Office staff is unprofessional! 1. They set me up with the wrong email address, so I didn't receive the paperwork for intake 2. The intake paperwork contains a single form with 350 questions, many of which are essay style. The intake worker didn't have access to my finished form, although I could see it online via the portal. 3. The first appointment is for intake. I received a call the morning of the interview saying they'd need to reschedule because the intake worker hadn't been notified of the appointment. 4. The intake worker phoned 15 minutes late. I had already phoned the office to find out where I should be logged in, and they told me I would be notified when my appointment started. I had to explain multiple times that the appointment time was in the past. I was told "that shouldn't be the case", and then "she'll call you." read more

One star only because I have to. Honestly I've oscillated between this place being scam and being irresponsible, but calling it a scam makes light of the dangerous situation that is spectrum behavioral health. They actively let people run out of their antidepressant prescriptions and seem to have no sense of urgency when dealing with the debilitating effects. They push patients onto "substitute" psychs who are barely available and give all of 5 seconds to understand your case, while never actually letting you re-see your actual psych. They make up late payments and then hold your medicine as ransom to force you to pay double or triple your copay. They send no updates about prescription refills, upcoming appointments, doctors going out on vacation or leaving, or their working hours changing. Honestly this place should be steered clear of for any mental health issues and should probably be reported to the better business bureau if not the NYS medical licensing board. They're itching for a malpractice suite with their flippant attitude towards brain-altering drugs and the consequences of them. read more

Front desk staff in the Poughkeepsie office is very unprofessional, you can tell they hate their job, they are rude to clients who come in and to clients on the phone! I'm sure the counselors are great but something should be done about the receptionist there. read more

Completely corrupt business. The employees from reception to the psychiatrists at the Kingston location have some serious problems. Leaving patients stranded and without medication, never answering the phone and when they do they yell like bratty children. Clearly hate their jobs. Don't bother with spectrum. read more

Don't let their appearance fool you. Let me start by saying that the clinicians that I've dealt with here have been spectacular. Each provider is different, but I must have gotten lucky because mine have been nothing but helpful, caring and compassionate. Appearances are sometimes deceiving, and that is the case here. Spectrum is a group of private providers who are only affiliated with the company because they need an office to manage their claims and such. I've been able to make great progress with my providers at Spectrum. That being said, Spectrum's offices are a disaster. The Poughkeepsie office is ill-maintained and filled with furniture and equipment that is woefully in need of repair or replacement. They will not keep you on the schedule for consistent appointments so you need to go directly to the desk after each visit and book as far out as you can if you go there regularly. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS for copays; I've been double-billed for payments that weren't entered into the computer on multiple occasions. In summary, give them a try if you don't mind the potential for administrative headaches and the need to have a hawk-like focus on policing your billing and protecting your regularly scheduled appointments. As frustrated as I've been with them, my experience with my providers there has been more than worth it. Five stars for the doctors; two for the office itself. read more

This is perhaps the worst possible collection of support staff, receptionist, LPN's that one organization could gather. I scheduled an appointment in Phk at 7 pm. When I arrived the door was locked but receptionist was inside. She would not open the door for me. The straw for me was in my last appt. with Laurel Paporto- incompetent and bumbling are two adjectives to describe her total lack of compassion. She nervously fiddled with the computer for the entire session, insisted on changing my meds that I have taken for 7 years and when I asked to discuss it with her she said, "I'm trying to do this, but you keep going 'ba ba ba ba'"making a yapping dog gesture with her hand. I was stunned that this person is licensed as a psychiatric nurse as she clearly has zero communication skills or compassion. read more

I would love to be able to write a review of the services themselves - unfortunately, I did not even have the opportunity to set foot in their offices in the first place. I called the AM of my appointment to confirm the address, and was told to go to the Fishkill office on Route 9. When I arrived there 15 minutes early, I found the entire office was dark and locked. (Cue slow sinking feeling.) I called them back and was told, by a receptionist who actually laughed at me, that the Fishkill office was closed on Tuesdays and that I should have gone to the Poughkeepsie office instead. I reminded her that I had been told to go to Fishkill and the receptionist laughed again and actually asked me "Are you sure you know the difference between Fishkill and Poughkeepsie?" (Subtitled: "You are either an idiot or are making my life difficult on purpose.") I bit my tongue and said yes, I know the difference. The reason I specifically asked YOUR office for the address is because I know you have multiple locations and wanted there to be no confusion over which one I was supposed to attend. I was told by YOUR office to report to the Fishkill office. So that is what I did. "Well I have no idea who said that to you," she dismissed, as if the entire thing were a joke (for all I know, judging from how seriously she seemed to take her job, she could have been the one who gave me the wrong address in the first place). I'm on three different prescriptions, one of which can cause seizures if discontinued abruptly, so I asked her what she suggested I do about stopping my meds. "I'm sorry ma'am, there's nothing we can do for you." Then I asked if the doctor could wait 10-15 minutes for me to drive to the Poughkeepsie office. "I'm sorry ma'am, the doctor runs on time." Then I asked if there was any way they could fit me in later in the day or even anytime that week. "I'm sorry ma'am, we're booked solid." I then basically sat on the phone for another 10-15 seconds, mindblown, trying to put together one more coherent sentence. The receptionist sighed impatiently and said, a final time, "I'm sorry ma'am, there's nothing we can do for you." And hung up on me. ...I ended up having to go to the St. Francis Emergency Room and spent half a day in the inpatient psych ward, paper gown and all, in order to get my scripts refilled. Waiting times are ridiculous. Sometimes the Drs aren't there when they should be. They charge you if your late yet have no problem leaving you waiting well beyond your appointment time. There is only one receptionist in the entire place that is actually pleasant to work with, the rest are rude an unhelpful. Very unhappy with this practice. read more

The first therapist I was given was awful to work with. He self described his behavior as "rude". I told him it felt mean. He spoke badly to me, even after I asked him to speak nicely, but he refused. I walked out on the session. Something I never did before. I explained clearly to the office manager the skills I needed in a therapist, and the 2nd therapist they assigned to me did not have these skills. They recommended a group that it turns out is for people who have issues unrelated to mine. This place is, at best, unresponsive to patient needs. read more

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!! These doctors have more mental problems than their own patients. My first doctor walked out on me and left me stranded without any medication, literally was unaware and thrown to the dogs. My next doctor Linda Callvacca prescribed me medicine and made sure I didn't have enough so I AWLAYS had to come back. I've been on the same medicine for 2 years now... No reason I should have to come back EVERY. SINGLE. MONTH. It's all a money making business with them. They don't care and won't even try to help their patients. They won't even give me access to my OWN medical records which I'm pretty sure is illegal!!!! I've also been threatened; there was an instance that I had an appointment so I drove an hour away there just for them to say they can't see me or refill my prescription until I pay my bill (my father was in charge of this and pays them.) They denied me my prescription so I had to stop cold turkey which is so so bad for you. This place is a scam and even asks you what medication you want to be on which is really terrifying. Please for your own safety and health, do NOT go here. I'm on hold with the Better Business Bureau to shut this firm down. Scary. read more

As a provider, I have called Spectrum several times during the day, including leaving messages, in order to set up an appointment for patients. The response has been awful, which has set the patient back from being discharged. When I've called the main number, they've told me "sorry, but you have to call the intake number". It has been an ongoing issue. read more

This place is awful. They are only concerned about taking your money. Dr. Weiler will talk nonsense during most of your visit, not address any of your issues, and then tell you that you need to pay your co-pay and come back for another visit. I had testing done and did not receive results until over 2 months later, after many many complaints and left messages. I was told that I needed to pay $150 for the test report and only received a summary report. I was then told that to receive the full report, I needed to pay another $300. Then I was told that the summary report was the full report. The staff is rude, and so is the psychologist. The psychologist inappropriately complained about how he would not get paid for taking the time to write out a full report, and complained about Spectrum Behavioral Health's own policies. I know I am not the only one who has had problems with this place. Unless you want an unprofessional psychologist to provide inaccurate and uncompleted test results for a lot of money, DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

Have had so many problems with Spectrum. Dr Schmugler was dismissive and refused to believe I have autism despite being diagnosed by the man she sent me to, which means she did not incorporate that into my treatment. She used very outdated language and theory such as asking me how many tattoos I had in order to diagnose me. I've also had so, so many problems with the front desk, they never answer the phone and the machine is for emergencies only so no appt making. One time I called two days in a row many times to cancel and they never picked up so I owed them a $50 cancellation fee. Another time my pharmacist had to get in contact about something and it again took several calls over two days (at least they answered this time). Also my insurance changed and when I gave it to the front desk they said they took it, but after several appointments I was informed they actually do not and I owed several hundred dollars. However, one good point is the therapist Jennifer Strano, a very kind understanding and thoughtful lady. She works from other offices though, I believe, so even then you don't have to Spectrum. read more

Crap, Crap, Crap !!!! This place is run buy a bunch on no-nothings. Waited 20 mins. or more on the phone waiting to make an appointment then was treated rudely by person on the phone. When I asked if I could see someone earlier was told a flat out NO. Once I Arrived at the Poughkeepsie Office I was again treated like the only reason I was there was for my co-payment. Waited over an hour to be seen, when I asked the front desk how much longer it would be, they just shrugged their shoulders. I wound up walking out leaving my co-payment "not wanting to upset the person at the front desk again" and went to the local Hospital ER and was seen within 20 mins. You would think that someone with a Mental Health Problem would be treated with a little more respect !!!! I will never admit I've been to this place fro some of my friends might think I'm an ASS !!!! I've seen Monkey's at a the zoo preform better then the way that office is being run. read more
