Flavors and textures were contrasting without being overwheling. Moved on to the Fjord shrimp with new potatoes, peas, browned butter and fermented whey sauce and it was also excellent in my book with super tender and fresh shrimp with flavorful potatoes. The Danish hiramasa with XO crème, green tomatoes, white currants and lime leaves was stunning as the fish was lightly cured while being light and refreshing. The Roast lamb from Vibygaard with artichoke, green olives, parsley cream and lamb sauce was a massive hit being cooked to a medium rare with plenty of fat for flavor. I think this must have been my favorite course of the evening. The Mariebollen with vanilla crème, rhubarb sorbet, meringue and hibiscus was also excellent being light, refreshing, and not overly sweet. I loved how the meal ended off with a few complimentary sweets from the kitchen.

Tradition is to eat the open sandwich using a fork and knife if you want to eat like a local. Service was excellent. Nice draft beer pilsner. The name of the restaurant comes from the year the building was rebuilt after a fire. Since it's a old building and it's been maintained in the same way including the cute way the floor slopes. Lunch time got very crowded. Of course if you step out of this side street you will find other restaurants a long the canal and Nyhaven. I'll look forward to being back on a future trip to Copenhagen.
