Honestly, no other way to describe her.... disgust. I was inquiring about a specific deed and she was pressuring me to do a quit claim. I mentioned to her more then once that this is not the type of deed I was looking into. Her entire tone was rude and belittling. She then decided to LIE and tell me Chicago doesn't do gift deeds. It wasn't until I mentioned that I spoke to multiple attorneys in Chicago that mentioned they do gift deeds, that she finally admitted that HER OFFICE only does quit claim deeds. Not only this but talking to her felt like I was a kid being yelled at by my parent. Her tone was unnaturally loud, unsettling, and rattled my energy. I even told her that I am just a possible customer asking questions (like anyone would) and if she could just calm her tone down with me.... She Did Not. She has a very loud pitch voice as if she's desperate for validation and business. I was immediately turned off by her entitled, I know it all, you know nothing, rudeness. Pros: cost efficient Cons: 1. rattling unsettling voice I mean gave me super anxiety to the point where I had to hang up (I'm not going to sit on the phone and take verbal abuse when I remained calm and kind) 2. Dishonest 3. Loud and definitely not a people person 4. Not a good listener 5. Very stressed out impatient energy. If she gave me this vibe over the phone imagine in person. I partly blame myself for not researching her background and ability to complete a real estate transaction. She is not extremely experienced at all. Nancy extended the Attorney Inspection period without our verbal or written consent. Which resulted in us making changes to our house to please the "buyer" only for us to find out they could still back out. Which they did. After they backed out, we expected earnest $... Isn't that what it's for? We never would have extended that period. We were shocked by her lack of communication. After the entire miscommunication, Nancy apologized profusely and offered multiple times to waive her attorney fee. We accepted the deal and moved forward. Today we closed on our house and she took her fee out of our profits. Not surprised but disappointed. Why tell someone you will waive the fee and then go back on your word? Nancy's answer to charging us (via her assistant because she will not ever email or call you herself).... "It was more work then I expected" Like I said... RUN!!!!!!

During this time,…read moreI found her behavior to be incredibly unprofessional, strange and was only validated in my worry when she openly used an ableist slur in my home-while not masking appropriately to boot. I also found Ms.Larimer to be biased by her own life experiences and quite egotistical about her profession and privilege, talking about herself and her experiences constantly. She holds a lot of power in the most heart wrenching and significant moments of a parent's life but does not appreciate the weight of it, particularly if you are different from her. She needs intensive training in how to be a trauma-informed and non-biased person, especially in her work. Otherwise she is no different from any other attorney who does not care and just wants $$$. Her recommendations have had terrible repercussions for my child that continue to this very day. On top of everything, she is so expensive it becomes unfeasible to actually work through issues because she's charges you so much for absolutely everything. I would NOT recommend Ms.Larimer for anything unfortunately.
