It appears that there are a few covered picnic areas but I'm unsure about the condition of the run down looking tennis courts and playground areas throughout the park. I only noticed a few runners/walkers on a paved path along the east perimeter. There is a horseshoe pitching area further in the park. Also, the NELA soccer complex is located within the park on the east side. The 204 acres, 18-hole golf course is situated within the 500 acres of Chennault Park. However, I cannot give an accurate review since I'm not a golfer, nor am I knowledgeable with the ins and outs of the course. Driving by, the course looks nice and properly maintained. I guess the general public doesn't usually frequent the park because it is a bit hidden and is probably better known to the golfing community or those who use the outdoor soccer fields. It would be nice to have a picnic here when the weather cools down and it's not triple digits temperatures outside. Please check out this local park when you find the time!

The reason I gave such a low rating is due to the way the management allows the local membership to completely disregard golf etiquette. As I stated, I have played 10-14 rounds here and I have consistently caught up to a group of 5-8 players playing together. Yesterday my twosome played behind a group of six for 7 holes, never once did they invite us to play through. The group ahead were driving their carts all around the greens, leaving ball marks and overall playing with what looked to be a complete disregard for the course. They were obviously local members since many had their own personal carts. Yesterday will be my last round at Frenchman's Bend.

When I asked him to order them correctly and took the irons back immediately that he ordered incorrectly, he screamed and hollered at my wife, acting like a complete jackass in front of customers - super unprofessional and un-Christ-like. I will never do business with anyone who acts ungodly and gets mad when his mistakes are pointed out; so much for customer first and keeping people happy by giving them what they want!!!

When I ventured to the shoes, I caught myself ogling and ahhhh-ing all the fancy footwear selections for just about every type of sport. I wanted one of each of every type of shoe! *faints* You definitely must be on a mission before venturing inside, otherwise you can get lost in how overwhelming it is!
