And honestly, he must be right, because a line of customers formed right after we arrived! The biggest challenge was choosing a scone. They all sounded incredible (lavender blue corn, ginger, or green chili jack cheese), but I finally decided on their most popular flavor: cherry lemon. It did not disappoint! In fact, it was so good we went back and bought a second one right after the very first bite. Bonus points that they even have gluten-free options available. We enjoyed our coffee, tea, and chai in their lovely sunroom. If you're road-tripping through the area, this is a must-visit pit stop!

This place has by far the best espresso drinks in San Juan County, and is the nearest thing to a third wave coffee shop I've seen in the southeast quarter of Utah. The service was great, and the baristas were especially patient with my elderly father-in-law who is way out of his element in a modern cafe. Also, one corner of the front room is a miniature Back of Beyond bookstore (the best thing about Moab) filled with books from local writers and on local topics. Lastly, the decor and art in the shop was so good I couldn't help but wander around in a wide eyed daze with my cappuccino for a half hour.

The "open" sign was turned on but there was no one around. There was this poor dog chained to a tree, no water in sight.... anyhow, we waited for a few minutes and this jeep comes around with a woman and a guy... The woman got out and was so disappointed when she heard that we just wanted to sit down and have a coffee... She just said "you'll have to take it to go"... Just like that.. in our faces. My friend wanted a smoothie, I just got a frapuccino. She said she doesn't have smoothies because the "business has been slow". Well, no s**t, Sherlock.... what do you expect with that kind of attitude? So, my friend got one of those frozen desserts in a plastic baggie for a quarter. I was trying to do some small talk and said "do you get a lot tourists here", the answer was "how is that your concern?"... I have no idea why I didn't just walk out and left her in there to drink whatever she was making.... I left the 50 cents change on the counter, she goes "I don't need it"... I mean, I was speechless. I live in Chinle and there are not many places where you can just go and hang out... Heck, there are a few fast food and the two restaurants adjacent to three hotels in the area! I wanted to like this place: the name is cool, the reviews were decent, it sounds like it's ran but a woman, I wanted to give my money to a local business... But what a crappy run business, what a woman with a terrible attitude, what a horrible service... Go on your own risk, folks. You want a cool drink and a good atmosphere? This is most definitely not the place.

I discovered after coming here that I have a location near my home in Tempe. Ziggi's got their start here in the state of Colorado and sources their beans from Dillanos Coffee Roasters. This location is in Cortez and takes both drive thru and walkup orders. I enjoyed my Iced Latte for my road trip. They were fast here with my order and customer service was friendly. In addition to coffee drinks, Ziggi's Coffee also has sparkling sodas, teas, energy drinks and smoothies. The only issue that I had was the lid on my cup. I felt the coffee leaked out too many times while I was drinking. I should have grabbed a straw.

With such an extensive drink menu, there is easily something for everyone here. Our group definitely tried a variety of their drinks. Their Matcha was sweet and definitely more caffeinated than a typical Matcha. Colorado Mocha was a great twist on a regular mocha with the added sweetness and flair of the coconut and almond. And if your a fan of the Red Bull-style drinks then the Energy Infusions are for you - The Beach Bum had that same style with the refreshing quality of all the flavor additions. Also ended up adding on one of their bacon burritos, and for being a fast food establishment (and the fact this burrito was made FAST), it was actually surprisingly really good. Would definitely order it again if we returned. They moved through the drive-thru efficiently and had our order ready really quick. It was much appreciated because we were on a bit of a time crunch that morning. It is drive-thru only, so not the choice if you want to sit and enjoy. But for a quick grab-and-go, this is a great choice.
