Those trees are more than landscaping to us -- they are part of the character and spirit of our property. Their sweeping branches, strong trunks, and quiet presence create a setting that feels peaceful, welcoming, and dignified. So when Danny from Cruz Lawn and Tree first visited and gently suggested that some work might be needed, I'll be honest -- we were worried. Anyone who loves trees understands that fear. We were concerned that trimming could turn into overcutting, that our beloved live oaks might lose the very shape and presence that makes them so breathtaking. But from the very beginning, it became clear that Danny and his team respect trees. They don't rush in with saws. They assess. They explain. They listen. They understand that every property -- and every tree -- has its own integrity that needs to be preserved. Yes, there were branches removed. Some of them were ones we had grown attached to over the years. That's never easy. But what stood out most was how intentional the work was. Nothing was cut needlessly. Nothing was stripped away carelessly. Every trim seemed to serve a purpose: health, safety, long-term strength, and aesthetic balance. When the work was complete, the most surprising thing happened -- our grounds looked even more stunning than before. The live oaks still retained their majestic character. Their natural form was preserved. In fact, they looked healthier, lighter, almost as if they could breathe more freely. The canopy was shaped in a way that enhanced the beauty instead of diminishing it. Cruz Lawn and Tree truly understands how to care for mature trees, especially live oaks that require knowledge, precision, and respect. They know that you don't "hack back" something that has taken decades to grow. You steward it. You protect it. You make thoughtful decisions so that it can continue thriving for decades more. What we appreciated most was their balance: protecting the integrity of the trees while also improving their health and appearance. That takes experience and skill. If you love your trees and are nervous about trusting someone with them, I completely understand -- we were too. But Cruz Lawn and Tree earned our trust. They didn't take away the beauty of our grounds. They enhanced it. They helped our trees become even more striking than they already were. Our property remains breathtaking, and we are grateful for professionals who treat trees not as obstacles, but as living treasures. Highly recommend.

We are new to Charleston and he took the time to not only show us houses but show us the city with all its beautiful parks and beach areas. His connections are vast, and I can say with confidence that he can either answer any real estate/area question or knows someone who can. Catherine Laffitte was awesome to work with and the search site they provide was extremely helpful. Cat (what her friends call her) is a good listener but an even better question asker. Her ability to help is just what we needed to make a good decision. Sure she wants to sell you a home but she really wants to make sure it's one you will be happy owning. She has a deep knowledge of the market and will be with you up to and after the sale. We've said many times that we will never move again, that said, Cat will be our realtor.

The girl that showed us the property didn't even bother to introduce herself to me or shake my hand and seemed like she did not want to be there. Ultimately, despite wanting to, we didn't get to rent the property because CPC's communication was dismal. They did not return voicemails. Most recently, because we were having difficulty reaching anyone with the ability to provide answers and we happened to be down the street from their office, we walked in. It was reminiscent of the scene from Wolf of Wall Street, where Leonardo discovers the penny stocks company and walks into their office. Low social skills, low competence, and it didn't seem like anyone there really wanted to help us. To me, it seemed like a group of interns with no supervisor. My wife is Chinese, a non-US citizen. We have submitted for her lawful permanent residence, and she won't have a SSN# until the "green card" is received. They took a scan of her passport and said they would get back to us most likely later that day regarding a screening. It's been almost a week. We rented a different property from a different company that treated us with respect and actually worked to provide a SERVICE, which is the keyword I think those that work at this company forget. It's probably a good thing we did not sign a contract with this company as after looking at reviews it seems many folks have regretted doing so.

They apparently read YELP Reviews but do not return phone calls to the residents that live in their communities. Residents wouldn't have to post Yelp Reviews if AMCS would return their phone calls, or respond to their e-mails regarding the matters addressed in my initial review. It's not that people want to voice their concerns in public forums but people have a right to know what others have experienced as residents within an AMCS community, at that point they can make an informed decision as to whether or not they would choose to live in one. Thank you Jaime K. (From AMCS) for pointing out that at one time my regime fees were behind, I already mentioned that in my review of the attorney that AMCS utilizes to handle their legal matters. I'm glad that you brought that up, people should read that review as well when making a decision as to whether or not to reside in an AMCS Community.

The company was backed up and she warned us it would be late August, which we were fine with. When the office contacted us for our day, she asked if Wednesday at 7:30 would be good. I told her perfect...we had company in town, and we could knock this out in the early morn and get on with our day. But.....10:30 is when they actually showed up, no call of apology or anything. I actually called them, and she got kind of snippy "do you just want to cancel then?" It was a disappointing customer service moment. The person doing our gutters had no idea what the job was, and my husband had to walk him through the whole thing all over again. Remember the notes taken at the first meeting? Obviously not passed on. Then as the truck was leaving, I don't know how he did it but he dragged the rim of the truck or something and left a 2 ft and 4ft gouge, 1/2 inch deep in some spots, at the end of the driveway....Yes, he was aware, as he got out, saw it, and apologized, but gave us no info on reparations.
