I have had great car washes from this spot before, but this time two of the brush mechanisms were not working and my car did not get clean. Initially from the outside it looks inviting. The customer service was welcoming and prompt. Father and son training session going on while entering, that's fine by me. He was working hard. The car wash itself, for a $24 wash was pretty basic in my eyes. Nothing spectacular. One thing that did catch me by surprise was the two men who came out as dryers to wipe the car up at the end. No free vacuums, which sucked. For $24 you would think it would be complementary like most car washes. Nope, you still need to bring some coins. This was a major con for me.. please add free vacuums guys! read more

So, I was passing through Scarborough and realized just how dirty my car was due to the salt and dirt. Being cold out, I hesitate because I don't need everything to freeze. Also, I am not big on the so called, automated machines, because they tend to leave more streaks and for the price, not worth it. But I wanted the dryer to remove as much water as possible. I approached Sparkle, after seeing it at the light and made my way into the wash. It was a bit pricey, considering I am not expecting a great wash from past experiences elsewhere. I went for The Works to get the undercarriage and the tri color foam. It looks good. ha ha So the young men working the front end were very polite and attentive to prepping my car before going into the wash. The experience was actually quite fast, but I felt that my car was being washed by the machine and not just a brush off. The turbo air dry followed by a towel dry from a staff person was a nice added bonus. So again..not really expecting a lot from the wash, but when I went to Walmart to pick up some items, I was really impressed with how my car looked as I approached it. I mean, it is not the same as a hand wash, but in the winter...it did a really good job. Today is three days after the fact and the wash is still holding on. So, it just might be worth the drive to get my car cleaned during the winter because I have not experienced such a cleaning in Portland. read more

Donnie was so amazing! I dropped off my car to have the interior cleaned, there was evidence of rodents and he went above and beyond to change the cabin filter where he discovered they had destroyed and totally transformed the car. He even went to the store and bought a new filter to replace the dirty one. Highly recommend these services, the attention to detail was so refreshing!! read more

I am a monthly unlimited member and have been for years. I go several times a week with having 3 vehicles. The staff is friendly & does a great job. Donnie in detailing is the best! He can make anything look brand new again. I love that they hand dry your car after each wash. read more

3.5 stars. Kind of average. Super convenient being right on route 1. However, my wheels still had quite a bit of dirt/brake dust on them and they weren't that dirty to begin with. I would have thought they would use a tire brush to loosen up the dirt prior to going through. Also, I had a lot of spotting and streaking afterwards and there were places (like the top of my rear bumper) that didn't get clean. Most likely I'll end up going there in a pinch. But I will be on the hunt for a better wash. read more

Buyer beware.....or your car will be damaged too. Do not use the Sparkle Clean Carwash in Scarborough. I took my new Porsche Panamera GTS ( my baby) through this car wash and they insured me that it would fit and be fine. I take care of this car better than anything. I've only owned it for a few months at this point and it was practically new. When taking it through it hit something inside their car wash. ( I have a dash cam video of it happening) My car's tires are low profile and when I came out of the car wash there was big gouges in my rims on the driver side. The owner stated that could never happen. He then proceeded to take me in and show me his car wash. We then discovered there was a bolt sticking out of his rails that should not have been there ( I have pictures ). It also looks like other vehicles have had the same issue in that spot. He openly admitted that he could see how that could cause damage. I also discovered that he uses 2x4 wood as a rail system. That upset me to know that thousands of customers cars are rubbing their tires and rims against splintered 2x4 wood. This guy refused to do anything until I showed him pictures and told him I was going to seek legal action. Now he is trying to have my rims filled and painted ( a very cheap service only a few hundred dollars versus replacing them like he should. These two rims will cost me $4600 to replace at the dealership. It doesn't settle very well with me to have a scratch filled repaired rim on a very expensive car. If I were to buy a vehicle that had this done I would automatically asked them to replace the rims before buying because I believe it diminishes the value of the vehicle. PLEASE SHARE help stop the damage to other customers cars. read more

I am 110% satisfied with the express interior clean that I got at the Scarborough Sparkle Clean Car Wash. They do these on Fri/Sat/Sun only and they are express drive up, not appointments. I drove up on Friday around 4:15 PM, no one ahead of me. They promptly took my order and had me pull in. I selected the $39.99 express interior which includes an exterior wash as well. They offered the option to scrub my rubber all-weather inside mats for an additional $5 and I took them up on it. It takes about 1 hour. They have a waiting room, but better yet, they are attached to Pho Hong an absolutely delicious Vietnamese restaurant that offers happy hour, great food and drinks, so easy to relax and wait for the car to be finished. Obviously something has seriously gone awry here with new owner/ management. I've been going to this location for 7 years; during the week; to have my car cleaned inside and out. This past Monday, 9/8/2014; I stopped by the location in Scarborough Maine with my car planning to have it serviced- cleaned inside and out. A young man waited on me; handed me the card of services; and when I asked to have it vacuumed and cleaned inside; was told- no, we only vacuum on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I was dressed in a business suit and dress shoes- I was told I could go vacuum the car myself- not exactly in my car cleaning clothes. I commented on the fact that I was the only customer there; and was told; well; there will be a backup of customers once we get started on your car- REALLY???? There sure weren't any cars behind me when I backed out and LEFT! I'm wondering if the fact that there were NO other customers there says something about the attitude and lack of service. Do not go here. 40.00 each for two cars. My car received a half-assed vacuum job. Mud left throughout the interior and on the dor panels. Rest of plastic interior not wiped down. My girlfiend's car was still muddy on the exterior, how does that happen? Complete waste of money. Not the same quality of service as existed many years ago. So eighty bucks for a job you would do better yourself. read more

I'll give a 2 for a review for transparency. I was not able to go through the car wash because the attendant told me up front that (stock) parts of my vehicle would most likely be broken off if I proceeded. I appreciate the honesty, but how can a normal vehicle be put in danger by going through a car wash? I have since learned that others' cars have been scratched and damaged here. read more

Very disappointed with the service on 6/24 and 6/25. New crew does half-assed job. My wife and I both purchased the VIP option. She on Sat, and myself on Sun. The intake initial wash was nonchalant, no attention to window edges, bugs, or wheels. No one dried my wife's car after it went through the wash and the kid that did mine acted like he had no interest in being there and gave it a quick, token effort. Where do I start? Used the monthly package during the winter months and it was good. It was kinda fun for my kiddos too! Today, I went through and there was a parked car at the end of the line. I was scared that if I moved my car out of neutral it would hurt my car. I had to brake and the owner came running out, Moved the car and left me to myself to figure out how to get off the track. My kid was a little scared too. No one wiped me down, and when I rolled my window down to talk to the owner , he just waived. I called to complain and cancel my subscription and all he had to say for himself is that the attendant should not have sent my car through and that he will cancel my subscription (although he mentioned that I saved 100$) snarky much? Is my money different because I choose a monthly package? This guy is the only game in town but if you have options please consider this review and the customer service. read more

We've been going to Sparkle Car Wash for a few months now, almost weekly and are disappointed to say it's gotten progressively worse. At first it was great and we were thrilled to have found it. Now, after bringing one vehicle through 6 times we've seen the service and quality levels decrease with every visit. This most recent time, not only did we have to wait several minutes for someone to even notice we were there, they did an extremely poor job with the pre-soak and bug removal. Not only that, by the time we go out of the wash, the entire car was not only poorly cleaned, it was covered with scratches. The hood and both sides literally have huge, wide scratches all over them. They definitely were not there when we drove in, and clearly could only have been caused by the wash. Paying $24/wash, we definitely pay attention to what the vehicle finish looks like. This is really disappointing and unfortunately we can only suggest finding another place to get your car washed. read more
