Have been here a couple of times, going again tonight and have been very impressed with the food and the well above average service. We liked the menu as there were some slightly different dishes for us to try. Its also a bonus that their banquet nights are different to everyone elses, not many places do a banquet night on a Thursday and I think they do Wednesday's too. this makes a trip great value for money. Would totally recommend to everyone. read more

Spice Lounge has recently opened in Dunstable and is an absolute asset for people in the town. Many people would flock to either Luton or Eaton Bray seeking an excellent Indian restaurant but now they have one on their door step. The layout and decor is very calming and neutral with a bar located by the door along with the area for takeaway pick-ups. The bar is well stocked although is a touch overpriced, as is the case with all restaurants. The menu is extensive to say the least with many styles of Asian cooking listed including regional variants on some dishes. The portions are large and the presentation gives the impression you are in one of the finest restaurants around. The food is all freshly prepared on site and cooked in a clay oven with excellent standards all around. Along with the reasonably priced meals are an inexpensive all you can eat buffet lunch. Rather than having crust on the surface from using heat lamps, Spice lounge use kerosene burners to keep the containers hot without sacrificing on the quality of the food. The staff are friendly and helpful, they tend to read your body language rather than either go missing or pester you every five minutes. Service goes a long way to any person's experience in a restaurant and the staff at Spice Lounge do not make you feel an inconvenience as some restaurants will do. Whether it's a business lunch or a family meal, Spice Lounge seems to tick all the boxes. read more

Had a take-away which should be taken into account as that can never be as good as actually dining in. The food was above average, not too salty or oily which is often a failing in my book. Service was good. Plenty of staff on given it was a Saturday evening. They were certainly doing plenty of take-away business but even so the service was efficient and friendly. Food tried (their spellings!) : Aloo Chat - good Uree Aloo - not seen that before on a menu Sag Dall - good Onion Fried Rice - very buttery Garlic Nan - cooked to perfection I'd certainly go back and I'd be interested to see what the food was like when dining in. All in all worth a visit. read more

My family and I have dined here about 12 times now and it never fails to impress. You always get a very warm welcome when you walk through the door. All the staff are so friendly and greet you like an old friend. The waiting service is 100%. The food is outstanding. I am very particular about my indian food, am not a korma eater, and can say with confidence that the food is superb! There is a great choice on the menu and very reasonably priced. read more

I agree that the this restaurant is of high standard and worth a visit. I also reccomend them for take aways as the food is equal standard and very well packaged. read more

Booked up to eat at the Spice Lounge at the end of January and when we arrived at the prearranged time, we were told "your table will be ready for you in five minutes". So we waited.......and waited.......and after waiting FORTY FIVE minutes we walked out and went to another Dunstable Indian restaurant (of which there are many) and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Therefore, I cannot give the Spice Lounge any stars (unfortunately I have to give at least one), because they did not tick ANY boxes. If you're thinking of booking a table at the Spice Lounge, don't expect to sit down at that time. They simply want to get you through the door where you will wait for an available table.......or not. Having travelled from London and Ipswich, some of our party were ready and looking forward to their meal and were not impressed by our treatment at the Spice Lounge. When we eat in Dunstable again, this restaurant will not be on the short list. read more
