I have nver had a better experience with anything health wise than what he did for me. I had no pain whatsoever after surgery and no complications with anything. Also my sight is now 20-20 and cant believe how excited i am to have it back. If you need cataract surgurey this is the place to go.

Dr. Steve Bubanko is so informative when going over your results. The eyes and the mechanics behind them are truly fascinating. Afterwards he suggested I might be interested in progressive glasses. He explained how they work but he did not push or pressure me into my decision. When I did make that decision to give them a try, the ladies up front were so helpful. I must have tried on 10 pairs and the ones I did try on, they set aside to sterilize later. On a side note, I have a special needs son that has gone in to see Dr. Bubanko years ago. Steve's patience and caring was nothing short of amazing. There can be no other eyecare facility as great as this one.

His kindness was shown even more when he took the time to thoroughly examine my mother in law who was visiting from another country and does not speak English, then he didn't even charge us for the exam. Not only is he great, his wife and staff are all great too I love talking with everyone there. I feel this is the way doctors used to be when they actually had time to care for their patients. Don't shy away from the small building across from all the big box stores, this office is truly a gem in New Lenox.

5 Stars for Dr. Greathouse but negative stars for Provena!…read more I still adore Dr. Greathouse, but their office is disorganized, as I mentioned before. The third or fourth time I went in, it was just for a blood draw for labs (wasn't seeing the doctor at all) and it took them 30 minutes to find the order. I could hear the nurse and receptionist talking about me that I'd never been there before. Then the receptionist called me to the desk and said, "You've never seen the doctor. You've only been here for a flu shot!" She was right that I did get a flu shot in November. (But wrong on everything else). Finally, they found the lab order. I wanted to leave and say screw it, but I was leaving the next day for a road trip (ROAD TRIP!) for a three weeks, so I needed it taken care of right then. Thus, I should not be surprised that their billing department is totally messed up. I keep getting bills from a third-party billing company, and when I called the other day, they said they couldn't access Provena's system, so they couldn't see if the payment came in. I said, "Let me get this straight: Provena hired you to handle billing, but payments come to them, not to you, and they post them in their system that you cannot see?" Yes. My insurance company says they paid the claim in full on May 5, and I'm inclined to believe them if only because they've paid the other other claims on this policy (my domestic partner has seen several physicians and even been hospitalized ) in a timely manner. I recommend Dr. Greathouse, but I don't recommend Provena. Avoid Provena at all costs. I want her to move to another clinic. I don't want to lose her (it's hard to find a doc you like, am I right, ladies?) but I don't know if I can deal with Provena any more. I'm worried for my credit rating. And I've worked hard for that credit rating.

He had an overall excellent experience and went home feeling well that evening. . But thank the Lord he is on Medicare because the two-hour OR surgery and post-op room bill arrived from Provena. Recovery room was $1791 and Operating Room Services was $12,191. Drugs for anesthesia and IV drip post op totalled $4239. Lab bill was $1674. M/S Sterile Supply charges were $4097. There was an item on the bill called Drug Spec ID Detail Coding for $4097. Altogether, the bill was about $26,000!! And that doesn't include the doctors! She also refused to give me the number for UHC to call. UHC confirmed that they DO NOT put the physician name on the ID cards. We waited two months for this appointment. Just incredibly rude treatment. I will take my complaint to Illinois Department of Public Health.
