Very poor customer service, never any paper in outside reader for receipts, employees very rude, flies all over food inside.

Decided to stop into Pekoe & Bean after passing by on my way to another stop. It's located in a…read morestrip mall but the inside is adorable with a homey/living room vibe, fun decor, and local art on display. They had a large main dining room with coffee bar to sit at as well as some back spaces to host events. They recently got new owners who are going to revamp the menu and offer more events to the community. Their menu was smaller but intriguing. They had great signature drink flavors that could be applied to different coffee style drinks. I got the Lavender Shortbread flavor as an iced latte and loved it! My husband got the Chai Latte which he wasn't quite fond of but they asked if he wanted cinnamon on top which was nice. Overall, coffee is their specialty and there's a reason why. I'm sure they have other tea drinks that may have been more favorable as well. I wouldn't mind coming back to enjoy a cup inside rather than to-go.

Pekoe & Bean is a longtime local favorite for breakfast and lunch too. A pretty simple menu great for groups. The prices are kind of high on a few items but it's great quality. Basic items are on the menu that are familiar. It's of course got coffee and tea. They have quite a variety. A lot of the classic favorites. Some unique specialties. It's about $6 to get a latte. They have a few of these. I got the Bananas Foster Latte. This is made with banana syrup. Also they have non dairy milks. The food menu includes salads and sandwiches. It's about $7 for a bowl of chili. This is vegan. Has quite a bit spiciness to it. This is a great one to warm up with. Also they have carrot soup which is great. They also have lots of pastries. Get great stuff at breakfast or lunch and enjoy it. It's open at breakfast and lunch. This is located on Oak Park Avenue at 171st Street.

Such a cute and quaint cafe. It has a nice, clean, homey and southern kind of vibe. I had the…read moreveggie breakfast sandwich and an Americano. The Americano was really hot and they even warm the cream for you. The sandwich tasted really good. Lots of avocado and the lemondono is as sweet which made the sandwich savory with a sweet little kick. The lady working the counter was extremely friendly and personable. It's located by the Metra so it's a perfect place to come by and grab a bite before getting on the train or even just work for a bit. Overall, a great experience and will definitely be back!

This one stays open until 7:00 p.m. during the week! When I first walked in, I had a terrible experience with Brittany. She seemed very preoccupied and when I asked her to explain something on the menu, she told me "it's pretty much what it says." When I expressed my displeasure with her response, she grabbed a menu to read it explaining that it was just added to the menu as if that excused her behavior. This left a very sour taste in my mouth but because I had a meeting, I sat down after ordering a pistachio latte. The Latte was amazing! Before leaving I ordered a second one, but I stayed and spent the day working. There are plenty of seats and there are a couple of really comfy couch spots. After a few people left, I was able to move to one of those spots and felt right at home. After Brittany left, I was able to relax a little bit more and had a very productive work day. The music is louder than I like; I had to take two business calls and both times they mentioned the noise level, but other than that,I love this spot. It is across the street from the metra train station where parking is free, so I don't anticipate ever coming here and having a hard time finding parking. I ended up eating lunch here and had a Cuban sandwich which was so good! And it was huge... So I took half home for dinner. The south suburbs need more places like this! I can't wait to come back.

Darla's claims to be a deli and gaming parlor, but they got rid of a lot of the menu since the last time. Has actual beers and a few premade cookies and stuff to choose from. There's also a few healthy options. A little place on the end of a strip mall. It doesn't look like much, and it isn't really. The inside has a few slots and tables. Also they have a few beers. It's about $2 for bottles of domestics. They have the usual stuff like Miller Lite. As for the food, it made changes to the menu about what is available. It's gotten rid of all the sandwiches, including the Peanut Butter And Jelly Sandwich. That sucks. It's about $2 for a bag of chips. There's not much in the way of food except some cookies and pastries. Cool place to have some beers and get food. It's unique from most delis because this has slots, so it's also a gaming parlor. The food menu is limited because there's no more of typical deli things, such as sandwiches.
