €50 for two, it is quite frankly an insult. The only reason I didn't raise a ruckus right then and there was the fact that I was having a business meeting and a train shortly after. Haas&Haas used to be something, but this most recent experience was shocking to say the least. Be warned - this may not be the tea house you remember.

My favorite was the apricot jam spread on anything, but truly all the ingredients were spectacular and prepared with great care. The boyfriend kept raving about the pastrami for hours after our meal. And it was incredible. I've never tasted anything quite like it in a really good way. The meat was nicely spiced and had a very smoky taste. The women who worked there were very enthusiastic and friendly and made me feel welcome. You can watch the doot traffic while sitting at the window, and the melange and pastries are like like 2 Euros cheaper here than the places I am used to. It is a great place to rest your feet.
