    Breaded Fish Fillet - DELICIOUS

The staff is amazing here. So kind, welcoming, engaging, and fun. The food is superior. The atmosphere is perfect for every mood. The music - classic American oldies. Went here twice in a few days. Can't wait to come back.

The "Danish Burger." It comes with gravy but I had already taken the picture. It was a hearty meal.

It was time to finally have some authentic to semi-authentic Danish food. Skindbuksen has been here since 1728 and it looks like a pub. It's rather quaint and smells rustic and looks great. Our server brought us menus and each of snagged a dish. I opted for the "Danish Burger" - they've simplified it for us non-Danish speaking folks, so I don't know what it's actually called in Danish. It's basically an open faced burger, with grilled onions and a nice fried egg over it - yes, it's of the runny kind (yolk porn, yo!). The sides consisted of boiled potatoes, beets, and a tomato wedge. There's not a lot it but the flavors and freshness of the ingredients are all there. The meal was fantastic. I washed it down with a glass of Belgian Ale (on tap) and that was terrific. Give yourselves some extra time, because each of us ordered an individual dish and it probably took 20-30 minutes for everything to come out. The dishes were piping hot, too, but this is definitely not fast food. The only gripe I would have would be that of service. Our server was lovely, sat us down, took our order and never came back until it was time for the check. Even when the dishes came out - it was a different server that gave them to us. That was quite odd. I could have gone for another drink but since she never came back to ask if I wanted a refill I didn't have one. This is why I love being in a country where you don't have to tip. 1-star gets knocked down for not-so-great service.

Stopped in for an early dinner before heading to the airport after a weekend in Copenhagen. I had no reservation, but was seated immediately. Had an amazing pork roast dinner! Crispy skin. Moist meat. Amazing gravy. Wonderful cabbage, pickles and boiled potatoes. Cool ambience and very good service.

A traditional Danish restaurant with very good location, pretty popular among locals. The environment is excellent, which remind me of danish "hygge".It is advisable to book your seats in advance. The staff there is nice and helpful and you can always ask them for recommandations. The foods were delicious with very danish way of cooking, though I must say they are not as tasty as I'd expected for their price.

For the last dinner with my parents in Copenhagen, we picked this place and oh boy! We enjoyed it so very much! My mom asked me to take photos of the meal and to leave 5-star review and I couldn't agree more with her. We had the deluxe plate and a veal liver, it was awesome. Loved the caramelized onions, enjoyed the pork roast with the crispy skin. Service was friendly and loving. The atmosphere here proves that people in Copenhagen enjoy to spend time together, and welcome guests.

Was in Copenhagen for a few days in business - asked the hotel for a few recommendations and they suggested the area around this restaurant and a few "trendy" restaurants - I looked at their suggestions and they did look trendy but I want something with more character. I stumbled into this restaurant by accident. Walked down the stairs as the restaurant is in the 1/2 basement and entered in to the year 1757! No tourists ! Great ! A relatively small place with a guy playing on the piano. Was greeted by the friendly barman and sat down at a nice little table facing the bar. Everyone speaking Danish around me - paintings on the walls and hanging on the ceilings .. Started with a pint of local beer (of course!) then asked for a recommendation - he recommended a typical Danish dish with porc, potatoes and cabbage - how can you go wrong ! It was delicious ! I really enjoyed this restaurant the ambiance and friendly staff. So much so I went back again the next night for dinner again !

We found Skindbuksen through the Yelp app, in search of traditional Danish cuisine. The staff there was so lovely and the service was prompt. We ordered fish and a stew (which was recommended to me), skipping starters as we heard the portions are plentyful. And they were. The best part however was the atmosphere. There was a guy playing piano and the locals who dined there joined in signing what in German would be called 'Schlagermusik'. Everyone was just happy and relaxed. I guess that what they mean with 'hygge'.

Stumbled upon this place for dinner. The waiter welcomed us and shared the place had frequent regulars, pointing them out. Two welcomed us, as well, asking how long we were visiting. We chose the wienerschnitzel and the salmon. Both were very tasty. Midway through our meal, a gentleman started playing the piano and several patrons started singing along. Enjoyable dinner on our first night in town.

The restaurant's design is definitely minimalist with simple blank walls and a comfortable mix of fake and real plants. There was no air conditioning but they found a fan to keep us comfortable- we were amazed that more folks in the full restaurant weren't sweating the way we were. Perhaps the locals are more used to the summer heat with no AC than we were. We had the 3-course prefixe meal with my my wife and daughter on the standard menu while I was on the vegetarian track. The website says that Host is the Danish word for harvest, and that their focus is "on the Scandinavian kitchen with lots of surprises." The staff used the word "surprises" explicitly, using it to describe the amuse-bouches and palette-cleansing bites served between the advertised courses. We started with a flight of croquettes with cheese and I think my wife and daughter had something like a smoked fish hash of some sort while by I had a delightful bite of salad on a molded sweet cookie tart shell. The baby bread loaves with a special butter were lovely - how do you innovate butter? Great job. My first veggie entree was fried carrots with horseradish, which was grand. Next I had a barley risotto with amazing brown beech mushrooms on top. Awesome. There was a spot of potato soup in there somewhere and the best bite of the meal was another of the surprises - a pre-dessert mochi-like shell with strawberry powder on the outside and hazelnut ice cream (I think???) on the inside. The strawberry rhubarb dessert was excellent also. Such a great meal. Loved it.

My picky father loved his waffle. And I really enjoyed the porridge I had. The oats perfectly cooked, the apples and almonds gave it a nice textural contrast. Plus the caramel, which was more like a dulce de leche added the perfect amount of sweetness without being too sweet. My mom was a bit ambivalent because the All In was too sweet. But to be fair, All In includes all of their toppings. Including chocolate and caramel so her assessment was fair! The Grød at 7Eleven had this wonderful chia pudding, layered with yogurt, natural peanut butter, a berry compote and nuts and I was obsessed. So simple, yet so wholesome. Interestingly, the server recommended something similar (another pork belly dish) over the national dish; stating it tastes much better and much softer... which I probably should have went with this recommendation since the national dish was TOUGH AS BONES. It wasn't crispy, chewy, or tasty. It was simply inedible. One couldn't even chew or cut through the meat... the side of skin on mini/small potatoes were simply boiled. The beet dish was delicious. The sauce didn't have much flavor (crazy how extra sauce costs 35 DKK more). The VEAL LIVER dish tasted better than the national dish ironically. Gave a tremendous portion. The potatoes were skinned. The gravy had some taste compared to the other sauce from the national dish. Decadent pickled cucumbers which provided a nice palate cleanser.
