It saw a few vendors outside the place giving away free things like water. The gallery did not allow us to bring in any food or drinks from outside lol and so we threw away the stuff we got. Inside the gallery, they had a nice sitting area with a bar. It was one crowded space. The bathroom were portables and yes there was a line. I did not like the limited bathroom situation. The artwork was beautiful and unbelievable. They had this silver futuristic sculpture that caused some attention. It was beautiful. It was very popular with the guys. A big crow was around it. I think it was inspired by a video game. I found the art vendors here not as approachable as the other galleries. My friend tried to ask a question to one and the guy pretend not to hear him. We then walked around and noticed some art vendors on the computer not interacting. This gallery has a different vibe, not as friendly. I did like the art work

Each artist represented had beautiful art and pieces of their soul displayed in a beautiful manor. Was honored to be able to meet and speak with some artists. Sir Daniel certainly was the most kind and approachable artist. Love the passion he expressed with each piece displayed. Cannot wait to make this part of my annual tradition.

It had a beautiful garden in the front lawn surrounded by art pieces & hammocks to relax on/unwind with skyscrapers in the background. Inside, there were fabulous paintings, sculptures, drawings and numerous unique pieces at some hefty prices. There were a handful of affordable pieces, but most were untouchable. The untouchable ones were sponsored by galleries. We collected information about the artists and learned the history and inspiration behind the pieces. If you make it on Second Saturday, well, all galleries are open late, and many galleries offer free drinks. Many galleries also have cash bars, if you really want to hang. If you like walking around, this could be a problem. The streets are packed with art lovers. If you like to sit down, this could also be a problem. It's overcrowded, and finding a seat may be a hard commodity to find, but don't lose hope. If you come to Second Saturday, you'll have fun.

How could I have not reviewed this before?…read more I was one of the brave souls exploring Wynwood back at the beginning in '02 / '03 when Second Saturdays had a more underground feel to it and was just three or four gallery spaces. (I remember this area when I went to high school nearby and it was just the hood, but I'll leave it at that...don't want any more gray hairs to pop up!) Anyways, Wynwood / Design District has grown up and diversified now and known by the mainstream. Nowadays you're likely to see a DJ performance in front of a local (non green mermaid) coffee shop with live breakdancing, live street painting, performance art such as planking in one of the public spaces, and bands in the other . You're also likely to run into a bunch of majorly cool people around the different galleries too. Don't forget the bunch of new restaurants, plus the food trucks either! Sure, parking can be an adventure and / or overpriced ($10 for an unimproved lot where my "Eleanor" gets dirty?? ) But what would a hot night in the city be without a little adventure!

I had VIP tickets to Art Wynwood, which also gave me access to the Boat Show next door…read more Unfortunately, it was torrential downpour, so the entire experience was not as enjoyable as it could have been, although that's not the fault of the venue. Fortunately, Art Wynwood was fully indoors. This was the first time I had been to Art Wynwood and I enjoyed seeing classic pieces from Latin American artists Wifredo Lam and Amelia Pelaez, pop and surrealist pieces from famous artists like Warhol and Dali, as well as contemporary pieces from lesser known artists around the world. I was really pleased that the show featured several local galleries showcasing local talent. Art Wynwood reminded me of a scaled down version of Art Miami, I thought it was very nicely produced and would love to go back next year.

A great gem of a studio in the heart of the Wynwood Arts district!…read more Fulwood Press has a regular Monday evening workshop designed to introduce fine art printmaking. They specialize in doing and teaching the making of etchings and monotypes and monoprints. If you'd like to participate, no reservation is necessary, just join at Fulwood Press' regular open studio, Monotype Monday. The studio is open beginning at 6:00 p.m., were the Master Printmaker will be on hand to help newcomers and experienced printmakers alike; he will offer tips, explain and demonstrate techniques, give critiques and do other things to help folks have a successful evening. The cost is only $25.00 which includes everything except etching plates and paper. Etching, monotype/monoprint and other fine art printmaking techniques are available, the studio is fully equipped and etching plates and paper are available for purchase or they may be brought in with you. Its is a great studio to learn new techniques, create art and have fun. The stuido is also open every day of the week, and you can reserve a slot to go work and/or have a class. You wont find a better equipped printmaking studio in Miami!

However, I'm a sucker for cute hostess girl with an invite! Off I trod down 24th Street to check out the space. Obviously I came back in one piece, and enjoyed an interesting photographic collection. I believe the exhibiting artist was a Brazilian gentleman who did interesting works with the natural reflection of water to create mirror images sans photoshop. Being Second Saturday night, there was also an assortment of crackers, hummus and red wine for your culinary pleasure. All in all a cool welcome to the Wynwood Art Scene!

Admission was reasonable for the exhibit at $23 (adjustable demand by day pricing... think it ranges up $40 Staffers were warm, friendly and helpful. The exhibit itself was a huge amount of fun. Be sure to explore the neighborhood outside as well as the museum...design district is incredibly cool. Old derelict warehouse neighborhood transformed into luxury boutiques. Parking in this neighborhood is almost never free...several different local parking garages or cheaper pay by phone on neighborhood streets (just be careful of residents only zones)

If you stand at the stores entrance and look in you see the whole museum for free, you're welcome! Honestly the art was good but it is ONLY that. I'm guessing they change exhibits, there was nothing about the museum itself or that talked about Art of HipHop in general. Their Graffiti museum was 20 times better.

Most of the limited floor space was dedicated to the artist Cey when I went. I probably wouldn't have even ventured over here but I got offered a discounted ticket as part of a twofer over at the Museum of Graffiti. That place is super cool but is similarly light on floor space. Maybe one day the two can combine and form like Voltron as Method Man said. Maybe add a breakdancing gallery and a bunch of other stuff. This isn't a bad little museum but for the money I can barely even recommend it as part of the combo with the Museum of Graffiti around the corner.
