I'd had Specsavers recommended to me from about five other people (one of whom works in a competing optometrist) and their 2-for-1 deals can't hurt either. I was able to book an eye test appointment online, walked in and didn't have to wait long to get in the chair and start the test. The optometrist was lovely and told me about what each of the tests was for, and explained everything to me easily. My only gripe with the service is that I was bounced around between about five different staff during the time I was there, so this got a little confusing. Do they work on commission? I used to work on commission so I generally try to make sure whoever's helping me gets the sale, but no idea if that's the go for this store. Despite this, every staff member made sure I had all the information I needed about my glasses, made sure I was comfortable with my contacts when I was trialling them, gave me some time alone to pick out a pair of frames, and at no point did I feel rushed even though the store was packed with shoppers. Very happy with my experience here, and ended up purchasing a pair of normal glasses, sunglasses, and contacts. While I was in store a staff member also helped me set up an online account so that I can reorder contacts when my prescription runs out. Very helpful!

Unfortunately I still have perfect vision, however I also still love glasses so every now and then I consider getting a faux pair for when an outfit really needs a touch of 'naughty librarian' to complete the look. I haven't done it yet, but I do like to go look. Oh, and my husband has just caved and gotten glasses so I have an even better excuse now. What I'm getting to is LensPro has a pretty good range of frames, at prices that aren't quite as good as SpecSavers but are close. The range is heaps more styling than SpecSavers so if I ever get to legitimately buy glasses I'll be spending even more time looking here.

I have stood on my glasses and nearly squashed them but they have resurrected them for me for free. I often have issues with the legs (as I buy very light frames) they fix them for me without question there and then. They even offer discounts for repeat customers. I like their choice of frames, but I think if I fell for something else they would try to help. And this has been consistent over several years... So what more could you ask:)?

I've been with OPSM for a long time, although this isn't my usual store, although some of the optometrists working here are ones I've seen before. I was greeted by one of the staff who offered to help me choose some frames, and I ended up booking in for a check up (I was due), and they had an appointment in ten minutes time, perfect! The check is free, but they DO charge $60 for the photograph of your eyes. It's completely optional, but if you have certain medical conditions it's good to get that stuff checked out. The optometrist was lovely and thorough, and I also got a free trial of some contact lenses, a new type that are far more comfortable to those I'd previously had. In the end I came away ordering some new glasses, as well as covering them for damage and loss, well worth it in case I break these ones too! Look, I know there's places offering full sets of prescription glasses for next to nothing, and if I wore them only sometimes I'd probably do that, but for all day every day, I want nice, comfortable, hard wearing frames that I like the look of, and OPSM have a great range, and throw in your UV protection, scratch protection, thinner lenses, and all of a sudden that $100 pair isn't really any less than what OPSM are charging. Certainly can't complain about this store, it's a good one!

Have found Olivia the optometrist very polite, professional and consistently customer service focused over the four years. Nothing has ever been too much trouble and you can just pop in there whenever you have any concerns about your eyes and they are always ready to alleviate any concerns. I am very impressed with the whole staff and recently dealt with Murray the optical dispenser who could not have been more patient and explained everything to me, very customer orientated which is unusual anywhere these days. Scan results and the doctors report are made available to you through a personalised login portal online and they are posted quickly. This is a privatised business and as such only standard X-rays are bulk billed. All other scan types are eligible for a Medicare rebate if the criteria is met. The costs per scan are considerably higher than all other radiologists I could find in this area, however their availability is the quickest around. They have been able to quote a next day appointment where others were over a week. The difference was $150 after rebate, around $100 more than everyone else. The rebate is returned within 3 business days as standard. Low star rating is purely based on the staff attitude. I'm not sure if everyone is just having a bad week, but after attending this establishment two times within a week, I've been consistently appalled with the lack of polite greetings, poor attitudes.

I'd give them five stars but for one bad experience a couple years ago. My glasses just weren't right. I took them back, they put new lenses in, still not right. I kept going back, and the girl at the counter said she'd email their lens specialist and give me a call. Well, they never did call. Not until I put a complaint in via the OPSM website, then I got a call from the manager. She explained the girl had emailed the specialist, but they were leaving the job, so didn't bother replying. The girl claimed she had called, but there were no missed calls on my phone. Anyhow. Manager asked me to come in and see her, and she explained that the glasses I had bought (despite being assured they were fine for prescription lenses) were too curved for prescription lenses, and that's why they weren't right for me, but they would replace the frames, and if the new ones cost more (which they did) I would not be charged any extra. So in the end it all worked out, and I have continued to return and have had no trouble since. I must admit, once I contacted head office they really stepped up the service, but I have to think that I should never have had to do that in the first place.
