Well, that's SO Twentieth Century. Deery Hill is Amy Chau and her husband Eric. They were on-site at a wedding in Carlsbad and created hand-painted digital illustrations on an iPad for the wedding guests. Here's how it worked - Eric took a photo of an individual or couple and sent it to Amy's iPad where she created stylized 5"x7" images. Then Eric printed and packaged the drawings with a cardboard backing and a protective cellophane bag. After we posed for Eric's photo, I walked over to their station and saw dozens of packaged portraits waiting for their owners to claim them. In a while, ours was ready to go! I chose a small sushi plate ($38) and ended up spending 3 hours choosing the colors, chatting and painting. The employees mostly leave you be (which I appreciate) and are super knowledgeable about the process if you have any questions. After you're done, drop off the item with the employee to fire up your items and you should get a call around 3-5 days later. That rubbed me the wrong way! I also noticed the staff had their friends there too and it was a distraction instead of staff being attentive to customers especially new ones. And fixed all the worn spots. She is an amazing decorative painter and while she was there doing the den faux painting , I had her refinish my cabinets. The decorative painting of the cabinets was amazing refinishing I had her change the Fireplace finishes to match the cabinets so all the rooms matched. Her pricing is fair, her sample boards are amazing and exactly like the finished product, and the top coating that she puts over all of the painting has protected my exterior of each area especially the cabinetry Next Virginia is going to do my Exterior Front door. She is now doing some interior repair from our dog gates at the kitchen entrance, and while she is there we are adding some additional lighter colors to the existing faux. I even said, "This doesn't look big enough," but he assured me it was the correct one. I took it home and unfortunately it wasn't the right size, so I had to run back to the store. The woman who greeted me the first time was incredibly kind and helpful -- she had even helped me load bags of soil into my car earlier. She handled the return for me with no problem at all. Then I went back upstairs where the actual plumbing specialist helped me pick out the correct part. The customer service here is excellent. It's so close to my house that I prefer going there instead of a big store like Home Depot. I may pay a little more sometimes, but the convenience, helpful staff, and friendly service make it worth it. Usually, they're right and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this store for both customer service and convenience.
