I hired Val twice, once to teach me how to operate my pool equipment, walk me through pool maintenance and second time was to upgrade my pool equipment from a single speed pump to a variable speed pump (Aquastar brand). Val hauled away all the old equipment, cleaned the surrounding area and spray painted the old/new equipment black. Val is very trustworthy, I had to work that afternoon so I told him to lock up after he left and when I returned in the evening, the area was clean, gate was locked, and equipment was running. Prettay, prettay, prettay, pretty good. Great, in fact. Val's been cleaning our pool for about 3.5 years now, and you really don't even have to think about it. Whether you're home or not, everything about your pool is taken care of. It's honestly never dirty, and I can take a swim whenever I want. Once, after a lightning storm, there was a ton of debris in the pool. I called Sparkle, and they came in a couple of hours as they were in the neighborhood, and cleaned it right up. Anyway, the point is, again, that you don't have to worry. They don't scent the pool with jasmine or stock your bar, but that's not what pool cleaners do. I recommend these guys. read more

Excellent company. Val installed new variable speed pump and cartridge filter system to replace my old single speed pump and DE filter system. Pool has never looked better. I called Val and explained what i was looking for, and within minutes he provided recommendation and pricing. His pricing is very reasonable, includes top of the line equipment, and he does not try to up sell you what you do not need. He had equipment the next business day, and did install the day after that. The reason why I chose Sparkle Pool & Spa was that Val seemed very knowledgeable about the pool pump system and even offered to help fill out the PG&E rebate for the pool pump I had chosen. Val came over today to change my pool pump because I thought it had gone bad due to the circuit breaker tripping each time I turned it on. Val did some quick electrical diagnostics and figured out that my circuit breaker was tripping because of the pool light (water was visible in the pool light cover). I really liked my interaction with Viral and his brother. I found Viral from Yelp for installing a new variable speed Pentair pump (he is an authorized technician to install Pentair pumps, and you need someone authorized to get warranty from Pentair) and a huge 725 sq ft filter from Hayward. He was quite prompt and professional in his response during the purchase process and kept me updated about the status of the equipments. He also promptly installed the pump and filter as soon as he got them. In my opinion he exceeded my expectation in several areas: 1. In prompt communication, and very friendly and professional installation 2. I requested him to install the equipments in front of me, if possible, as I was very curious to learn about the installation process. He accommodated that! 3. During installation I was continuously harassing him with gazillion noob questions, and he was very patiently answering those 4. It was raining and he asked me if it's ok to delay the installation until rain stops. As I had to go to office, I asked him if it's possible to install under an umbrella. He accommodated that with a very friendly face. 5. My pool sweeper was not working, and he fixed that even though that was not part of his work 6. He noticed that my previous shut-off valve was not working properly, and it also lacks one additional shut-off valve and he again went out of his way to replace those 7. His final installation looks really professional and aesthetically pleasing (he reorganized previous equipment locations to accommodate that) However, I would like to mention his service is slightly more expensive than others! I had to pay about 10% extra on the pump and filter installation (about $200). I also would like to mention that previously my pool water turned green and I asked for a quote from him and because his quote was high, I didn't give him that work. This time, reading other yelp reviews, and given the fact that pump and filter are long time investment, I went ahead and paid the 10% premium. I consider it money well spent. And I am saying that from my past experience with other pool company who cleaned the green water. read more

Our pump has been leaking now since before Labor Day and I have yet to hear back from Sparkle Pool for someone to come out and take a look to access the problem.
