For those who want to play football but are scared of the heat, SPARTA is the perfect playground for you! Located in the heart of Mandaluyong City, SPARTA or the Sports & Recreational Training Arena is the newest state-of-the-art training facility here in Metro Manila. And when you hear about the services they offer, you'll understand why.
Currently they have an indoor football field - which is FIFA accredited, mind you - so if you're in the mood to play some futsal, this is the place to go to. My friends and I have played on their indoor football field just for kicks and it was a ton of fun! Definitely so much better than our usual eat-out catch-up sessions.
One thing to note though, and I believe could be improved, would be the ventilation inside the indoor football field. I think there were only about 6 to 8 small fans in the area so when you start to sweat a lot, it tends to get a little claustrophobic. So if you visit anytime after lunch, I really wouldn't recommend it. Try swinging by at around 5pm when the sun's about to set.
If you aren't a big football fan, there are still a ton of other activities you can do while you're here. They have a function room that offers different classes such as Yoga, Pilates, Dance and Martial Arts. And opening real soon on the other side of the facility is the 360 Fitness under coach Chappy Callanta.
SPARTA also has locker rooms with (READ: CLEAN) showers for those who want to freshen up after every session. The location of the facility is also pretty accessible plus parking won't be a problem as it has a big compound to accommodate more or less 40 cars. Overall, I'd recommend paying a visit to SPARTA and checking first hand what the fuss is all about. read more
