They have a special way of incorporating God into swimming, hiking, arts and crafts, dancing and socialization that as a kid I didn't see overtly, but as an adult I realize how awesome that was. I attended camp from 8 years old through the age of 19 (the last year as a counselor). My son and daughter both attended Hardtner for over 10 years straight and are planning for their children to attend. I am still in touch with many campers I've met there (BTW, I'm 67 years old!) and have developed lifelong friendships that are amazing. I would give it 6 stars if they'd let me! How blessed I was and I am.

EXCEPT the guy running the train and two men cleaning the alligator pen. The girl in the bird encounter cage was rude, seemed very annoyed by everyone walking in to visit, and talking on her phone. Some of the cages had a lot of trash. I feel this place has a lot of potential and could use some updates. The boat ride was very nice but I don't recommend with a toddler who is on the move as it was hard to be still the whole time.

They have a semi decent selection of animals and the zoo itself isn't terribly small. Definitely got my steps in. I would say it's more for kids because of the size of the zoo but adults can enjoy it as well. One thing I really didn't like tho is that some of the animals seemed to be really depressed. A lot of them were pacing around their enclosures like they wanted to escape. I don't blame them cause a lot of the enclosures are WAY too small for the animal it holds. It's also not good to have them be alone. Felt really bad when I thought about it. I think the only reason I would go back is to support the animals. I mean, once you've been there once it really doesn't seem like a repeat place.

She had asked for a ranch "experience"…read more What we found was indeed a ranch experience, she spent days on horseback, with border collies who herd cows (and kids) and with the nicest crew of any organization we have ever visited. We were catered to from the first phone call. They even made a birthday dinner/cake and joined the celebration. Will took extra care to make sure everyone in our party was engaged, the interns and Will made sure the horse experience was appropriate, fun and informative for our kids including our 6 year old with a prosthetic leg. The kithen and ranch staff are friendly and efficient and more concerned with our comfort than the staff at 5 star resorts! Lodging is rustic, food is simple, so if you want a taste of country life....this is Green Acres!
