Whilst the seating plan generates something of a snug environment for customers to dine in, the small booths and dimmed lighting really create an atmosphere which encourages a sociable and enjoyable experience. Typically lively throughout it's hours of trade, the Paramount provides a suitable setting for families, couples and small groups of friends. With the kitchen only metres away from the main seating area, the gorgeous smells of Indian Cuisine waft through air, inspiring large orders from the expansive menu provided. With customers' cravings for their favorite Indian dishes heightened by the smells and warm atmosphere, it's fortunate that the service is particularly efficient. As is common-place in most Tandorls, a selection of dips are provided to accompany the customary poppadoms during the short wait before the main dishes arrive. Once served, the Paramount provides good quality Curry, with side orders such as Naan bread and Onion Bhajis unsurprisingly available. A traditional style curry house, and renowned by many as Penarth's finest. The Paramount also provides a take away service, with Customers frequently popping in to collect their orders throughout the evening.

They do some decent vegetarian options, including Subzi Bora (mixed vegetable balls in breadcrumbs) for starters and a pretty spicy Chana Dansak for mains, alongside a wide range of other veggie choices, plus all the usual meat dishes you'd expect on an Indian menu (and a few more besides). One non-veggie dish that's delicious and a bit different that you can get from here is Machli Gobi - freshwater Bangladeshi fish with cauliflower. Their set meals are also worth a look if you're sharing, as they're pretty good value and offer a good selection of dishes. You can also take advantage of (free) local delivery for orders of £12 or more only.

Like their neighbours, they rely heavily on their take-out and delivery sales. It is reassuring that these guys have opted to be clear about their origins. I know that Indian restaurants all over the UK are run by Bangladeshi families, but still classify themselves as 'Indians' so as to gain optimum appeal. Nevertheless, they have things like Chat on the menu (delicious!), which is a North Indian dish / snack, and they even have Southern Indian style cuisine like Puri, (one of my all time favourites... but very calorific!) Mixing and matching is quite common in the West Asian countries. I used to live in India, and was always surprised to find a lot of South East Asian dishes on the menus of even the smallest restaurants, that were well off the tourists trail. There's some great Bangladeshi options too... like, Machli Gobi, a medium curry made with freshwater Bangladeshi fish cooked with cauliflower, or Baburchi Chingri, made with king prawns in a sauce that is more like a paste in consistency, with oil holding the finely chopped ingredients together. Mm mmmmmm.....

We ordered at the busiest time of evening, and were told the delivery would take 50-55 minutes (which is a while really), but it only took 30 minutes in the end. The delivery guy was very smartly dressed and polite, and it was a pleasure to deal with him and the guy who took the order (I especially liked the telephone conversation because he said 'Yes, got it,' in a very sincere way after I ordered each individual item). The food itself was one of the most pleasing Indians I've had in a while, and was the tastiest Aloo Paneer that I've ever had. Every mouthful was a delight. Plus, it only came to £16.40 for three people, which is excellent, I think, all things considered. This place is not just a takeaway, they also have a restaurant on Cowbridge Road, which is easy to find and nicely decorated. Although this place can often seem quite quiet, they sat open until 2am on a Friday and Saturday night, and this is when it gets really busy.

Offering mainly Indian and Indonesian dishes, Eurasian Tandoori creates a convincing marriage between these very different styles of cooking... the menu is vast! There's fierce competition on this stretch of street, with Sugar N Spice, a Bangladeshi restaurant and take-away located next door to the Canton Kebab House just a few doors down. Sugar N Spice present more of a threat, as they also have an extensive menu covering several different styles of Asian food, with a reasonable price range. Out of the two, depending on the order, Eurasian Tandoori works out cheaper than it's near-by neighbour, and because of the Indonesian options, it is also sufficiently different to tip the balance in its favour. But, just to maintain their competitive edge, they also do Bangladeshi fish dishes! A bit sneaky really! It's also possible to order a take-out into the early morning at the weekends, so this is a real advantage as well, especially as delivery is free if you spend more than a tenner. The service is great, and the food is excellent. I love the Biryani's! I've only ever eaten in once, and found it to be a very pleasant experience... especially as it's a 'bring your own' arrangement, which helps to keep the costs down. I really like both Eurasian Tandoori and Sugar N Spice, and am only able to decide between them if I know I want to order something that one of the two don't have on their menu! I recommend you try them both!!!
