After listening to his wit and wisdom for decades on HealthQuest Radio, I finally decided to make…read morethe long drive. Knowing he is not a "this-for-that" pill pusher but a comprehensive health builder, we are simpatico. The deep understanding of health building nutrition was expected. He did not disappoint. The "structural" chiropractic aspect was viewed as a nice add-on. A few weeks into treatment, my stiff neck now released into normal motion, the true value became apparent. As time went on many things began to happen. Fat melted off, my BMI improving to nearly NFL standards. My cholesterol numbers improved to the point that management of levels with drugs would not be considered by any doctor. Along the way the benefits of Dr. Kolbaba having worked in law enforcement early in life manifested. He is still a keen detective and analyst of human thought and behavior. Excellent treatment planning followed. My wife accompanied me in this journey. Dr. Kolbaba tailored recommendations to facilitate her body-building goals. A thousand refinements and course corrections along the way kept the improvements coming. Dr. Kolbaba's diverse experiences and wide background in treatment modalities allowed comprehensive treatment of us as a couple. You could add to his well rounded resume the category of marriage counselor. Not content to rest on his laurels, he adds new options as they prove themselves. Shortly after clearing FDA approval and Beta testing, and just before endocrinologists began incorporating it into practice, he introduced us to LED light treatment. I do not know if it deserves credit apart from nutrition and chiropractic care or in conjunction with them, but two benefits are now evident: improved speed of healing and freaky keen night vision like I have never had in life before. All the technical commentary aside, Dr. Kolbaba excels because of his deep compassion. He has also proven to be a great team builder, as his staff is excellent and both shares and reflects his commitment to first rate comprehensive care. Dr. Steven E. Sylvester DDS

There I was, in my early 20s, and he was suggesting that I wear orthopedic shoes to solve my back problems! EXCUSE ME?? No, sorry. How about we try some physical therapy first, mkay? Also, he would literally run into the room to adjust me, and then run back out as soon as he was finished. One time I had a question about something and actually had to say "hey, wait - come back!" I don't know...I guess if you're in your 60s, don't care about your footwear, and are living out near him he's probably ok. Other than that, don't waste your time. There are much better chiropractors in the Chicagoland area.

I first came upon Chiro One from a community event at my gym, LA Fitness. I had been having…read moreheadaches for almost 2 years. My doctor checked my vision and just prescribed me a stronger pain killer. I am a teacher and experience lots of stress - causing frequent headaches. I didn't want to just take medicine forever, so I wanted to see what else I could do. I went to Chiro One and was hooked from the start. Each member of the staff is friendly, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. They educate you on spine and nervous system health right from the start. After that, I don't know why EVERYONE doesn't visit a Chiro regularly! They are welcoming, inviting and make everyone feel at ease in the office. You will quickly feel like part of the Chiro One Family. Dr. Erica listens and makes me feel heard as I talk about what I am going through physically. Sometimes she will adjust my sinuses, or my wrist, or work my shoulder - whatever pains I have as I go through life! After just a few sessions, my headaches became less frequent. I feel that my overall health has improved, and my mental health too! I would recommend Chiro One to anyone! Rachel, Sean, and Toby all are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about Chiropractry! They are efficient and run a great practice. I look forward to going to my weekly appointments.

I have been a patient with Chiro-one since 2020. My first treatment plan went well with Dr. Burney…read moreD.C. I came in barely able to move my neck, and within 6 months I had full range of motion. This was a positive experience, so I decided to use them again for a shoulder impingement injury because it was draining my mental health. I was not enjoying things I used to enjoy because I was always in such discomfort. I tried to rehab on my own to save money, because I was not comfortable given my financial position to pay another $2000. I ended up hurting myself during my at home rehab, and drove straight to Chiro-one out of desperation. Even though my insurance would not cover the visits, I decided since my first experience was so positive, I would set up a long term payment plan. Dr. Burney D.C moved on to a different Chiro location the day after I signed that contract. If this would have been presented to me during my initial exam with Dr. B, I would have had second thoughts to begin with (this is probably why he did not say anything). I went through about 4-6 weeks of rehab, about 8 visits, without any improvement. The care was certainly different once Dr. B left. I am at Atletico now and I showed them the exercises they had me doing for my injury and they were baffled. My program was not updated once the entire time, and the place was always overpacked. It was 3-4 people per assistant, and you would maybe get 5-10 minutes of personal treatment. My good friend since I was 9 years old suddenly passed, and the depression I was feeling was intensified so bad that I had trouble getting out of the house. Then about 6 weeks later, I had to have sudden Knee Surgery because my knee was so swollen that permanent damage was possible if not acted immediately. I then was stuck at my house unable to move without help for 2 weeks. It was a really tough time in my life. When I came back I was told that we took away your remaining 27 visits, but here is another $5,000 plan for 36 visits... I was stunned they would do this to a patient after I've paid $4,000+ since I started care in 2020. I even explained everything I went through, but the staff told me if it was up to them they would give me my visits, but the business they work for does not care about anything other than the contract you sign. I used 25% of my plan, so that means I might as well have took $1500 out of the bank and lit it on fire. I don't know about you, but that is A LOT of money that'll have stolen from you. Their reason is if you do not come in for 90 days straight, the remaining care plan is VOIDED and you are responsible for payment still. I just cannot believe this is an actual thing they hide in your contract. Not ONE call/voicemail warning me this was in the contract, because I could have at least scanned myself in to re-set the clock.. They called a few times to ask when I was coming in next, but not a single word about this 90 day policy. These guys are people we go to when we are desperate to get better, and they took advantage of my desperation in a very unethical way. I've been told by a lawyer there is nothing legally I can do because the contract is the contract, but that this is extremely unethical and the best thing you can do is warn future patients to help them avoid being abused. I strongly advise you pick a rehab/Chiro that cares about you as a person instead of a dollar sign!!! The financial and emotional stress this entire experience has caused me I wouldn't wish on anyone in my situation. I was just trying to get some help getting back to feeling like normal, but instead they left me worse than I was when I came in for treatment (both emotionally and physically). STAY AWAY! THERE ARE MUCH BETTER OPTIONS AROUND THAT WONT STEAL FROM YOU.

They then hired a series of doctors that (in our opinon) were not meeting our needs, and eventually another doctor we got to really like - who then disappeared again. Their billing has never been good - as a matter of fact, due to the rotating door for the doctors and the poor billing practices, we've since left this business. I very recently rec'd a bill for services rendered 10 months ago! Shortly after that, for a $20 bill, they referred me to a collector (for the item I'd just been billed for - are you kidding me?) I'm very unhappy with this business at this moment, with no signs of it improving. I will be complaining about them in every venue I can think of. Any business that can't keep their staff, and can't provide appropriate billing does *not* deserve to be in business. Would I return: No Would I recommend: No.

My insurance was not in their network so they offered me cash pricing for x amount of visits. I started going & loving it. Chiropractic care was helping with my headaches & sinuses. Then Feb. 2014, after going for several months to Chiro One, I was in a major head on collision, 3 car accident. I called Dr. Jason and informed him about the accident and told him that the doctors suggested I not go to the chiropractor until doctor visits & physical therapy visits were completed. I talked to him a couple times during my recovery time to get his opinion on certain things. Then once released, I tried to go back to Chiro One to complete my remaining visits that were paid for out of pocket. I made an appt, went in, was re examined, spoke with Dr. Jason; he informed me he didn't have time to look at my new x-rays until later and he apologized, but I would not be able to be adjusted same day, to make an appt for tomorrow, so I did. I received a call from Dr Jason the next day stating that he needed my new insurance info. I told him I would provide it once we were done with the remaining visits I had, he told me that he would have to refund my money or roll the value of the remaining appts into a new plan, because the previous plan was no longer valid. I said let me know what the cash refund would be and we could go from there. With a phone call back in less than 5 mins, I was told that my remaining visits were worth $252.00, but that I could not get a cash refund. I would need to give them my new insurance info and they would apply the $252.00 towards my deductible on my new insurance. This is not the way I would do business, nor do I believe this is good business.

Excuse me for a moment while I get a bit personal…read more About a year ago I started having migraines almost everyday. As a 22 year old woman that had me worried, because I was in otherwise good health. It has truly been an emotional and physical battle for me. I felt debilitated by them and felt like I couldn't socially function anymore. I couldn't concentrate at work, I skipped classes because of the pain, and didn't want to go out with my friends, because I was always so fatigued. I was already through the ringer of the ENT doctor, and then at the time a neurologist. I was on a high dosage of seizure meds just to get the pain to stop. Then I felt numbing in my arms and legs (which was apparently normal) and felt very lightheaded, yet heavy. Not to mention a restricted diet. That medicine was concealing the pain and just hiding the problem, not fixing it. I knew that wasn't a sustainable option or lifestyle I wanted to live by. My experience with Chiro One started about a couple of months ago. I stumbled across the booth at the Green Expo at ECC and set up an appointment for me and my boyfriend to go in. I was desperate for anything. I have been going multiple days a week to get adjusted and do therapy on my neck (and back). Over time my headaches grew further apart and weaker. It felt like a miracle. It wasn't instant, but I have stuck with it for my well being and seen results I didn't even expect. I rarely have headaches anymore, and if I do I just do my exercises they gave me. The real shocker is that I don't take any meds! Plus, I can enjoy a nice glass of wine again! Dr. Jason and all of his wonderful employees have actually turned my life back into the right direction. I have learned so much about my health and gained friendship and guidance through all of these people. I feel much more full of energy, health, and happiness. So now my question is, what are you waiting for?
